  1. Unless you are trying to be funny (which this whole thread seems to be), I think you mean a reverse, not Double reverse. In a reverse, the ball carrier starts out (lets say) left, then pitches/hands to a wr who reverses the direction of the play and runs right. A Double reverse, almost never seen in today's NFL, would be start left, pitch to a wr who runs right, and then pitches again to another guy who goes back left again. With today's fast upfield pressure, I'm not sure a double reverse would work. It takes sooooo long to develop. BUT, since Sammy seems to have run so many screens in college, lets see if he can throw. Hit him with a screen behind the line, and have him fire it to somebody. Hell, he might win the QB competition, such as it is.
  2. I sure wish EJ had said what cyrus said. Either after the draft, or today, or anytime inbetween
  3. He seems to have a ponderous throwing motion. Kinda side-arm, kinda slow wind-up. Seems like he aims the ball instead of letting it rip. But based on his (biased) highlight reel, the ball seems to get where it needs to be, with decent touch. So the question becomes: do you try to fix his mechanics? If you do you might ruin him. If you dont, his ceiling is career backup.
  4. gentlemen, be nice. Its only a couple days after the draft and we are all a little giddy. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/verbatim
  5. I'll go with the most obvious. 14. 7 x 2.
  6. swing for the fences. Trying to "get better" in baby-steps has gotten us nowhere. I think because Whaley is young, he is into taking risk. Its just like how young people should invest in growth stocks, while older folks should buy-and-hold safe, blue chip stocks (like IBM). If Whaley gets fired in a year or two, he will have several offers within 24 hours. Nix, notsomuch.
  7. I think you might have it backwards. I think if you look at it thru a different lens, it becomes "The reason we traded for M Williams and were planning to move up and draft Watkins is we wanted/planned to move Stevie" Just like many posters didnt wanna draft a QB because it would take reps from young EJ, the same can be said for reps for our nice stable of young WRs. Stevie gone = more reps for others.
  8. Fortunately, they all play on . . . D.
  9. I dont care. I just want to win the SuperBowl. I dont care who we have to go through. I will always hate Miami with every fiber of my being. That wont change no matter what division we're in. In fact, that wont change even if (shussh-yo-mouth) the Bills are no longer in the league. Hate runs deep.
  10. Has Leon Sandcastle been picked yet? http://www.nfl.com/sandcastle
  11. The Bills are moving on up. For Mack or Clowney. Whaley wants to make a statement.
  12. They havent been drafting safeties, and corners-turned-safeties, for years now, . . . and letting Byrd walk, if they were gonna draft yet another Safety. If your Safety is involved in the play, run or pass, it usually means your front 7 failed. I think they want pass rush. To make the corners/safeties look a lot better. Part of the reason for the move to Kiko outside. And part of the reason to let Byrd walk. Improve the rush, and you can find a Safety to catch fly-balls for a fraction of Byrd's price.
  13. Not to quibble, but by all accounts, MACK is an excellent football player. It is Clowney who is the excellent athlete. And Mack is the hometown hero. And Mack is a helluva lot better than whoever will be available at 9.
  14. Very nice. I see what you did. You forgot Shan-Davius Williams-Williams. (or maybe I made that up)
  15. Bills trade up to 3. To take MACK. (Atlanta was going to trade to 4 with Cleveland for Mack, since Clowney is gone already). Jax can still get WR at 9 (evans? Beckham?), and/or use the ammo to trade back up later to get a QB.
  16. I think you are going to be super depressed no matter what. We all are. UNLESS we move up. I think every year we feel like we are drafting just exactly one spot below where the real talent ends (except the Dareus year). And then we have a few agonizing months to wallow in our misery. But if we move up, there will be excitement and this board will be buzzing for weeks.
  17. I said "reminds me." Not "is." Its that gunslinger mentality. Its the excitement that be brings to the offensive players. The idea that "at least this QB will give me a chance to make a play."
  18. I love Tuel. I think of all 3 of our QBs, Tuel has the best understanding of his job AND willingness to do it at the same time. His job is to throw the ball. To give playmakers a chance to make plays. It is NOT to wait for guys to get open. It is not to stare down receivers. Tuel reminds me of Nick Foles, with maybe a stronger arm.
  19. Pettine has seen SJ13 firsthand. I dont think he'd bite. But he'd prolly want Lawson, who can teach his D to his new team.
  20. I agree. But we can get one later. Later, we cannot get a LB who Mayock says is the best player in this draft. Thatswhatimtalkinabout !! Part of the dis-information campaign methinks. Another poster pointed out (I havent confirmed) that Mack did not visit OBD, and they recently only draft visitors in the first round. . But UB is like a 20 minute drive, so I cannot imagine they didnt do homework on one of the best players in the draft.
  21. We actually might need to move up to #3 with Jax. Since Pettine is a defensive coach and all, and since Cle will probably look to take a QB with their 2nd first rounder.
  22. Exactly the confidence I want exuding from my . . . "franchise" QB. Yay?
