  1. Not interested in an "upgrade." Not interested in plugging leaks or being more competitive. I'm interested in winning the SuperBowl. This year. Drafting a rb doesnt give me the greatest chance at that.
  2. I think we have finally become a modern NFL team. Passing. I think we can beat anyone. But we dont dictate. Anything. On either side. We need to be able to rush with 4. And yes, well done, sirs. But
  3. I read this post before I watched. I was like "yeah, whatever." I want that jacket. I want. Now.
  4. cant remember the last time i could actually feel my blood pressure rising. Good thing there's no brick walls in my house.
  5. Miami. But it wont be in the first round. Miami needs to have a backup plan, and it would be nice to have 2 young QBs for Fitz to mentor. Since they cant get rid of Fitz (insurance), but also arent going to play him anytime soon, may as well get max value for their money. NE will trade for one somehow, or will draft one later than MIA. Because . . . geniuses can find qbs late, and they dont like to admit that they need an early first-round stud. JEST will either (1) trade Darnold for another current QB (matt ryan, Matt stafford, Garrapolo (Saleh ties) and maybe Deshawn Watson, or (2) keep Darnold on his cheap rookie deal. If he sucks under new coaching, they will draft a QB soon, but not this year.
  6. i get your snark, but i think the upshot is that the ball has to end up through the goal posts. Unless interfered with by a player, or hitting the ground beyond the posts and boinking back thru, or something like lightning hitting it or something.
  7. I think they were definitely "NFL open." Defenders were there but the QB sees that if he puts the ball in the right spot, that's a catch. That's as open as it gets against a good D. Hopefully Lamar's definition is more restricted than Rivers'. In a perfect world, Lamar's definition would be the same as Tyrod's.
  8. For Offense: I dont want Gailey or Pederson. I dont want somebody who hopes to be here for a year or two, tops. For Defense: Gimme Patricia. He has a LOT of work to do to re-establish himself. The issue is whether he is good a D in his own right, or whether he was just good at running things that BB told him to do. He doesnt seem to be a good leader of grown men.
  9. Ben is so . . . yesterday. He cannot do any of the things a new "modern" qb can do. Not a single one. Except see over most of his O-linemen. Fork. dinosaur.
  10. Poyer: Why do you/we think he intentionally let the receiver stay untouched, and is that coaching? (1) dont get a stupid personal foul and stop the clock, and/or (2) let the clock keep burning and play it clean, and/or (3) . . . maybe, just maybe, he'll try to get greedy and get back up while I'm standing right here, muahahaha Bass: Heard it said recently that the Bills drafted him as artillery. We plan to go for it on 4th downs when we are closer in anyway, so we dont need pin-point accuracy from normal distance. We need a field howitzer. Which is what we saw Saturday.
  11. This !! I was thinking how cool JA is for that. "I'm not so good or so cool that I cant follow a rookie to get my 5. And I'm going to get this 5, because I'm the team leader. You need to get this 5 from me, maybe more than I need it. I need all my troops to feel that I am their natural leader."
  12. god I hate the fish Its built in my D.N.A. Cdush you enemies
  13. wow. that's close to home. I grew up right there on East Ferry, between Nevada and Montana. 2 lonnnnnnnnng ass blocks. When I was 9 I saw, in real time, somebody get shot on Nevada. Aah, the good ol days. And to the substance of the Topic, I like the Shout song because it harkens to the early 90s when we almost won it all. If/when/when we do win it all (this year) I'ma play the shout song as loud as I can, on repeat. But then, it will be time for a new song for this new team. BTW, IIRC, Shout is only to be played for touchdowns, not FG or Safety or whatever. Am I correct? Lastly, the Shout song is available as a clip on the Bills' official app. Have it queued up and ready on gameday.
  14. There is only one record he needs.
  15. its all about the Tettle doe-ves
  16. I'm interested
  17. I also dont believe he will leave, UNLESS we win the SB this year. He has it soooo good here and he's from the area, so he'd love to be connected to our first one. If/when we do win it this year, I'm thinking I dont want him in Jax. They will have Trevor and also a relatively easy division to win. Not so if he goes to the chargers, where it will be like being in the AFCE for the past 15 years.
  18. As to Trevor staying in school, i think his people should 1) have him list teams he would actually like to play for, out of all 32, and rank them 2) guesstimate the odds that any of them would finish last next year AND would draft a qb #1 3) guesstimate the odds that any of them would be bad enuf to be able to trade up to #1, and that the projected #! would already have a qb (Philly? Chicago-ish? Jets if Darnold looks decent next year) 4) keep my ear out for whether the salary cap will be reduced AND whether that would affect the rookie wage scale. But still, he's gonna make $300MM plus during his career and he shouldnt really worry about a couple mil lost in the first couple years. I think he should come out this year. And, I think he is coming out this year, and has decided that weeks ago.
  19. no. what you describe is just a regular no-rebuy tournament.
  20. Its called a freeze-out tournament. They were super common during online poker days. Since you could play several per day and develop actual skill at that format. Most common as 1 table tournaments or small number of entrants.
  21. Jim Schwartz. Some argue that he is not HC material, but as a DC he is in his element. I think he's too talented to not take a shot that he learned tons from his HC failures. Including the need to delegate and be a true HC. I mean, at times it felt like he was the actual leader of the Bills.
  22. There is exactly one team in the NFL that this applies to, for any Bills fan older than 35. OP's reasoning (with his addendum later in the thread) is otherwise sound and welcome. One of the great benefits of being a Bills fan is that you have a true arch-rival, deeply hated-in-your-bones team. For us, a week isnt complete unless the Bills win AND the Fish lose. Most teams dont have a true rival. So yeah. If we have to win so the Fish miss the playoffs, I'm all in. If we have to lose so the Fish miss the playoffs, I'm all in. Otherwise, cant do it.
