Family coming from VA. Looking for 2 Saturday TC tickets
benderbender replied to bobbob364's topic in The Stadium Wall
That would still be a 9 hour drive each way. I hope they're flying. I'm an hour SE of RVA and the drives there are murder. Has inflation hit the tolls yet? That's not a thing, right? -
Does it look like Poyer was expecting boos? A few Redditors seem to think so. I’m not so sure. The mafia doesn’t control contracts and he’s not holding out.

You don't pay safeties, linebackers, or interior linemen.

This is Edmunds year to showcase that he’s got anything other than “wingspan” and “freak measurements.” If he does then pay him, if not, let him walk. -
John Cena answered this question a few years ago. He called Taiwan a country and the Chinese government didn’t like that. At the time his net worth was $51M. John Cena apologized to China because he was worried about his future earnings. So the answer of how much wealth is enough is at least more than $51M (add 9% for inflation).

So this means Deshaun gets 6 games at least?

First the NYG steal our coach, Now our Uniforms...

RIP new uniform designs -
I know nobody wants to admit it, but Tyrod = Fitz. They are two sides of the same drought coin. Different styles under different offenses. The only things they have in common is being genuinely good guys, and not having the tools needed on the roster to be successful. Other than that, it's a pick your poison scenario. Do you want a great team guy who will not lose you the game but end up doing it circuitously, or the gunslinger who will lose your comeback with a 4th quarter interception? You don't have to hate one and love the other. But you do. I'm disappointed. What would grandma say? Tisk tisk.

Harrison Phillips continues to give back to WNY community
benderbender replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe his career will have a Shaq Lawson-esqe arc to it so we can welcome him back. I always felt he had Kyle Williams spirit in him if not his level of talent. -
Everyone's favorite practice squad WR got into an altercation before the 7/16 game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts.

In the ultimate irony, I heard Jonathan Martin bullied him into retiring. Unconfirmed accounts say that he kept smacking Richie with his own hands and saying, "Quit retiring yourself!" Followed by prank calls asking him if his career was running.

Strong? Really?

I'm not sure what's more pie in the sky: that the Lions finally turn around like a pennystock that has underperformed for years, or that Chicago would finally has a coach that embraces their QB's talents instead of fighting against them. Chicago/Detroit = Jets/Miami. Minnesota = New England.

Yes, and To me, it was so reminiscent of the Rex Ryan swagger (with no dagger) years. It took me back in the worst way. Particularly in the hyped-up offseason that "we won." The only difference was that we didn't have a blowhard coach to give opponents bulletin board material. The letdown felt like familiar old times. It's so awesome that now we have a team that a loss like that was a wake up call and got their butts in gear.

The Drought is why we took the Pittsburgh loss "too hard" last season. We've had that feeling before.

Poyer is a good player. His value as an All-Pro and his synchronicity with Hyde is all that stands between him and being dealt. His wife is outspoken and his politics doesn't win him friends in a blue state. Not to mention he was on the naughty list of "non-vaccine enthusiasts" of which only he and Spencer Brown are left. You can say it doesn't or shouldn't factor in, but I'm sure if you asked Beasley or Feliciano, they'd disagree.

Locked on Bills Podcast: A Case for Tremaine Edmunds
benderbender replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
Happy for Joe Marino to get some extra clicks. I've enjoyed his podcast for a few years now and he is actually willing to reply to your questions directly. He's tried to sound like he's taking a middle ground on Edmunds which is overly optimistic in my opinion. Please don't get me wrong, I would love for Tremaine to become something more. Nothing would make me happier than for our revamped DL to wreak so much havoc that all he has to do is concentrate on his read/gaps/fits. What the podcast highlighted, perhaps unintentionally, is the pro side of the argument rests solely on two factors: he's got great length/speed and he's not easily replaceable. That's it. The cons are many: he can't shed a block by a slot WR he's not good at blitzing for his touted wingspan, he doesn't have impressive numbers of passes defended or batted down for his role--that he's been in for multiple seasons--when he misdiagnoses a play its disastrous. Maybe we're expecting too much from him but that would be a conceit that the coaching staff expects too much. he's had these issues since he was drafted. Either he doesn't spend any time working on them, or he's reached his ceiling I think Marino had the right way to approach his contract, if he doesn't make strides and is the same player you pay him as such and tell him to test the market but we have a locker for him if he wants one. Maybe he walks and we recoup a compensatory pick. If he shows some block shedding skills, bats down passes, and channels Von Miller to blitz like a banshee, you pay him to stay. -
I especially love the "he's only done what is being asked of him" argument. That's just blaming the coaching but with more steps. The inevitable next question is "why haven't they asked him to do anything else for years?" there is no explanation that doesn't make Edmunds sound slow to process plays, shed blocks, or be a better blitzer.

Gronk has retired twice so far. No reason not to expect another.

Word must have gotten around to their PR team. Was on a text chain just this morning speculating about her condition and how locals said that the worst happened. I’m hoping she could give us an update personally very soon.
