No. Why are you all so down on Tuel? For most of the offseason he has looked like the best QB on the team. I realize that aint saying much. But 2 things: (1) The best thing about a new coach, and not an NFL retread, is that he hasnt learned to fear the Patriots. (2) Tuel is a gamer. And he likes to look Downfield first, and take the checkdown only if he really has to. Since the Patriots dont have much of a secondary, I'm predicting: Bills 31, NE 28.

Advice on listening to play by play at the Ralph
maddenboy replied to Sarah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since I live in Cali, I need you to provide a live feed of yourself, that I can get over the internets. . . . please? (God I miss being at the Ralph. I was a pretzel vendor there '89-'91, walking around with my hot pretzels and mustard, up and down the stands. Free admission AND made some money to spend at Bocce's on the way home. Good times. Good times). -
I believe the TBD accepted phrasing is "Wood got extended." Acceptable variants include: "we extended our wood" (and who are we kidding? When you dont have Levitre, this is a blessed event)

Holy Crap !! He's been hiding in plain sight all these years!! I cant believe we fell for it. And I bet that, when everything comes out, it was SJBF who was secretly behind the famous "Kill Billy the Buffalo" movement. Clever, sir.
-
By this logic, we only have 4'3 more years to go, if it indeed is Flutie. Therefore, I vote SJF.

I was thinking concussion. He looked more woozy than concerned about his eye. Maybe that's "newspeak." "Its not his head, its his eye. That's why he looked disorient(at)ed"

Tuel can only play with the first team OL. However long they are in, is how long he is in. And I do mean all 5 of them. did we learn anything from Rex / Sanchez last week? This isnt the time to be cute.

SI: Ranking the NFL’s best backfields
maddenboy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As to Tier Two, I'd put (6) Eagles (7) Bears (8) Bills. Recognizing that FJ has slowed a bit. -
What? . . . WHAT? I think you are losing your Hindsight Powers. Matt Leinart retired after his junior year at USC, to become a BMOC with a couple million in his pocket. He continued into retirement by stealing money from the Cards and whoever else would pad his retirement nest. If he makes it to the 53, for whatever reason, I'll throw up a little.

NFL Cheerleaders Preseason Pics
maddenboy replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not quite enough "toe," IMHO. #50 could have me do . . . anything. === EDIT: I think the numbers change. By #50 I mean the Tampa Cheerleader who looks like its been raining and she's in her natural element. (and I'm a brotha who has never been with a white girl, but YIKES !! She's like Crack did to Pookey in New Jack City. "She be callin me man, she be callin me. She just be callin me man! I cant help it. She be callin me) -
Da'rick Rogers cleared waivers
maddenboy replied to Floridabillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No team would pick him up now. Its hard enuf for teams to cut down to 53. To claim Da'Rick would be to tell the other 75 on that team that "we already know who to cut to get down to 52, so we signed Da'Rick (a project who is better than 23 of you, who have busted ASS for us all summer)" Clearing waivers = Free Agent = free to sign with anyone. So why would he sign with us?: Positives: (1) Knows the offense a little. (2) Knows the coaches a little. (3) We believe(d) in him. (4) Applebee's Negatives: (1) We have plenty of WRs. (2) If somebody gets hurt, he might not be the first one called up. I.E.: if we keep 2 wrs on practice squad. (3) Money: another team might offer more. (4) Active Roster: Another team might (crazily) promise to activate him. Bottom line: He will sign where he thinks his opportunity is best. The bills are kinda stacked at WR. So I predict he goes elsewhere. I'd guess Pittsburgh, who is looking for a speed threat and a return threat, and has a real QB. Maybe KC. Probably NOT New England, 'cause I dont think he wants to work that hard or grow up that fast. -
And now that I've read your linked-to site, it seems you have decent content. But again, the point of content is to have a reader actually READ it. All the way to the end. Mix in some UNDERLINES, some BOLDS, and some LISTS (which people love on the internet), and your page-views will increase. Learn to DRAW the reader all the way through the entire post. This is just a part of how you make money on the internet. Advertisers want to know that your readers' eyeballs will be all over the page, to the end. And maybe to the next page(s). Write well = get paid. Write well AND write smartly for the internet = get fully paid.

feel free to PM me. Not sure how that works. I'm a lawyer, so I have some experience with language and read-ability. And if you check out my posts here, I always try to be readable. I'm born and raised in B'lo, although I live in Cali now. Always happy to help.

I don't mean this as a negative. Just constructive criticism. I really hope you receive it that way. As to your OP, you have a couple errors a young writer should learn about and never make: (1) Paragraph breaks. Nobody wants to read a large block of words online. (2) Grammar. Pick up the Little, Brown Handbook, or any reliable grammar and usage text. http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/0205213073 (a) . . . someone tries to push HIS blog. "someone" is singular and takes a singular pronoun. Think "some one of us" because we are only talking about one person (b) . . . through my site; frankly . . . . You gotta have a semicolon there, instead of a comma (c ) "I'm am only looking . . . " We know what you mean, but a good writer ALWAYS proofreads first. Same with ". . . I'm may grow as a writer." The whole point of writing, IMHO, is to have an interesting idea to convey. And when you make grammatical or spelling or usage errors, it makes the reader PAUSE, and you never want that. You want flow and readability, so, especially online, you gotta pay attention to format and grammar. Also, if you ever want to get PAID for writing, you need to show the employer that you have a COMMAND of the English language. That you are better than your competitors at conveying ideas to the readers. I wish you the best. Go you, and Go Bills.

Sweet article on Tuel, quotes from his dad
maddenboy replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree. EVERY player you sign should be considered a "viable" option. Otherwise, why bring him in? Yes, you dont "plan" for your QBs to go down. But you DO plan to have backups ready, just in case. Whaley coulda signed any of several bums, but he chose Tuel. Not as a favor, but because he thought "ya know, just in case . . . ." -
http://msn.foxsports...-starter-082713 FOX Sports: If he wasn't playing football, what would your son be doing right now? Jeff Tuel, Sr.: "I’d have to say he’d be the No. 1-ranked bass fisherman in the world, or at least working hard to get there." I love EJ. And wanted him in the 8 slot. He's the future. But I really really like this Tuel kid. I want a grown-up as my QB. Preferably one who had a 2 parent family. I think we're okay at QB.

If you were Belicheat, how would you prepare?
maddenboy replied to snydert317's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets put Stevie in the slot, then. Woods and TJ outside. Best thing about Tuel is that he prefers to look downfield first. And yes, I know NE has the best secondary in the league (cough), so lets be aggressive. Attack. -
Everyone needs to relax. Seriously. Read why
maddenboy replied to Harryhood280's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not possible. The New York Jets are now on the clock. (this is why Idzik wants to start Geno. Not that its even necessary. "Clown for Clowney" is in full effect) Followed by the Jaguars. Then the Raiders. This race could go down to the last week, and tiebreakers. -
Are we still mathematically alive?

I saw what you did there. Sounds like 11-4. Playoffs, baby !!! -
I love the throwback colors too. And I wouldnt be mad if they were the new permanent colors. But i remember about 10 years ago listening to Chris Berman on SportsCenter. He said there are only 2 teams in north america who wear Red, White, and (American) Flag Blue. Bills. Montreal Canadians. For this reason, I'm perfectly cool with Flag Blue. Can you say "America's Team?"

Ahhhh. That's better. Thank you sir. One of the few books I actually read in high school. number of book reports written >>> number of books actually read

Part of the reason I liked the Marrone hire, instead of an NFL re-tread, is that he doesnt know he's supposed to fear the Pats. He doesnt know he's supposed to lose to the Pats. He doesnt know that he's gonna get outcoached no matter what he does. --- He knows the Pats are the team to beat. So he hired a DC who has coached against them. He drafted a franchise-type QB. He loaded up on WRs since the Pats SUCK at DB. And have you watched the Pats try to stop the run this preseason? I am SOOOOOO ready to get it on.

In some ways, all we can do is leave a legacy. To affect those around us. To resonate after we're gone. Sounds like your dad got an A +++++++. Well done, Ronald F. Theel. Well done.
