  1. Nice. And do yourself a favor and also read the quoted emails near the end of the piece. Good times.
  2. bump. maybe pin this for a week or so.
  3. bump
  4. First, I still cant (wont) watch that infamous kick with the well known name, in SB XXV. I had to skip ahead in the video. I just cant do it. Second, I hated the end, where they pretend that we won the SB. Its just not . . . right? healthy? kosher? When we do it, I want it to feel like the first time. Dont ruin it for me.
  5. fyp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trey_Wingo "Hal Chapman Wingo III or Trey Wingo (/ˈwɪŋɡoʊ/; born September 19, 1963) is the co-host of ESPN's SportsCenter from time to time . . . "
  6. Or, somebody doing the work for you Function. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/161031-patriots-claim-former-bills-lb-chris-white/
  7. This. I might have been slightly under the influence when I read it. But yikes. This is an excellent piece. Please read it all.
  8. Please try to read all the posts in a thread before responding. This has been covered on pages 1 and 2. (psst: here's a hint: White knows special teams too, and it costs Belicheat nothing to try). Also, all the good teams do this. This is from PFT just a while ago. Packers play SF in week 1. Packers claim SF backup quarterback today to "run the scout team offense." http://profootballta...ime-for-week-1/ Again, as i stated above, Belicheat is trying to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. Starting with game 1. And now, evidence that the Packers are trying to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. Are we?
  9. From a couple PFT posts last month, I gleaned that it wasnt just his body that was shot. It was his drive that was shot. After he got PAID, after knowing that he was about done. Why bust A$$ anymore? Pass.
  10. "Not to pick his brain and discard him" is the line of mine you are responding to. I'm trying to say he will pick his brain and discard him BEFORE the first game. Dont want him actually on the opening day roster, and dont want to burn a PS spot for him. But you probably knew that already.
  11. Wait. What? You remember how your 5th grade English teacher said that reading comprehension is important in life? You should have believed her.
  12. Honestly, like many posters here, I'm not sure I actually WANT EJ to start. And as you can infer from my Sig, I want EJ here for a long time. If he needs an extra week or so to feel like his normal self, I say start Tuel. That's what a backup is FOR.
  13. Again, as has been posted, we got Milloy TO PLAY. Not to pick his brain and discard him. and play he did. Well. With a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
  14. Yes. That is the only reason. Welcome to . . . the real world. (in my best Morpheus voice) There was an article about 3 years ago (to lazy for linky) that Belicheat brings in EVERY quarterback before EVERY draft. To pick their brains, to catalog their strengths and weaknesses, in case he has to face them one day. THIS is being thorough. THIS is not wasting pre-draft visits on kickers and backup running backs. THIS is doing homework to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. What are we doing, exactly, to win the superbowl this year? Putting some nifty guys out there and "lets see what happens?" We need to be grownups about this. I think Whaley is a grownup. As for Marrone, we'll see.
  15. Dude, nobody is saying its not within the rules. (and b/t/w, we got Milloy to PLAY). In fact, nobody is really saying its not fair. But a few seem to be saying its not "sporting" (in my best British accent) And its not quite "if you aint cheatin, you aint tryin" because its not . . . quite . . . cheatin. MY point is that Belicheat is trying his A$$ off to WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR. Starting with game one. What are we doing? What is our goal? What is our philosophy?
  16. Understand something. Belicheat understands that Special Teams is truly 1/3 of the game. Belicheat has seen the Bills' superior kick coverage. He has seen Marquise go buck-wild in returns. Belicheat knows that ANY advantage he can gain, ANY advantage, is worth it. Think Sun Tzu Belicheat's goal is to win the superbowl this year. What is our goal?
  17. I hate the Patriots. I would bet a million dollars that he isnt on the opening day roster. And, funny, I dont want us to do the same with Tebow. It would help, but I just dont need the aggravation.
  18. Its not "kick-ass" enough. It needs to be something where the team, and the fans, just need to see it, and suddenly want to run through a brick wall.
  19. NEWSFLASH !!! This just in !!! water . . . is wet. That is all.
  20. In response to your critique of my calling Tuel a "gamer," I guess it depends on how you define "gamer." To me, its a qb who stands in the pocket and watches the coverage instead of the protection. Its a qb who looks through his progressions, preferring to go downfield first, and taking the checkdown only if he has to. Its a qb who inspires confidence in his team. Its a qb who is out there to win, by kicking the opponent's a$$, and not just to get a paycheck and survive. Its a guy who plays better on gameday than in practice. And that's where Tuel might fall a little short (probably equal in both; equally rookie-ish). But again, he's an UDFA rookie. Not Elway in the SuperBowl. Considering that, I think he's a gamer. Much moreso than Leinart or Travares or Corp.
  21. Hell, Tom Brady is one of MY favorite QBs. He's definitely in my top 200. Kidding aside, I have always found the Patriots difficult to hate. I can hate the Dolphins with ease, as if born into it, because I was. But there is a nagging undercurrent of grudging respect for the Patriots that I just cant break through. They just do shtt smart, and right. Know what I mean?
  22. (PrissyTheCat? By any chance did you go to Traditional? Its a longshot, I know, but if you are who I think you are . . . then you will know the names Tedso, Boil, Zebe, and Puh) And yes, in today's NFL, I certainly do want a QB who looks, and goes, downfield. In the old days people said "if you go downfield, 3 things can happen, and two of them are bad." Nowadays, with the rules favoring offense, I think its "3 things can happen, and two of them are good." And if the 3rd one happens, its just like a punt anyway.
  23. I really really wanted the Honey Badger too. But I did get most of what I wanted. I got my G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu grip, my Thundershift 500, my Steve Austin with the bionic eye, and my Space 1999 ship. Oh yeah, and my set of new replacement electric football players (that actually run straight for about a week or two). So I guess ya cant have everything.
  24. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/nfl-preview/need-to-succeed-drives-bills-manuel-20130831?two-bills-drive From EJ Manuel: “I just think my dad has always brought me up to be a leader as far as the decisions you make in life,” EJ said. “Do the right thing when nobody else is watching.” “I think a lot of the pitfalls that put guys I grew up with on the wrong path – things that didn’t allow them to get to the next level even though they were maybe talented enough to be here – came from the fact that they didn’t have fathers around,” EJ said in a pre-draft interview with FoxSportsSouth.com. “My main core value is being a follower of Christ – not just saying it, but living it.”
  25. Its not about defeating adversity. Its about being balanced, well-rounded, having your head on straight, not believing your own hype. And yes, I understand the arguments that the PC police will make. Knew it before I posted. But if you are willing to get beyond "newspeak" you will know what I mean, and that its worth something. For a franchise quarterback MUCH more so than for a 4th WR.
