But, we've heard that he had the injury last year. And he supposedly "toughed it out" last year, when it was in his best interest to do so. THAT is what this discussion is about, imho. I have PF too, off and on. And it sucks. I can barely walk without limping when it flares up. But if somebody offered me $400,000 to go play some football for 3 hours, you'd best believe I'd tough it out. Or die trying.

I know sarcasm doesnt translate well to the written word. But I hope you are joking. (psst: I think anybody over the age of 10 knows that movie cold. we know, we know. His name was Frank.) ((interesting tidbit I picked up off a documentary years ago. Aahnold was originally cast as the hero, John Connor, because he was big and strong enuf to credibly battle a machine. But after reading the script, and considering his English, he decided he'd rather be the Terminator. Shrewd decision. ))

So, you mean the Redskins' 2015 first round pick? Because, of course, they traded the 2014 first rounder in order to get RG III. "In the deal, the Rams will receive the Redskins' No. 6 overall pick this year, as well as the Redskins' first-round picks in 2013 and 2014" http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7668243/washington-redskins-acquire-no-2-overall-pick-st-louis-rams

WSJ Blurb - Want to win - Don't draft a top tailback
maddenboy replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you only take a RB in the first round if, and only if, you are 1 or 2 players away from the superbowl. If green bay took one this year, people would say "uh oh. Championship." Same for Atlanta, et al. Otherwise you BUILD a team first. And a RB is not part of the foundation of building a championship team. The goal of every day at OBD should be Championship, not just Improvement. This. As long as its not a RB. This is how you BUILD a team. Give a good coach some good players and he'll find a way to use them. Shanahan and his disciples only want one thing out of a RB. Production. They dont care about 40 times or bench press or sweet highlight films. The key to the Shanahan running scheme is simple. Tell the RB "on every play, make 0 cuts or 1 cut and then go. Just go. Dont dance, dont look for the juiciest hole, dont try to bounce it outside. Just go where the play is designed to go. NOW. If you dont, we'll have you replaced." -

Dawg for the browns is excellent. Bills is not bad. But the horns need to be bigger. The Bengals look like an embryo. Or a shrimp that needs to be peeled and eaten. -
true. This HELPS you if you own Richardson in FF. And I guess the colts were planning to use their 2014 first round pick on a running back. So, no big deal for the Colts

Yes, the Germans are marching down the Champs-Elysees. Browns have surrendered. They are now in a deathmatch with the Jags for first overall pick.

Late Games: Love 'Em? or Hate 'Em?
maddenboy replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love it. But i'm on the West Syeeeed. Better chance it will be televised locally here in L.A. Only competing with about 3 other games, instead of 9 or 10. Even when I lived in Buffalo, I still liked the late games. Nice change of pace. Do something early, then hunker down and watch the Bills, then Sunday Nite football. Wouldnt want it every week, but a couple times per season is nice. -
Have you ever lived in Buffalo? Not a necessary prerequisite, but its more fun if you have homies, or other things to do before/after the game. A recent post suggested that the more you pay, the better section you sit in. And Better = Less likely to be sitting around drunk college students. If its your first time, maybe spend the max, to make it less likely you are around dumb young drunkards. To make it more likely you are sitting around people who wanna see the game foremost, instead of wanna get drunk foremost. Are you planning to tailgate? If so, there are lots of great posts on TBD about that. Also, there are great posts about Hotels, etc. Depends on where you wanna be, your transportation, how early you want to arrive at the game (i.e., tailgate or not), etc. Lastly, ENJOY !!!! We all remember our first time.

Dont waste your time on Playbook NFC this week.

Just trying to save you guys 59 minutes and 22.4 seconds, in case you were hoping to hear some Bills analysis on Playbook. That is all. -
Dont waste your time on Playbook NFC this week.
maddenboy replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have taken this year to calling it the "Cowboys and Jets Network" instead of "NFL Network." Its pretty sick how unashamed they are about it. There was a portion of a "cowboys and jets network" pre-season broadcast where, near the end of the game, one of the talking heads asked the other, a former coach: "So what do you say to the team after a loss like this?" The coach answered (Billick, Im pretty sure) about teaching situations, getting better, etc. Then the color guy said "we always hear coaches saying 'We didnt play Jets football today, or, We didnt play Cowboys football today." Neither Jets nor Cowboys was in that particular game. But the talking head had to make his points with the Network. But the Playbook shows are not about the predictions. Couldnt possibly care less about the predictions. I need Xs and Os. And that's why I feel cheated by the 37.6 seconds. Yes, they all picked Carolina. So what? Show me some analysis. In 37.6 seconds. -

On AFC Playbook the Bills game was not discussed at all. Just fyi. -
I just watched it on tivo for this week. Its a one hour show. And I really love the show. When they got to the Panthers v. Bills I got excited. And then it was over. So I hit rewind, got out my iPhone stopwatch, and timed it. From the moment they began the segment by showing the Logos of the teams, until the time they ended it, was literally 37.6 seconds. The hook was "how to fix the panthers?" The answer was "make Cam Newton the focal point of the offense because there are no other weapons." Every single highlight was Panthers. Its the NFC show, but nothing about our team? I guess its hard to fit the Bills into a 37.6 second segment. AFC Playbook is on next, but I think I know where this is going. And spare me the "you gotta win first to get respect" rehash. less than a minute on a 60 minute show? There's only 16 NFC teams. And they didnt say anything about the Bills at all. Nothing. I swear. 37.6. (Its at about the 25 minute mark, if you care).

I disagree. I posted on page 1 of this topic that i would re-rewatch the game to look at Mario, the OTs, and the Safeties. Done. Mario is a loafer. When the play is a pass, he's active only if he thinks he has a chance to get the QB. When the play is a run to his side, he tries to clog things up instead of force things, break through, etc. (some of you will say "we dont know his assignment, he has to set the edge, blah blah blah. I get that. But he can do much better). He doesnt look hungry at all. When the play is a run to the other side, fuggedaboutit. I think that word plays in his mind during the play. (and dont tell me about backside contain. I get that too. But i'm talking about his light jogging instead of running and looking for the best angles. He's basically not really giving a F***. "Oh, the runner is coming back? Well my other guys will get him") Finally, he is never ever on the ground. He's not diving, he's not tackling. Its kinda like his whole goal is to be able to say he did his job. Which is fine, except when the highest paid defensive player in the NFL isnt even the best player at his position on the field. (And i'm not crying about the money, because its not my money. But what are we getting for it? He is not feared, and shouldnt be).

Patriots Claim former Bills LB Chris White
maddenboy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shocked. Maybe they picked his brain and discovered he also had intel on the Jets. Or maybe they picked his brain and discovered he can play a little bit too. But picked his brain they surely did. -
SJ. He seems to be playing a lot in the slot. Woods is stuck outside. Against a team with decent CBs, you want the WR matched against the weakest CBs. = slot. = SJ (and btw, not only do you not hear SJ complain about being moved to the slot, he seems to LOVE it).

New Bills Logo (not really just messin around)
maddenboy replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just thinking today. What if an alternate helmet was Blue, with a White charging buffalo? The Blue has to be the same Blue as the jersey.
