  1. That was like a 6th grade term paper that's written the morning its due. Why do 6th graders think they're smarter than the teacher? F+
  2. aaaaaand, PFT has picked it up. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/07/01/jim-harbaugh-is-still-jim-harbaugh/
  3. that was hard to listen to. I have been grumpy-old-man-ning about Rexy being in the media waaaaaaaaaay too much for my tastes (dont you have some actual work to do?). But if we had Harbaugh I think I'd be on suicide watch. OMFG. Who would ever want to be in the same room with him?
  4. I have been banging this drum for years. This I why I loved Tuel, and really liked Orton. They both seemed to be wired to always remember their main job - give players a chance to make a play. Treat the ball like a grenade, not like its your infant daughter. Not wait for guys to be obviously open, but rather to give these top athletes several opportunities to use their rare skills. There's only about 10-12 real QBs in the league. The others had better learn to start opening it up, in a league where the rules now allow for 3 things to happen on a pass, and 2 of them are good.
  5. This is not a negative thread. Its a positive thread to support those who might want to post . . . non-positive views. And I feel very supported.
  6. 4 games. Dont make him a martyr by letting him "confess."
  7. 4 games. Because, if he admits, he can later say he threw himself on the grenade, in the "Patriot Way," and all his fans would love him more, and argue forever that he didnt really do it. 4 games says, yes, you did it. Period.
  8. He lost me at "The free safety will line up 25-35 yards behind the line of scrimmage," but later he regained my confidence. Nice highlights of the Duke. Range and toughness. Defense isnt our problem, but its nice to talk about something other than you-know-what.
  9. I wonder if thissa meens whatta you think itta meens. I sure hope not. Yikes. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pederast
  10. . . . and we all know it. Can we please stop pretending?
  11. I'll admit I wasnt excited about the Ryan hire. I didnt want a blow-hard for this blue-collar team that Whaley has put together expertly. This article has changed my mind. Rexy is a maniac in a good way. He had a hard upbringing, like most in Buffalo. He even spent part of his childhood in Buffalo, which I had forgotten. I'm ready to run through a brick wall after reading this piece. Very well done.
  12. But it will be many years before we have a big name QB under contract. If we draft one, we wont have to pay big until year 4 or 5. No one will ever trade one to us, if by "big name" you also mean "worth a damn." So dont sweat it. And the money has to be spent, anyway. HondoInSeattle is cheap
  13. u make my head hurt. There are only 4 people on planet earth who like our QB situation. EJ, Cassel, Tyrod, Simms. (and all employees of all teams we will play this year). And we dont have reps for a 5th. And there isnt a 5th to acquire. So . . . where are you going with this? Ouch.
  14. First, Wake is in the discussion, somewhere, to be sure. Second, isnt this the players as ranked by other players? And dont they only get to rank like 50 or something? Its a popularity contest as much as a true measure. Third, do we really really really trust NFLN to report the results honestly? Instead of making sure there's something to talk about in every TV segment of 10. And to make sure every market has something to talk about? Bottom line, . . . whatevvs
  15. Get off my lawn. (and I guess I'm just feeling what I didnt like about him before he came here. I'll move along)
  16. Perhaps. And perhaps he is on cruise-control, because his retirement is set from the Pegulas. He is in the bonus round. Truly, I'm not trying to hate. But I hear Marvin Lewis, Gus Bradley, Bruce Arians, Pete Carroll, like once a month. I dont think Rexy is doing 5 interviews per week, just to take the heat off the QB situation. I'd prefer to hear less Rex, and more showing of the Baby. Just sayin.
  17. Am I the only one here who is sick and tired of hearing Rex talk? Is he on a media tour or something? Dont you have actual work to do, Rex? It seems like I hear from him more than all other coaches combined. Its starting to feel like he's a Kardashian - famous just for being famous. He hasnt actually accomplished much lately. Not trying to be a hater here, but dood, why dont you shut up and do some actual work.
  18. how you gonna pay for mathis? How you gonna justify burning all the cap space on Mathis? fuggetabboutit.
  19. Incognito gets not just Pro Bowl, but All-Pro. The writers wont want to vote for him, for political reasons, but he is just gonna be too dominant to ignore.
  20. Plusses: Rich owner, Owner's intent to keep the team in town (= not using the threat of leaving as leverage against the taxpayers). Minuses: Weak tax base. On balance, I dont think we would have the problems cited in this article. Not saying Pegula would, or should, just finance 100% of it himself, like Stan Kroenke, but Pegs doesnt seem like the type to come crying for money every few years.
  21. The largest human I ever saw in person was Reuben Brown. Saw him at a movie theatre on Main Street, downtown, probably around '89-90. He looked like he could eat everybody in the lobby and still be hungry. Large human beings.
  22. Article: Fluffy, and without any analysis of Tyrod. After 12 paragraphs he actually starts to talk about Taylor's actual play. And then doesnt say anything of substance. Video: Thank you. But its from pre-season in Tyrod's rookie year. I like that he keeps his head upfield while scrambling. He's a guy who plays the QB position. Great. Never can have too many of those, or something.
  23. TE O'leary. Teams will focus on Clay. Knowing we will favor 2 or 3 TE sets. And O'leary will be able to leak out and get open.
