Last year someone said we should sign a midget running back, give him the ball and then proceed to throw him for first downs. At the time I thought that was the most idiotic thing I'd ever read. I was wrong. Fowler's not great but moving an all-pro LT who is a converted TE to center is just the worst idea ever. Actually signing or drafting someone would be a much better option.

One thing that we may have forgotten is that we used to have a defensive lineman that was capable of doing both. Although he was a fat tube of goo Sam Adams was able to shoot into the backfield with amazing speed when he wanted to. For reasons that still seem bizarre, neither he nor Pat Williams were instructed penetrate but rather hold the line. I would have loved to seen what those two could do if they were turned loose.

Someone should do an article that points out the "biggest losers" when it comes to sports writers. Clearly if you're working for Yahoo Sports you've got an instant advantage. It's ironic that he said the Bills overpaid for their three linemen but fails to mention the outrageous deal that the Pats gave to We Welker.

Kelly, Your position with regard to Spikes is noble but highly unrealistic. Spikes was brought in at a large cost to do a job. Due to injury he's no longer able to do that job and therefore won't be compensated at the same rate. It's not fair, it's not nice but it's just a reality of the life of a player in the NFL. The players all know that it's business and it's about production. They also know that their career can end with a single injury. In many respects, it's not much different that what happened to Sam Cowart

If an NFL linebacker can't add 6 pounds of muscle in an offseason then I wouldn't have a lot of confidence in our training staff. The bigger question is, how much of a difference does 6 pounds make when the offensive linemen outweigh you by more than 70 lbs?

Most of the people that are bitching don't have 1/1000th of the football acumen of the Bills current staff. They like to B word because it makes them feel intelligent and this forum gives them a place where they can have their 15 minutes of fame, or so they think. The reality is these toons are no different from trolls like ICE. They're not interested in intelligent discourse, they bring nothing to the table and their posts aren't worth reading.

Wow, you saw him play? I guess we should just take your word for it then because your a keen assesor of talent right? I mean if you saw him play you've obviously done the same amount of work as the Bills coaching staff. You probably saw him play every snap against every opponent last year. That combined with your intrinsic understanding of assignments, blocking schemes and techniques certainly makes you a better judge of this guys ability that any of the current Bills staff. I'll put my faith in someone who actually knows what they're looking at, thanks!

I find it interesting that many of the "concerns" here are the exact same arguments that were used when we inked Schoebel to a long term deal. That seems to have worked out ok.
