  1. Kyle Williams and Marcus Stroud are absolute "must keeps" if we stick with a 4-3. If we move to a 3-4 I think both could be serviceable DE's but we'd need a monster nose tackle. Maybe Ralph could go after Wilfork and really break the bank One other certainty, Schobel, Kelsay and Denney need to have their pay scales adjusted. Their performance is not commensurate with their pay at this point.
  2. I disagree to some extent. There is talent on this team. Despite all the injuries and the craptastic coaching they're not getting blown out. Here's my recipie for getting to 10 wins assuming everyone comes back from injury. 1. Hire an actual coach who has a clue like Shanahan or Cowher 2. Pick up 4 free agents 3. Draft 2 players that can actually play and contribute 4. Install game plans that don't resemble that of the local pop warner team.
  3. If it means we get Shanahan I'll take up a collection and the fans can pay the !@#$ing fine.
  4. Allen Wilson reports it as a "compound fracture" and had immediate surgery. If that's true it's definitely a worst case scenario. http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/870526.html
  5. No actually, I never saw him play. I just picked a name out of thin air and threw it out as an example. Is that actually the name of a real player...wow. Paup played OLB primarily in a 3-4 set. He was an outstanding edge rusher but an average LB. Maybin has the size but more importantly the speed to be an outstanding linebacker IF he can make the transition. I still think that Maybin would be far better off getting reps at OLB as opposed to sitting on the sidelines watching.
  6. You know you're right, he might even have to face one of those scary death panels.
  7. I don't think I've ever seen a football team willingly let another team score EVER? Can someone point me to an example of where this has happened? If I remember correctly the Bills were up by 5 at the time. If they stop them they win, if they don't it's game over. The Bills offense has been anemic the entire season. Letting them score and assuming they could mount a 60 yard drive is insane.
  8. I don't want to read too much into this report from Chris Brown BUT: Bills OL Eric Wood has a fractured tibia and fibula and is staying in Jacksonville tonight. Wood is having surgery to re-set the bones. He’s expected back in Buffalo on Monday. With six weeks left in the season its likely that Wood’s injury is season ending. We’ll get the official update Monday at Perry Fewell’s wrap up press conference. Two things stick out at me if that report is accurate. 1. He's having the bones re-set and there is no mention of pins or rods. 2. If he's flying back tomorrow, I'm assuming it's not going to be a major reconstructive surgery. If it was he'd likely be in the hospital for a few days. Let's keep hoping!
  9. To be fair he did get double teamed and got popped while spinning. I've never seen any of our DE's fight through a double team and get anywhere near the QB. I'm not ready to give up on the kid yet but he desperately needs an offseason in the weight room. As to why he "might" be able to play LB in a 3-4. Two words Bryce Paup.
  10. You clearly didn't see Sanchez play today then. For all the hype that kid got he sure makes some craptastic throws. Not just bad throws, stupid, ill advised, wtf were you thinking throws.
  11. In all the years I've been coming here I've read some pretty stupid things but this wins hands down. Dude wtf is the wrong with you? I suppose somewhere tonight somebody will die in a fire or car accident. I hope nobody writes "Damn, why couldn't that have been Erie_Bills"? More likely, no one will ever write anything about you because you're a freaking nobody.
  12. I saw one play were he touched Garrard after he was already down then Maybin decided it was a good time for a 15 second celebration. At this point, I can't decide if he's a bust or just a tool.
  13. In what country? I've got an Impala that's 2 years old and falling apart.
  14. Considering the injuries and the interim status of the entire organization we should just take a knee on the season.
  15. I'm starting to think that no one in the media has a !@#$ing clue as to what's going on. With all due respect to our resident reporters there's so much misinformation out there I don't believe anyone knows what's going on. One reporter has a source that says that Shanahan won't meet with anyone until the season is over and another says there is a meeting scheduled this week??? I'll take all future reports with a carton of salt and just wait to see how this plays out.
  16. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but Kyle Williams has played his ASS off this year.
  17. If there ever was an organization or team that needed a Six Sigma gutting it's the Buffalo Bills.
  18. I don't know a whole lot about Weiss but I do know a touch about college football. College is far more about having great players than it is about scheme. If it were about scheme then Spurrier would already have another national championship. Notre Dame doesn't have the luxury of recruiting the best players in the nation anymore. Their academic requirements are too high and graduating seniors would rather go to college anywhere in the SEC than in Indiana USC sucks this year, is it because Carroll just became a terrible coach? No it's because they don't have the horses. Whtehr or not Weiss could be a could or great coach in Buffalo is an unknown. I don't know if Buffalo is going to be able to get a Shanahan, Cowher, Dungy et al. If we do get Weiss one thing is for certain, our games against the Patriots will get a lot more interesting.
  19. If it's Denny Green or Fassell I'm done with this team. The only reason I'd consider Haslett is because of his close personal feelings toward the team. The guy might very well work 20 hours a day....not that it would necessarily mean anything.
  20. Ironically, that's when they installed that craptastic new field at RWS as well. I wonder if there's a correlation?
  21. Jesus, maybe The Senator is right and we should bring Mike Leach here. At least he's got experience pulling people out of the stands and getting them into uniform.
  22. The reasoning on this wall is astounding. Dungy built two teams in two different divisions that won Super Bowls. The armchair GM's immediately dismiss his accomplishment because McKay did all the work in Tampa (although he was there prior to Dungy and they sucked) and he had Manning and Polian in Indy. I guess by that logic then Bellichek sucks because he has Brady and Pioli. Cowher sucks because he had Rothlesberger and the Bus and Coughlin sucks because he has a Manning, Strahan, Tuck etc. You can find a reason to dismiss the accomplishments of almost any coach or player if you try hard enough.
  23. There is nothing compelling about bringing Leach to Buffalo. The only thing that might be moderately interesting would be watching the circus atmosphere around him and then watching as another 3 years is wasted. No thanks! There's a reason teams don't run a spread offense or option offense in the NFL. If you're looking for a way to get your QB killed then it's perfect. Other than that, you'll just get your QB decapitated. The gimmick offenses don't work with players the size and speed of those in the NFL. If the did Eric Crouch would be in the Pro Bowl. Hell you don't even see anyone running the Wildcat full time and that's basically a pro style wishbone. Can we please stop with this incessant Leach nonsense.
  24. I'll give you Jimmy Johnson but there is a caveat. Johnson was the architect of one of the biggest and most imbalanced trades in the history of the NFL. When that Walker trade went down it was like giving Dallas 2 drafts in one year. That team was so talented from top to bottom that Jerry Glanville could have won with them. Switzer is an idiot who basically gravy trained his way to a SB victory.
