  1. Whaley is the best football mind in the building. I dont think TP/KP got to be billionaires by being stupid. Whaley is here to stay. I just hope TP/KP can see that the window is closing soon and be willing to give Rexy his $25MM golden parachute to gtf outta town. We need a coach of men, not a bff of nfl players. In Whaley I trust.
  2. the very best thing TP and KP could give you is $25MM. To admit defeat and fire Rex. Who was here to feather his retirement anyway. He doesnt coach. He does interviews and rah rah speeches. I have to think TP/KP say to Doug Whaley: "okay, we forced Rex on you. We apologize. So now, who do you really think can turn this around?"
  3. please start using 2 or 3 TE sets. Healthy group. good players. And easy for EJ to hit as they are diving to the ground.
  4. time to go 3 Tight Ends. Its our most healthy unit. We have time. And when a TE is open he is usually OBVIOUSLY OPEN, which is what EJ needs
  5. mine is 100 Percent HD. in california
  6. I think this really gets to the heart of what was bothering me about the hire from the moment it happened. People were saying "we got Rex Ryan. Can you believe it" in the same way they were saying "We got Mario Williams, can you believe it?" Happy to throw $100MM at MW, but sickened by throwing $25MM retirement paycheck to RR.
  7. Every single time I hear him speak, or read something he said, I think to myself: "dont you have some game film to go watch?" Its kinda like the Rex Ryan reality tv show. Its kinda like they say about big-time college coaches, where talking to the media, recruiting, glad-handing, and being "out there" is part of the job to Rexy. Dude, its not. Do some actual work with every single minute unless you are forced, under threat of torture, to pry yourself away from work to do some stupid media thing for the barest minimum amount of time. That's what I want. Work. not constant talk.
  8. I assumed you meant Bucky Brooks. Someone whose football opinion is usually worth actually considering. (and you can prob tell I no longer live in B'lo, since I have never heard of bucky gleason before 3 mins ago, after clicking the link, which was after reading about 9 posts in the thread where I began to think "waaaaaaaait a minute, maybe this is about a B'lo hack")
  9. are these listed in order of importance? my order would be, for this Bills team to reach and win the SB: 1) 3rd down efficiency offense (by far. we have playmakers, so the more plays we can run . . .) 2) Turnover margin 3) QBR (which includes a bunch of meaningful stuff, though you can debate the weighting of each) 4) Points allowed 5) Yards per attempt (because, the lower your points allowed, the less you need to score on long passes) 6) Kicking efficiency (in outdoor Buffalo, and esp. with the new xtra point rule) 7) 3rd down efficiency defense (pains me to say it, but I think each of the above is more important. We have a very good D, but this league is about offense.) (and yes, I recognize certain obv. points, such as YPA stretches the field, keeps the D honest, and is an indicator of your o-line's pass blocking; that 3down eff. Defense generally = more offensive plays, which is the foundation of my #1 factor; and the silly argument that, at the extreme, points allowed should be first because if you always allow zero, you will always win).
  10. however, he does seem like the type who hates to be broke, and would do anything to avoid working for UPS.
  11. B - 45 f - 23 Fish get a late garbage touchdown and a few field goals. We pound pound pound, and take advantage of Suh's lack of discipline. And maybe Clay has been in a defensive meeting or two.
  12. gronk will catch 40 touchdowns. Seriously. That same bullshtt "us against the world" and "we'll use our cheating as motivation" that they had last time they got caught, when they threw for 199 touchdowns and 45,500 yards or whatever. God, I wish I had Gronk in my fantasy league. They are going to force it to him all year.
  13. U able to make it to Bills v. Jags in UK this season? That would be awesome. If you do, you could and should post here about the sights and sounds.
  14. Why do we hear Rexy every. Single. Day. Of. Our. Lives. Dont you have some work to go do? Dont you have a couch in your office to go sleep on, so you can wake up at 4 am and watch more film? Why do I feel like I'm watching Rex Ryan's reality TV show? I guess he's supposed to be a good coach, but . . . this isnt really a Buffalo way to approach a grinding-ass job.
  15. I thought we agreed on this board Months ago that "resign" and "re-sign" are 2 different things. If a guy wants to quit his job, he can resign. But no one else can resign him.
  16. Peyton Sanders and Barry Manning. The others are a distant third. In that Hon. Mention third group is exactly: Dick. Butt. Kiss. Lawrence Taylor Roger Staubach (only 'cause he was my favorite player on my first favorite team. Yes, before the Bills, even tho I'm born and raised in Buffalo). O.J. -People I'da paid to see play, and tried to outbid you for tickets. Whenever these played it was an event, no matter the opponent. Like a Muhammad Ali fight.
  17. I think there was a bond. It states Bond Type: Cash It shows the number of the bond agency And most charges have automatic bonds for most jails, so you dont have to wait for the morning to see a judge. maybe the $0 means there's no more to pay before release or something.
  18. Ogden is hella cool. Met him at a Madden tournament (no relation) once, while he was still in the league. Reminds me of QuestLove from the Roots. As cool as he looks, that's how cool he really is.
  19. I wonder if we should make a distinction between meeting them (a) when they were in the league, and (b) after. They probably mellow.
  20. okay, but seriously . . . when, in a free country, do 70,000 people change something for the sake of 2 or 4? And you can spend ur time and energy coming up with a new tradition. Like grilling your own dogs, or ordering delivery from a place in the opposite direction from traffic. And, its only 8-10 sundays out of 52. The needs of the many . . . . (and this is me appreciating the least likely post to turn into an EJ post before 5 pages in a long long time. )
  21. I'm pretty sure I heard (Chris Berman) years ago that Hooks is the answer to a trivia question: Who is the only player to score 4 touchdowns on only 4 touches in one half? I dont remember, and after a 2 minute google I gave up. And in the 3rd minute: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/197909090buf.htm
  22. Dude, we ALL know where Crystal Beach is. This is a buffalo bills forum. Just sayin.
  23. Yeah, yeah. But my problem with thurman was always that there were other players in the league i'd rather take over him. If I had one game (in the early 90s) and could choose 1 RB, he'd be in the convo, but i'm probably going with Roger Craig, who could also do it all.
  24. Per Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Shaw Shaw is the only player ever inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame without ever playing in the NFL 10. Leonard Smith 9. Tasker 8. Marv Levy 7. Cornelius Bennett 6. Smerlas 5. Sam Adams 4. Antwan Winfield 3. Bruuuuuuce 2. Jim Kelly 1. OJ Favorite. Not nec. best. But my favorite Bills to cheer for, and to want to be when I was a kid outside playing football, or would want to meet. Or be proud to wear a jersey of. Every person on this list could, and did, change games single-handedly. No WRs or CBs (other than Winfield) would be even top 25. Thurman was efficient and effective, kinda like Fred Jackson, but didnt really have star power (not excellent at any one thing) and would probably be #11 out of 10. Honorable mention to guys like Billy Shaw, Reuben Brown, Kent Hull, pat Williams, Sam Cowart, Talley, Lamonica, Kyle Williams.
  25. The issue isnt doing it. Because most/all do it. The issue is getting caught. How do you get caught, as such a long-tenured vet? I hope no longer-toothed Bills vets, like Mario or Clay or Kyle, get somehow into a situation where they have to "apologize to my teammates" etc. Guys, please pay very very close attention. Everybody does it. And everybody knows that everybody does it. But very few get caught. Pay attention, please.
