You are right, I'm much more comfortable with an alcoholic coke addict as president.

1. People have made their decisions to vote on worse sources, ever seen an election add? 2. What difference does citizenship make? If it's true it's true, if it's false it's false. 3. Don't believe the hype on either side, do your own research. Of all the "info" in that movie here's what I find most disturbing. The people who voted for this war aren't willing to enlist their own children. When are Barbara and Jenna going to enlist? Both parties suck and suck hard.

Well as an observer who watched him dismantle the Syracuse defense, I'd say it's a little bit of everything. He still does not seem as fast as he was in college from a "top speed" perspective. I believe that it is a result of two factors. First, the overall speed in the NFL is higher and two, he's still healing. Maybe not healing in the physical sense but certainly in the mental sense. The more he plays the stronger and more confident he'll become. He may not ever get the top speed he had back again but he definitely is stronger. It's been a long time since I've seen a Bills back run through, around and over people. Willis seems to have it all and I'm sure there were a lot of players on Miami's defense that had enough of him by the end of the day. I taped the game so I watched some of his runs two or three times. He wasn't just stiff arming players, he completely knocked them down. When was the last time you saw an RB stiff arm a DE and knock him down? Willis is well on his way to becoming the real deal!

Adams Had Heated Exchange With Gray, Krumrie
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the coaches are asserting their position of authority over a fat, overpaid and underproductive lineman. Personally, I think it's about time they took control back from the inmates. Does anyone else think that Pat Williams and Ron Edwards actually played BETTER during the second half? I do, I can't remember the last time I saw Williams in on multiple plays.. -
I love the win....

I have a new favorite city
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been to Montreal several times and it's OK. I've also been to the winter carnival in Quebec which was pretty freaking insane. I've never been that drunk for that long before, and all in public. Toronto is nice as well, it's a lot like NYC only clean and it smells a lot better. I like Ottawa because it has a very European feel. B) -
I have a new favorite city

We stayed right next to the canal at the Westin. We saw a lot of pictures of people skating there in the winter but we noticed one commonality. They all looked like they were freezing to death -
I went to Ottawa this weekend with the wife and little ones and had an absolutely fantastic time. The Byword market was GREAT and the food was amazing. We spent a lot of time just walking around but did manage to take a tour of the Parliment building. I would highly recommend it for a weekend excursion. It's only about three hours from Syracuse. Unfortunately most of the drive is not very interesting. Beavertails ROCK!

What does it mean to be
Mike in Syracuse replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Practice man, we're talking about practice...practice. -
I once shot a woodchuck with at .243 Remington at a range of five feet. I was walking down a cow path and it stood up in front of me. It was so close the only thing I could see through the scope was it's face. So I did what any ethical hunter would do, I put the crosshairs on it's nose and pulled the trigger. The result was a cross between a skull dissection and a full frontal lobotomy. It was interesting seeing the little bits of woodchuck brain scattered around the ground.

Smallest WNYTBDGPS meeting ever

Perhaps you should start dressing provacatively? -
Yes, I can confirm that you are not Johnny. HOWEVER, if I get bored I might ban you too. Sometimes I feel like a nusery school teacher.
-
Johnny won't be responding, he's on vacation.

Yeah, we needed 37 threads on Bobby Shaw. Perhaps if people would take the time to actually look at the board then we could have eliminated about 20 of them. Sorry for the inconvenience but you'll get over it.

But the guy keeps you interested throughout the season. I hate this feeling but I can't help but believe that the offense is going to explode this weekend.

Bledsoe isn't our main worry
Mike in Syracuse replied to BilzFanGA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill, I agree with your assessment of the blocking deficiencies but let's look back at Flutie. RJ looked like a maple tree until Flutie came in. All of a sudden the line "appeared" to get better. Did they really block better for Flutie or were they more concerned about the little bastard getting away from them and running for 30 yards. My guess is the latter. There is simply nothing in Bledsoe's arsenal to keep at DT or DE from running full speed right at him. They are virtually assured that he will be there. As for the dropped passes, I know how to cure that. Put their sorry asses on the bench. Demoting Reed has done wonders already. Bledsoe is a great guy and a wonderful teammate. I'm just not sure that these guys are ready to die for him. -
I thought Travis Henry is a Warrior

I wonder if his "fumble" number is down because he's not getting as many touches? -
Bledsoe isn't our main worry
Mike in Syracuse replied to BilzFanGA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you that Drew has played relatively well. My issues with Bledsoe don't all relate to his ability to complete passes though. In my opinion, it's what Drew can't do that limits the offense and therefore leads to predictability. Let me see if I can explain what I mean. Drew is a known commodity in the NFL. Every defensive coordinator in the league knows precisely what he can and can't do but it's the "can't do's" that hurt him and us the most. It's a well documented fact that Bledsoe is as mobile as a maple tree. Most people look at this and say, "see the guy can't avoid a sack" which is true but only adds to the problem. His immobility allows defensive coordinators to gameplan much more aggressively than they would be able to do with a more mobile QB. Here's what I see 1. Defensive ends can rush with abandon, they have no concern about containment. 2. Defense coordinators can allow their CB's to play a lot of zone without "peeking" into the backfield. They have no worries that Drew is going to take off. This gives them the opportunity to "jump routes" and lock onto the recievers and play their hands. If you watch how DB's play McNair and McNabb you'll see what I mean. They're always looking into the backfield. 3. Bledsoe's immobilty forces a limitation in the playbook. Roll outs are possible but inneffective because the LB's are not worried about Drew taking off therefore they can be extremely aggressive. -
A poster named SimpleObservation posted the following: I know.... After every game I've said, "Man... we played decent today." "The Bills should have beaten Jax... went into Oakland and could have, should have beat the Raiders... had a great Pats team tied 17-17 until players started losing their concentration/composure... and against the Jets (I was at the game) they played solid against a very good team on the road and didn't really turn the ball over and forced turnovers of their own. The team is coming together... you have to realize it's a new coaching staff, a fairly new offensive line playing together... and they have some key injuries right now. This is the best 0-4 team to have ever played the game... even better than the 1992 San Diego Chargers." While I like the posters optimism it got me thinking. We really haven't been blown out this year. We had a bit of a collapse at the end of the NE game but it was closer than the final score. So what is the difference??? A FREAKING PLAYMAKER! We need just one guy, one fuggin guy on offense to take this team by the facemask and pull them into the win column. Lee Evan appears to be close, perhaps McGahee is the missing piece. He did have a couple of runs yesterday where he made something out of nothing? I think if he gets more playing time then he might just be the spark that the team needs. Hey don't rip me, I'm trying to be positive here!

(OT) What exactly is Hammer's Lot?
Mike in Syracuse replied to buckeyemike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a lot like Xanadu except their's no Olivia Newton John or roller skating. Maybe if you put a lot of makeup on him Hammer might look a little like.... ah nevermind -
This is the first time I've laughed today. Donahoe has turned into the Iraqi Information Minister. The questions and responses are priceless! http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=2801 Here's my favorite. I laughed so hard a had tears streaming down my cheeks: Bob A. (Amherst, NY): Who is responsible for this mess? Is no one accountable for turning this team into a sick joke? TD: We wouldn't exactly describe it as a mess. We are struggling. We are four games into the season and again we feel it's not fair to the players or the coaches to draw conclusions after four games. We realize what the problems are and we are working hard to try to correct them. We feel that this team is not that far away.

We should Trade Drew and Travis to Miami
Mike in Syracuse replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brilliant !!! So what your saying that even Miami is too smart for this? Maybe we could sneak Drew and Travis onto the Miami bus!
