  1. I want Byrd back here but I'm not intersted in paying $8M/year for a safety who is likely to be 1 of 3 on the field at any time. Byrd is a good safety but teams don't game plan to stay away from Byrd.
  2. The only problem with that line of thinking is that Byrd is also a rookie in this defense. He has no idea where he's even supposed to line up.
  3. Giving some great insight on where the Bills defense is heading. Paraphrasing: 1. Kelving is a good pure MLB. The Bills won't be using a pure MLB. Kelvin is better suited for Indy's scheme. 2. Hughes was heavily scouted coming out of school. He's versatile and can play multiple roles and can run. 3. Pettine said during that draft that the days of the old school alignments are almost over. LB's need to be able to switch between the Mike and Will. Bringing a safety down in tight adds even more versatility. Wants all LB's to be able to switch. 4. This defense is going to have people all over. Pay little attention to the position titles next to names. Gentlemen, I'm going to make a prediction. The Bills defense won't look anything like the garbage that Wanny ran last year. There's going to be guys all over the place. It'll take some time for it to become comfortable so I'd expect they give up some yards early on. BUT, they are gonna put some hits on people and teams are going to leave RWS bloodied and bruised. I CAN'T WAIT!
  4. Eddie Robinson perhaps? The lowest point of many lows! Brett Favre was a bust in Atlanta Steve Young was trash in Tampa You never know where a player is going to break out and become amazing with a different team/scheme.
  5. There's a good reason Kiper and McShay don't have jobs for actual teams
  6. You can't make any judgements on this draft or the new regime at One Bills Drive. Everything is brand new and this draft has Whaley written all over it. The Bills are also going to be running a defense unlike anything we've seen so the alignments and personnel will all be different. Hold judgement until they've had a chance to prove themselves
  7. I'm glad the Bills didn't draft Geno. That said, I almost feel bad for the kid. The Jets are a dumpster fire with little offensive talent and Geno's fragile ego.... Oh my what a mess.
  8. I'm betting someone told him they're taking him early in the 2nd. Maybe the Jags?
  9. If that happens the Bills will have had an AMAZING draft. Let's hope!
  10. I don't think taking Warmack at #8 would be a good idea for the Bills but I'd be lying if I didn't say that a Glenn, Warmack, Wood lineup blocking the left to center side of the line wouldnt' be !@#$ing awesome. That's literally a run at will side of the line!
  11. Actually, as Bills fans we should be praying that the Jets take Austin. Hell, let's hope they give up picks to get to him to take him. It'll set the Jets back another five years. They've got a shakey QB with no confidence, Tebow mania, a very suspect OL, they just lost their best CB and they've literally got no LB's. God, please let the Jets take Austin.
  12. This is an EXTREMELY deep draft. Two first round picks and four second round picks would be HUGE!
  13. The same holds true for the posters. We'll get: "This is a great pick. Love this pick!" or "This is the worst pick in the history of the franchise. This guy has bust written all over him"
  14. Warmack would be a MASSIVE upgrade over Levitre. Andy was a good pass blocker but an average run blocker. Warmack is a beast and would solidify the left side of our line for the next 5 years. You may not like taking a guard at 8 but comparing him to Levitre is a gross underestimation of Warmack as a player.
  15. It's really stunning to me that rather than be hopeful, people just revel in being !@#$ing miserable. I've been a Bills fan longer than most of the posters here have been alive yet every year, I try to be hopeful at the start of a new season. How ****ty is your life if you can't find anything positive? Yes, it's meaningless. Yes it doesn't matter till we win some games but can't we just take a little !@#$ing joy in some positive news?
  16. Jonah Javad ‏@JonahJavad 1h #Bills coach Doug Marrone (wearing a backwards visor) playing center for some QB drills. Welcome to mini camp. #Bills Off. Coordinator Nate Hackett hasn't stopped smiling. One of the youngest OC's in the NFL (33) & his enthusiasm is infectious. #Bills LB Nigel Bradham is flying. Quick change of direction & tremendous acceleration. Ball skills still need work but wow, he looks good. #Bills Tarvaris Jackson w/ laser to Brad Smith across middle. Splits two defenders for TD. I know it's mini camp but that one had mustard.
  17. I think there are many pieces of information I can point to from last year that illustrate just how pitiful Wanny was and how absurd his scheme was: 1. During the Jets game it was clear that they went in believing they could get to the QB with just their base defense. The Jets had a better gameplan and Wanny was absolutely unprepared or unable to adjust. 2. In the second or third game I think, there was a player (I can't remember who) on an opposing team who said something like "they didn't disguise anything" they just lined up in a base 3-4". 3. Tom Brady walking to the line of scrimmage and calling out the entire defensive alignment. Again, the Bills were completely unprepared to adjust. 4. Gailey saying something to the effect "I don't get involved with the defense". This defense is going to wreak some havoc this year. I don't think we can overstate just how bad last years coaching and schemes were.
  18. If the Feds are there someone is going to prison. Shortly after college I had the opportunity to go on some raids with Federal Marshals. These guys don't show up on shoddy info and federal prosecutors rarely lose.
  19. People see what they want to see. Having watched Nassib develop and seeing most of his games at Syracuse I think he's going to develop into a solid starting NFL QB. He has all the physical measurables. What seperates the college QB's from the pro QB's are things like intelligence, work ethic, ability to pull the trigger and perhaps most importantly, the willingless to throw WR's open. Nassib has all of those attributes. I don't know if the Bills will pick him or not but I firmly believe that if he's there, and we pass on him, someday we might just regret it.
  20. I think the reason Brad Smith is still here is because of coach Pettine. Pettine knows what they did with him with the Jets and he also knows he was terribly or improperly used by the Bills. Pettine may have went to Marrone and told this that Smith can play and that Gailey is an idiot.
  21. They're spending themselves into oblivion.
  22. You also forgot: It doesn't matter how much the Bills have sucked, every player they lose was a soon to be pro-bowler. Levitre never got a mention as a pro-bowl guard but everyone believes he was incredible. No Rhinehardt leaves and the sky is falling.
  23. Our last bit of dignity?
  24. So what you're telling me is that Percy Harvin, who can't stay healthy and on the field, is worth a first round pick swap but Boldin, who was a HUGE part of the Raven's SB run and victory is only worth a 6th. That doesn't seem odd to anyone? I just can't believe he wasn't worth a 3rd or at least a 4th.
  25. This is a great deal for the 49'ers but this deal just SCREAMS of brother to brother collusion. No way the NFL can't look at this trade.
