I think maybe you're trying to stir up trouble 'round here. which is cool. That's what these boards are all about. Especially during the off-season. But methinks you arent serious or objective about harvin. He's kind of a 'tweener. And has a diva attitude. And is the kind of player, like Clifford Spiller, who needs to have plays designed especially for him. If I offered you $5,000, i'm sure you could name 40 other WRs you'd rather have. And for $8MM per season, I dont think you could name 20, including Harvin. As I said, he's not a cool locker room dude. You say its time to take chances, well I think its time to let Ritchie Incognito pull up the bad boy ladder on his way in.

no. no no no. Why? He would NOT, as you say "make us better." He is a spoiled brat. We have too many young-ish receivers to need that crap. Percy is just Roscoe Parish with about 15 more pounds of muscle. And to be clear, I wouldnt want Percy for even the veteran minimum. I dont want him anywhere near my team. Plus, we already have somebody similar on our team, but who is a better person and teammate. His name is Clifford J Spiller. pass.

Nope. People have been doing it for weeks. And it is kinda fun. Lupati. -
Vincent Jackson could be cut...

Yeah, but you gotta shorten it. Its what all the teenagers are doing. Gotta squeeze everything into 140 characters. -

(psst. Nobody is the grammar / spelling police more than I. But on TBD his name has been officially Lupati for a couple weeks, at least. Some OP misspelled it in the thread title, we had a little fun, and the name just stuck. Please use the search function . . . .) -

Works for me. Having a real threat anywhere would free things up elsewhere. Whether big TE or big WR. How's his blocking, though, because it seems that Roman wants WRs who can block for those edge runs. -
He admitted to being unprepared, which was 2 things. First, an indictment of the coaching staff. He was saying they had no intention of my ever starting and didnt prepare me. Second, it was refreshing honesty and maturity. But still, he should have been hungry to prepare himself, instead of just collecting a check to pay off his bankruptcy.

We dont need WR, but i'm surprised Amari Cooper isnt #1. I have no idea or opiniion, but now I'm curious about the #1 guy. And I do still love the move for Sammy btw

I hate the off-season around here. the combine is this month and you'all wanna talk about the past. I think i need a couple weeks off from TBD. Decompress or something.

This thread is moving away from the OP's question: Was Dareus smart to reject the deal, and can law-types chime in? ---- That said, the tangent you guys are onto is a classic law school classroom debate topic: - Should the penalty in a criminal case be determined by the outcome? The very long answer is, usually, NO. In criminal law, you punish the Conduct. The idea IIRC is that the consequence to society of the 500 drunk drivers who dont hurt anyone vs. the 1 drunk who does, is reflected in the overall punishment scheme by the legislature (not saying I agree). The result is the opposite in civil / tort law. If you commit a tort you are responsible for all reasonably foreseeable consequences, and "reasonably" is stretched pretty far (the "eggshell plaintiff" line). ----

Agreed. In my experience, the smaller the stakes, the less time the prosecution spends on it. 1) Young, inexperienced deputy attorneys need practice. If you wanna set a drag-racing case for trial, go ahead. It'll take 2-3 days, max, and that includes jury selection and probably even deliberation. 2) We cant be seen as giving favors to the rich / famous. (And gotta be careful also to not be seen as persecuting them). 3) More deals get struck where the Defendant has multiple outstanding cases. 4) Stop drag-racing on my streets. 5) The evidence is not going to change much in a criminal case. Its not like the defense is going to suddenly find an expert to blow up my case. So, my plea offer is not likely to get better. Generally, no new deal unless there's new info. 6) yes, judges generally pressure both sides to resolve a case, but they cant force it. The best they can do on day of trial is give an indicated sentence (wink wink) if D pleads. But (at least in Calif), the judge cant (really) just dismiss charges. 7) Not to be cynical, but given the above, there's not much benefit to rejecting the deal except the lawyer gets to bill more, and Dareus gets his "day in court." There's also not much downside in small-stakes cases, since the unwritten rule is that, after trial, Judges dont sentence you to worse than the last best plea deal offer (shouldnt punish you for exercising your right to trial - - - a 'rule' i always thought was stupid, and I used to refuse to tell the judge my last offer - - because part of my offer was the risk I might lose, and that risk is gone now that youre convicted).

The clear cut best option to get adequate QB play is...
maddenboy replied to Hplarrm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My mistake. I didnt cleverly decipher this thread title as an EJ supporter's thread. I am deleting my post. Seriously. Sorry for whatever I did. -
. . . or, is it that you wish we hadnt drafted a QB at all, finished 1-15 last year, so we could take Mariota or Winston? A GM would have to tank more than just a QB to accomplish this feat. ---------------------------------------------------- On further reflection, this is getting boring. And will continue for months, or even years. On this board, every QB post is as boring as a poker Bad-beat story. Different words, but always the same story. Every Poker bad beat story, since the dawn of time: "He played bad, I played good, he got lucky, and in the long run i'll take all his money." TBD QB threads: "We need a QB. Player X or Player Y or Coach or GM or Ralph sucks. Somebody fix it MY WAY"
-
not to defend John, and not to be too picky about words, but there's a BIG difference between these 2. Maybe you meant both, I dont know. I would never want a bad QB. If you suck, I cant help you. (like the quote upthread from Chan Gailey about why he cut Trent Edwards only 2 games into the season. [not benched. Cut]: "I've seen enough.") I would be happy if the Bills could find a good QB who has recently played badly. That can be fixed. And that is probably all we can hope for at this point.

Mike Glennon generating buzz as Bucs trade candidate

"ideal" from Tampa's perspective. Somebody desperate, willing to give max value for a shot in the dark. -
Does the Signing of Incognito affect Signing Hardy?
maddenboy replied to Uffalo Ills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They didnt cheat. Good players are hard to find. And they dont come available often. Downside? Rex is supposed to be a "players coach" which suggests the inmates run the asylum. There isnt much strong vocal leadership on this team (Wood, Spikes, Kyle). -
Wanna buy Rex's NJ house?
maddenboy replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bingo. Pretty boring house. Except for the Clemson themed bedroom. -

You presume EJ will be the starter on opening day. Good luck with that. -

Who is the 2nd toughest Guard available ?
maddenboy replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice. Hope this works out. Excited for next season. -
Adams just made plays.

Seriously, he's one of my favorite Bills of all time. Top 20 in my book, even though he played here only a couple years. Kinda like Sam Cowart. And Antoine Winfield. I wish we woulda kept him. He was like Dareus, but with experience and a never-ending motor.
