NOTE: I just clicked on the link in "Hammered a Lot"'s sig. When I clicked on the map I got a nasty pop-up for some gaming site. The ones that say "click here to close" and when you do, it re-opens. When I closed Firefox in TaskManager, then reopened, the popup was back. Only a simple restart fixed it. Hey Hammer, maybe check on that. I havent had that happen to me in about 3 years.

My annual first few games prediction (Games 1-7)
maddenboy replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please expand on "@Miami. Lose." I'd bet lotsa money that we win this one. And comfortably. Like maybe 31-17. They have no WRs (mike wallace is a joke, doesnt care, and he doesnt run good routes, except the 9). No credible TE. They dont have much secondary. And not much pass rush. They are this year's ESPN and NFLN creation. Smoke and mirrors. -
Hopkins is Out for Week 2 vs Carolina
maddenboy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They should not kick HopSing. That's just racist and unfair. He's just trying to cook. They will be hearing from the ACLU over this. And I dont think he's going to take it lying down. This picture is from BB.com this morning, before practice: -
I finally finished my first watching. On NFL Replay (tivo, which is nicer than NFL rewind because it has a slow-motion button. But of course every game wont be on Replay). The D is stout and active. Nobody is afraid to stick his nose in there. The O is game, but not crisp yet. I watched Philly on Monday night. THAT is crisp. We will get there. When I re-watch (probably at least 2 more times), I want to pay attention to 4 things: 1) Mario Williams. I only noticed him on about 3 plays. Loafing, when it wasnt to his side. 2) The Safeties. I want my own opinion on whether we really need J.R.S. Byrd. 3) The OTs. It "felt" like they had a good game, but I wanna pay more attention. 4) Offensive Pace. Eagles had it right, and later, Kelly said it wasnt fast enuf. I hope Marrone isnt like luke-warm about pace. Kelly said one of the problems is that players should hurry up and GIVE the ball to the linesman so he can hurry up and spot it for the next play. Details. Come on Marrone. Not that you have to mimic Kelly, but be serious about the discipline of an uptempo Offense. If the D can stay good, and the O can get crisper, I dont see why we cant win 10 games.

We waited for you to . . . finish . . . "finish looking" . . . at the picture, of course is what I meant to say. And reading the article, most importantly. We forgot to factor in your nap . . . afterward. Apologies.

How best? Run directly at them? Wear them down with a fullback? Run screens to make them have to chase? I'm in though.

We got the poor man's Kuechly this year, in the second round. I saw what you did there. You Rascal !! Uh, BigCat, did you happen to see the preseason game of Panthers v. Ravens? Week 3, which is the most significant. I watched it because we play both teams in the first 4 weeks. The Panthers D-line plus Kuechly (dont know about the OLBs) was the most memorable thing from the game. Even one of the homer commentators mentioned that the Panthers are trying to do what the Ravens did, to keep Ray-Ray clean. Panthers did draft a DT with each of their first two picks this year. So far, so good. ---- That said, Bills 31, Panthers 23. Both teams score 5 times, but we get more TDs. Better QB.

Jets or Pats* on TNF - can't decide
maddenboy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
J-E-T-S. Its a 16 game season. We can still split with NE. We should sweep the Jets. The Jets arent winning this division. NE might. Anywhere where NE can find a loss is better for the Bills. -
Bills to wear throwbacks this week
maddenboy replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the Whiteout. Its so distinctive. I cant think of any other team, normal or throwback, that has it. And it looks so clean with the righteous white helmet. (Edit: DAMMIT, as soon as i typed this post, I went back downstairs to finish my tivo'ed Chargers game from last night, and guess who is wearing white on white. Ours is still better though, cause its a throwback). Really? Or are you just being grumpy? I'm sure the marketing department can tell you why. Because its Gangsta, that's why. Because kids, teens, and early 20somethings wanna look "G." That's why. (there was a big piece about it, not just NFL, on 60Minutes or 20/20 or Nightline or something, about 10-12 years ago, IIRC). (incidentally, IMHO, that's also why the Vikings subtly but surely moved away from actual Purple, toward a dark blue, for about the last 20 years. And now, the helmet is a nice matte purple but the unis are still mostly dark blue. Stupid look. Vikings are supposed to be Purple. But, as we know, purple aint Gangsta. Just ask the Ravens, who were certain to incorporate some black into their true purple unis). That said, and for that and also aesthetic reasons, I hope the Bills never ever ever wear any black at all. -
Jairus Byrd our Peyton Hillis Headache
maddenboy replied to John Belucheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reportedly, he has announced that he will not play until he is 100%. This linky says Byrd "says he is not expected to play until he is 100%" but the NFL-AM crawl this morning, from one of its talking-head reporters, did not include that cop-out language, like its somebody else's decision (somebody other than himself or Eugene). http://www.fantasysp...percent-to-play -
Jairus Byrd our Peyton Hillis Headache
maddenboy replied to John Belucheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree. I think its shrewd business sense, but bad "manliness" (if) he played hurt last year, it was to get a big contract. (If) he played hurt last year and didnt get the contract, why should he do it again? He probably thinks that even 8 games at full strength will generate better tape than 16 games hobbled (if, in fact, he is hobbled). He might be wrong, but I'm sure Eugene Parker has weighed in on the situation for him. Nobody wants a locker room cancer, so his plan is probably to keep his head down, count his money, not get injured, and sail off to the Texans next year, once they admit to themselves that Ed Reed is done. -
Bills-Cheatriots*** on NFL Replay

That is plenty. Thanks !! (translation: Bump) -
Nah, bruh. If you were born and raised in WNY, (or are otherwise a true, organic Bills fan), it doesnt matter where you go later. I'm in LA, after a few years in SD, Chi, and my first 25 in Buffalo (city of). Left in 1991. And I'm here to tell you that 3,000 miles away from that game, its still "AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH. F$ck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kill !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" -- Strap on your seatbelt sir, and please keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times. Because, imagine how you'd feel about football if the Bills left WNY. And especially if the nickname was no longer the Bills, different uniforms, etc. London Monarchs? "Los Angeles Storm? You'd feel like a man wandering in the desert, with nothing to do but wait to die. Go Bills (F$ck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). And I mean that.

Predictions - Bills v. New England*
maddenboy replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait. What? How would you feel about losing 20 games in a row to the same divisional opponent? Every single game in the entire 1970s. And yes, the 1970s was a real time. Just as real as today. And yes, we will hate them forever. And yes, Brian Cox giving Bills fans the finger. (and yes, Thurman wearing a Fish uniform) -And because of that, it was one of the greatest NFL rivalries in the 80s and early 90s. On TV all the time. Right up there with Bears v Packers, Cowboys v. Redskins, and Raiders v. Chiefs. Talking heads used to debate which of these 4 was the best rivalry in football. It was for real -

What Is The Stat We Will Need To Win?
maddenboy replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say 3rd down conversions, vs. 3rd down stops. The Patriots had the highest 3rd down completion rate in the NFL last year. AND the most 3rd down conversions/First downs in NFL history (444). http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4737815/first-downs-in-focus We need to make our conversions, to give the D a rest. And we need to get Brady off the field. -
