If we had 4 other lineman with Wood's talent, dedication and mindset I'd agree with him.

The 3-4 Defense is Here

Aren't DE's in a 3-4 alignment basically uncovered tackles? -

The 3-4 Defense is Here

My dream 3-4 Johnson - Wilfork - Stroud Poz - Mitchell - McClain - Maybin That would be a FORMIDABLE group to block. Maybin coming off the edge the way Bryce Paup used to would be freaking frightening for opposing QB's! -

T.O. disses the B-Lo in Miami

SLAP IN THE FACE If you offered the entire population of Buffalo the chance to go to Miami right now the city would look like Chernobyl this weekend . -
Checkout Brett Favres bad ankle and hamstring
Mike in Syracuse replied to USABuffaloFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently there's a lot of people here who haven't enjoyed the pleasure of the dreaded ankle sprain. That picture is pretty typical. I played volleyball in college and this is an absurdly common injury in volleyball and basketball. The biggest problem is that once you have a sprain like this it becomes a recurrent issue. At first sprain, if you tape the snot out of it to keep the swelling down you can still function fairly well. You have to rely on excessive tape or a brace like and AirCast to support the ankle but if you can just hold the swelling down you can play. The swelling takes away your mobility and ability to bend your foot and that's when it takes you out of the game. Essentially the swelling is the bodies way of saying "I'm shutting this joint down and you're not going to be moving it"! I'm not a tough guy by any standard. In a tournament I sprained my ankle, tried to be a tough guy and had it taped and played 4 more matches. I wound up with an evulsion fracture and was in a cast for a month. -
James Hardy and Shawn Nelson
Mike in Syracuse replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm willing to give Hardy one more year to prove something to me. If he can't keep his ass healthy and play at least 12 games then he's a total BUST! -
Buddy haters beware
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently you've completely overlooked the fact that Nix has been hired to run the FOOTBALL operations NOT the organization. Sarcasm only works if you have your facts straight otherwise you just wind up looking stupid. Case in point. -
Here's an excellent article on DeHaven's return to Buffalo. Here's the part that SCREAMED to me: "Buddy Nix is a football guy, just wait and see," DeHaven said. "You don't have to take my word for it, but Buddy Nix knows football players. There are a lot of guys out there who know heights and weights and 40-yard times, but not all of those scouts can tell you whether the guy is a football player. Buddy Nix can." http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/943876.html

Mike Mayock's #1 Rated QB....
Mike in Syracuse replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That won't matter if he can't stay on the field and so far he hasn't proven he can. You put him behind out current OL and he'll be out before the end of the first game. Line first, QB second. -
Phil Simms implies that SBXXV Bills Defense
Mike in Syracuse replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Um, Phil didn't even play in SB 25. He got a ring standing on the sidelines. -
silence is indicative
Mike in Syracuse replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most of the people on this site couldn't tell the difference between the Tampa 2 and the 46. This place is overrun with smacktards that hear something then spend the next 2 years parroting it without a clue as to what they're saying. Anonymous poster: "The Tampa 2 sucks" Oblivious idiot: "YEAH, the Tampa 2 sucks". As to the 4-3 to 3-4 discussion, I have to think that the current coaching staff understands the limitations of our current roster. Gailey specifically said he will tailor or schemes to fit our players and I just don't see Nix/Gailey going into this without a well thought out plan. -
What are you having at your Pro Bowl party?
Mike in Syracuse replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They should rename it the Pro-Blow. I watched the first series for each side and turned it off. A for the NFC DT knocked someone on his ass and rather than proceed to the QB he stopped to help him up. That was enough for me. -
silence is indicative
Mike in Syracuse replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's only 2 reasons they haven't announced the hiring yet. Their guy is either on a college team and they don't want to announce it prior to signing day (Wed) or he's on one of the teams in the SB. That's it, end of story. I'm also positive that whoever it is, he's being consulted on all the assistant coach hirings. -
If you watched the Senior Bowl Lefevour was the best QB on the field and it wasn't even close.

Holy !@#$, Tebow IS Captain Checkdown!
-
Tebow started and looked really mediocre. His arm strength is not impressive. The QB from WV has a cannon, reminds me a lot of Vick.

Bryant McKinnie kicked off Pro Bowl team
Mike in Syracuse replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most players have a financial incentive in their contract that kicks in if they get named to the pro bowl. It's not an insignificant about and I've heard numbers in the $200,000 range. I doubt he'll get paid now......LOL. -

Don't count out Trent Edwards
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Were you saying this when he was 5-1 last year? The fact of the matter is there was something in the guy that allowed him to lead the team to a 5-1 record. If he starts 5-1 this year would you still hold the opinion that he "sucks"? -
Don't count out Trent Edwards
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Gailey holds an open competition between the 3 QB's on the roster and decides that Trent is the most talented then I have no problem with him being named the starter. No one was bitching about how much "Trent sucks" when the Bills were 5-1. For the first time in his career Trent has a head coach that has a !@#$ing clue how to run an offense. He also knows how do develop a quarterback. If he wins the job I'll hope and pray that he turns out to be great. Lets not forget, Favre and Young were run out off teams because they "sucked". -
Nix Gets Nice Slam On "Whitey"....
Mike in Syracuse replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing about Buddy, he speaks his mind and he doesn't care if you like what he says or if it's politically correct. In that article when discussing Gailey: "He adjusted to [Tyler] Thigpen. Give me a break. Then look at what happened to the offense after he left." It would have been better if he said "Tyler Freaking Thigpen"!
