  1. This is a very important point. With guys like Freddy, CJ and Dickerson we can can show a lot of different looks on offense. Their versatility give us the option to make life very difficult for opposing defenses. If you get all three on the field the defense will have no idea if it's a run or pass. That's a very different dynamic from having 4 or 5 wide sets with just WR's. I'm thinking you're going see some really interesting twists this year.
  2. I think the simple answers to the OP's question are: 1. Because he's the head coach of an NFL team and he gets to make those decisions. Keep in mind, his job is on the line. 2. Because he's forgotten more about football than you'll ever know 3. Because he knows what the plan is.
  3. Doesn't anyone recall the report out of camp about coach D constantly screaming at Asper? There's a reason he's not on the active roster guys. In all likelyhood, Minny saw him play well against one of their scrubs and decided they'd rather sign Asper when he hit the PS.
  4. This shouldn't really be news to anyone but I'll post it here. From the horses mouth: “I think you’ve been around Buddy and I long enough to know that nothing is ever set,” said Gailey. ”We’re always looking for different ways to improve our football team. I doubt that what you see today will show up next Sunday.” http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/0...ect-to-change/
  5. I think the easiest way to judge the Bills level of talent is to look at the players that are being cut. We're not there yet but historically the Bills have been forced to keep players on the roster, guys like Danny Batten and Ruvell Martin, who weren't great football players. The guys that were released had virtually no chance of every being signed to another NFL roster. This year, the Bills released a few guys who actually might get picked up by another team.
  6. - Buddy Nix 08-27-12 Smith is a wildcat QB and an emergency QB. it's he's ever taking regular snaps we're really screwed.
  7. Exactly how many times to Chan and Buddy need to say that Brad Smith is a WR before everyone realizes Smith is a WR?
  8. Is this a surprise to anyone else or is it just me. This guys been Brady's center forever and they cut him. Not to mention, New England's OL hasn't been playing great this year.
  9. How about you show some sensitivity and not act like a freaking child?
  10. This is yet another shining example of what passes for sports journalism now. It's really great that opposing defenses know what the Bills like to do. That's just great, but there's a big difference between knowing what they're going to try and do and actually stopping it. For example, every team in the league knows EXACTLY what Tom Brady and the New England offense is going to try to do. Stopping them is an entirely different matter. Everyone knows the Ravens are going to try to run the ball...stopping them....not so easy.
  11. I remember when people were screaming to start Todd Collins over Kelly towards the end of Kelly's career. Bills fans aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed but many of them are definitely tools!
  12. Ah, well that makes me feel a bit better. What was really astonishing was the pressure generated with just the front 4. And Kyle Williams, damn what a beast!! It's too bad these guys can't just flip a switch and show us what they can really do! I gotta put some of that on the Stache. If I remember correctly they only rushed 4 on that long completion play from the 2. One more would've made a difference because Rothlesberger had way to much time.
  13. I know I did. I realize Levitre said it wasn't possible but it sure as hell looked like something got flipped! With the exception of that absurd 98yd drive they gave up the defense sure looked like a different group. Apparently the defense didn't read Andy's memo.
  14. “Leodis has played really, really well at nickel,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “It would be hard to move him out of there.” That's as close to effusive praise as you're ever going to hear from Gailey. I'd say Leodis has found a home.
  15. The Bills upgrades on the DL this year mean that we should be able to pressure Brady with our front four. That's a HUGE advantage because if we bring a 5th blitzer, as Wanny has done in the past, they means we have a numbers mismatch. That mismatch means either Welker or Gronk isn't going to be able to run free, they'll have to block. I do love the "Brady prancing in the backfield like a doe in a pasture" image!
  16. One minute left in the game and Belly's got most of his starting line in. Love it!
  17. My comment on "flipping a switch" was in reference to INTENSITY not execution. What I said was professional athletes can dial up the intensity. That doesn't necessarily mean that they'll execute the plays properly but the certainly level of physicality will increase. Jesus, there've been literally dozens of former players that have confirmed this. If you want to call me out that's fine but don't twist my words. If you believe that veteran football players give max effort during meaningless preseason games then were going to have to agree to disagree. As an extension, I just re-read that article and I really don't understand WTF Levitre is talking about? Who exactly is he talking about when he says he "doesn't see the same intensity"? He's the only starter from last year that's been getting any consistent snaps. He has a rookie to his left who spent the first two weeks of camp trading spots with Hairston. Wood has spent most of camp slowly working back in and played only 10 snaps last week. Urbik's been forced to play center taking him out of his regular position and Pears has been spending all of his time that should be used for reps riding a !@#$ing bicycle. Does Andy realize that four of the five guys on his line are either out of position or new?
  18. WGR is a business. There is only one thing that is going to induce change and that's a loss of revenue. If you're unhappy with their programming let their advertisers know it and let the Bills know it. If enough people do it, change will happen. If not, the endless stream of **** will continue. At least John Murphy's show stays on point but I'm not sure how long it will last.
  19. Really? Because there's no difference in the preparation and intensity level between the preseason and regular season? Come on Beerball, you know better than that. Weren't people crying about the same thing last year then they went on the road and kicked the **** out of KC. So what happens if the 1st team goes out and kicks the **** out of the Steelers on Saturday? Should I buy my superbowl tickets?
  20. I simply can't envision a scenario where a multiple time Tour winner would just "give up" his titles if there wasn't something there. If he truly didn't dope wouldn't he be screaming from the mountaintops? I think he's guilty as hell... Really, so you'd just give up your titles and quit? bull ****, you'd be screaming till the day you died that you didn't do anything and that they need to !@#$ing prove it.
  21. I'm not sure you'd feel that way watching Brady eat Drayton Florence alive again. I think you nervous nellies may be overreacting. This may be nothing more than getting Morrison snaps at a different spot to get some fresh reps in the middle.
