It seems like we have been trying to address this position since Jay Riemersma or maybe even Pete Metzlers.
How dare you forget the talent that was Lonnie Freaking Johnson!

I’m sorry...I just can’t watch Mahomes play...it just makes me sick to my stomach knowing how great he is and that he should have been a Buffalo Bill...if Allen ever becomes half as good as this guy we should consider ourselves lucky.
Are you seeing the dozen or so fingertip catches, one handed grabs his WR's and TE's are making. Compare that to what Allen had this year.

Agreed regarding the 2019 top-10; very defense-heavy.
And I'm totally fine with that; elite pass rushers and corners can change games. Along with elite pass catchers; those 2 positions make up the 2nd-tier of criticality behind QB.
I read this somewhere else but a teams draft priority should be:
1. Draft the guy who throws the ball.
2. Draft the guys who catch the ball.
3. Draft the guys who tackle the guy who throws the ball.
4. Draft the guys who stop the guys who catch the ball.
Seems to make a lot of sense.

KB had some interesting traits:
1. I've never seen a starting WR put forth less effort.
2. I've never seen a starting WR struggle to catch the ball and hold onto it as much as KB.
3. For a guy as big as he is, I've never seen him break a tackle. Hell, I don't know if I've ever seen him get a YAC.
This is literally addition by subtraction.

They should cut Kelvin Benjamin while they are at it.
They won't cut Benjamin, they're keeping him for the compensatory pick.

Kelvin Benjamin is a 6'5" 230lb WR who's plays like a 5'4" 160lb WR. He's literally the softest player I've ever seen.

Varsity and DIII football d/n equal NFL scheme and play. I have a hard time believing anyone on this board didn't play football. This means nothing.
Are you telling me my 3 years of playing nose tackle in Class D football doesn't make me an expert? Hogwash.
What's next, you going to tell me my intramural experience is meaningless?

You'd have to be a real nincompoop to not believe that Star is a contributing reason to allowing our defensive players the freedom to disrupt and make plays.
The whole reason why we brought him in wasn't to make sacks or lots of tackles but to help collapse the pocket in pass rushing situations and eat up blockers for our playmakers to do what they do. And that is exactly what they've done thanks in part to Star.
Not to mention the massive improvement in the run defense. Team aren't running through massive holes in the center of the defense.

So the title is misleading trying to fit a specific agenda. Got it
Really that is how NFL defenses work. You mean Only in the NFL If an OL gets out to a LBer he is ineffective?
i see Edmunds and Milano taking on Untouched OL every game, but that cant be they would be ineffective right
How does someone with 12k posts have so little understanding of the game?
Fine, you do you. Believe whatever you want.

Or the LBers are very good on their own
LB's are way less good when they have offensive linemen in their face.
Our LB's are playing well because our DT's are keeping them clean. That's how NFL defenses work.

He throws 3-4 times between innings every inning! He also averages 375 assists per year not including preseason etc. NFL QBs average around 450 throws per full season. Not much difference, and they don't throw it as hard as an MLB shortstop.
I would think a QB throws way more than 150 throws per week. They probably throw 20 times warming up, 30 throws during WR work, then the actual throws during practice.
I'd find it hard to image that an NFL quarterback doesn't throw a football well over 100 times a day

Yes we do. The team doctors didn't find a tear in the MRI but they are sending it to another doctor to be safe. That's the crux of the this whole thing. If it's just a sprain he'll be out a month.
The type of pain response I saw from Allen in that clip makes me wonder how it could be just a sprain.

Terrible, but you can't mess with UCL. Next few weeks may determine if Bills need to consider drafting another QB in the early rounds of 2019 draft.
The Bills should draft a QB with every 1st round pick for the next 10 years if that's what it takes to find a reliable starter. Without a franchise QB you're going nowhere.

I'd take Matt Moore or Ryan Mallet over Kapernick. Why? Because Kapernick is a distraction - why can't people see this? If he was good, maybe I'd consider it, but he's not so not worth it.
I don't disagree with any of that.

Name a bigger circus than what the Bills already are if we sign Mr. Pigsocks.
If he were to go out and throw for 300 yards in his first couple of games no one would care. The circus would be over.
Kaepernick was brave enough to tell you how he feels about things. If every NFL player did fans would hate half the league.
All that said, there's zero chance the Bills do that.

This is exactly what I would do if I was in charge.
-Shut Allen down for the rest of the year. Not IR but keep him inactive. Let him heal and learn in practices but keep him inactive on game days
-Cut Peterman. 5 weeks to late but still cut him
-Sign Landry Jones to be the backup and get him up to speed as quick as possible. They have had him in for a visit or possibly two. Make it happen and get him ready Incase Anderson goes down. Possibly as the long term backup
-start Anderson for the rest of the year
Starting Logan Thomas at QB might be preferable to Peterman at this point.

"Intelligent" and "sign Colin Kapernick" shouldn't be together in the same sentence.
Name a better QB that's currently available.

"Based on the video, “Pro Football Doc” David Chao has now said Allen will be out at least month with a UCL strain and possible structural damage. Chao worked with NFL teams for 17 years and is a practicing orthopedic surgeon.
“The test is called a milking sign, and the immediate reaction to pain indicates there is damage to the UCL, which is also commonly called the Tommy John ligament for its frequent reconstruction in baseball pitchers,” said Chao.
“Throwing a football would certainly stress this ligament, and his reaction after the pass is another sign of the injury,” continued Chao.
Chao goes on to clarify that it’s unlikely Allen will need surgery, but the prognosis for return in the weeks and not days.
“I’m not ready to say Allen’s season is done or that he needs surgery. But he will be hard-pressed to play the next few weeks based on his reaction to the test on his elbow.”

Shut him down. Start Anderson for the rest of the season. Pray he doesn't get hurt because Peterman should never take another snap.
Or do the intelligent thing and sign Colin Kapernick tomorrow.

Guess you missed him wide open on Sunday many times. But OK
It wasn't many times, the main one everyone is crowing about was a busted coverage and numerous open WR's were missed.
We're not talking about Larry Fitzgerald here.

YES, Beane appears to be some kind of F'ing genius!
To me this says that there's something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. These decisions aren't made impulsively so clearly there's more tan we know about.

He's so valuable no one else wanted him.

This hysteria over the move releasing a mediocre at best WR.
One season after making the playoffs McDermott and Beane are idiots who have no idea what they're doing.
Only Bills fans..........

When I see All - 22 film of WR's running wide open without a Bengal within 10 yards of them there's nothing wrong with the OC or the offense. If we had a QB who actually threw to the open WR's no one would be criticizing Dabol.
Jets getting better is ultimately good for the Bills
