Week 7 - Titans at Bills Game Week Thread
paulmm3 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a massive Bishop fan but he looked bad first game and I think coaches are putting the best players possible out there at safety. At little surprised we didn't try and keep one of Hyde or Poyer, but they were getting older. Hyde isn't playing and Poyer has a horrible PFF grade for Miami. Can't be too upset with how FO has managed the safety position the last 12 months, but yeah our current starters are not all-pros. Rapp was good last weekend. Cam Lewis has not been good this year but gets some understanding since he had to move around with the Taron Johnson injury. Be nice to have Von Miller and Milano back when they come back. -
So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14
paulmm3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
As long as the league keeps Shawn Hochuli away from any Bills games of importance I will not complain about the refs -
I assume Cam Rising takes an 8th year at Utah if he can. Figuring he wants to make money. He's probably a borderline 7th rounder if he enters the draft this year. He only played 3 games and didn't look great. If he stays at Utah he gets another year of NIL money and a chance to continue his NFL audition.

I watched Cole Bishop at Utah and liked him a lot and hoped he'd look a little better right at the beginning of his career. But also he's 21 years old and still learning.

Bills (still) bringing in kickers for tryout: Brayden Narveson
paulmm3 replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad the Bills are bringing in kickers. I think there's almost no way the FO cuts Bass and signs one of these guys, but even in that case it's good to give Bass competition. -
Is Tom Brady Part Owner of Raiders a Conflict of Interest?
paulmm3 replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe a little bit, but who cares? Every commentator has teams they seem to like more and less -
I don't think the organization is going to blame Bass too much for last night since Zuerlein also missed two easy kicks last night. I agree that Bass sucks and I'd like a new kicker though, don't get me wrong.

The Bills Defense is Last in Rushing Yards / Attempt
paulmm3 replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just weak in the middle. Bad safety play. Damar has to go. Dorian Williams is better at pass coverage than run D and worse than Milano overall. Ed Oliver is better at pass rushing than run D. Bernard hasn't been great at run defense either when he's been in. -

Dawson Knox: 3 receptions in 5 games. $8.5M salary.
paulmm3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
3 receptions in 5 games but also only 5 targets in 5 games. He's obviously overpaid compared to his production. But it seems more an issue of getting him involved than what he does with his targets. That's coaching. If we were going to make any changes - and I'm not sure we need to make changes at 3-2 - I would say fire McDermott and bring in Belichick. Shakir, Knox, and Kincaid may be our 3 best receiving options. Maybe Coleman. But Belichick had success with Hernandez, Gronk, and Welker. Knox, Kincaid, and Shakir are obviously not as good players but could be used similarly. -
We all remember from the combine that Coleman has a slow 40 time (20th percentile) and know looking at him he's not that fast. He got those Kelvin Benjamin comparisons. But what people don't talk about as much and that Coleman has but Kelvin Benjamin didn't is excellent plant-and-push explosiveness for one step. Coleman tested about 80th percentile broad jump at the combine (Benjamin was 20th percentile in this one). I think I've seen this play out in games too. Coleman isn't going to beat people for pace, but in terms of "plant and explode towards the ball" he's pretty darn good at it.

Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
paulmm3 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am all for making changes in how the offensive and defensive plays are called. -
There could be some immediate cause of Saleh getting fired, or it could be the 20-36 record.

10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans post game thread.
paulmm3 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Part of the reason the passing game was bad was the bad first down running game forced us into lots of obvious long passing downs. More a criticism of offensive playcalling than James Cook who did have some good runs. -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
paulmm3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm most upset with McD for not challenging on that Kincaid catch in the first half but McD did a lot wrong today
