  1. one of the jobs of a play caller is to not call plays that, while sexy, you know the team cant execute.
  2. There's a difference between "play caller" and "play designer." Not sure I love Daboll's play-calling.
  3. I do see what you did there. Also, completely unrelated, i'd be remiss if I didnt say . . . Boogie.
  4. -the first Star Wars movie, back when it came out. There was competition among people to see who could see it the most times. I got to 9, and have seen it lots of times since then. -Enter the Dragon. (and i never had my kids fall in love with a movie, which would have required me to destroy 1.5 hours watching it over and over)
  5. There is nothing "Process" about the whole situation. From the hold-out, to the deletions of Team stuff on his media, to "leaking" this stuff out, etc. Plus, as posted above, McBeane are investing in high draft picks on the DL so they DONT have to break the bank at the position(s). So pass, and its also not gonna happen. I do like his play though. Or am I remembering who he used to be, rather than who he is going to be in the future?
  6. or, what if BB said: "hey Cam, do the team a favor. Pretend to get a flesh wound early in practice. We wanna see how Mac does if he has to come in cold and work with the Ones." wouldnt surprise me. Also to see how Cam will take to seeing Mac at the helm, after Cam is pulled in mid game, or mid drive. But then, I admit I subscribe to the 'evil genius' narrative.
  7. disagree. that's what screenshots are for. And Agents.
  8. Sooooo, 808, based on the above video are we saying that we didnt draft a "Big Nickel" because Tremaine is already that? serious question. because if so, then we are all evaluating him wrong. And if so, maybe he is more valuable than we nay-sayers think.
  9. It seems like he is a tweener, who thinks his best chance in the NFL is to "make plays" instead of "make catches." Does he see himself as a fat wide receiver (Antonio Gates), or a skinny tight end (Jimmy Graham)? It seems like a true, natural tight end sees himself able to naturally do both. Always catch the ball first, and so big and strong that good things will always happen thereafter, whether he has to run past guys or over guys. And even falling like a sack of concrete is still an awesome result for a true TE mindset. Move the sticks, dominate the middle of the field.
  10. I'd settle for pro-bowl caliber if it werent a popularity contest. The Bills do seem to be wedded to him. Doesnt mean love. right now they are stuck with him. They dont seem to be as negative as we posters but that doesnt mean they love him. They loved him when they drafted him, for sure. And i'm tired of '23 years old." Where is the mental growth? his body is the same. his play is the same. I dont see any positive trend except the Bills havent and wont cut or demote him.
  11. hail naw. And I get the posters who argue that this is not the age nor the defensive scheme for Dick Butkus or Ray Lewis. But still, show me some fire. Make mistakes at full speed, instead of tippy-toe moves to make sure you arrive eventually at the right place or whatever your flawed decision tree requires.
  12. but. but. but this is exactly why those of us are so down on him. precisely because he has the tools. Look like Tarzan, play like Jane.
  13. Starting to think its a combination of these. Ertz agent knows that nobody is trading for that contract. He has a wink deal with a couple teams for after Ertz gets cut. If we are one of those teams, then this is a "Show Me The Money" move. Otherwise it didnt have to happen today. But McBeane cant just say 'trust me, I'll have the money when the time comes.'
  14. Seems like McD is going out of his way to praise Eppy's look. So either 1) Eppy wasnt in shape last year and McD is giving the ol' "atta boy" positive reinforcement, or 2) Eppy is where they want him but maybe Eppy or the fans dont like this new look, so McD is signalling us and Eppy to understand that its by design.
  15. No. During the drought years, I often questioned whether i was just "rooting for laundry" without regard to who was in the Bills laundry. just please win. Now I root for JA 17 and the Buffalo Bills. If Mahomes put on a Bills uniform (while JA was still alive) it would feel like rooting for laundry again. JA is my QB.
  16. a sudden position change from Tight End
  17. Chicago is my backup team. Since the mid 80s. Half my family moved from Buffalo to Chicago, including me for 4 years. I'm looking for them to be at least interesting this year. (and the Bears, too). -Aaron Donald. Because he's the best non-qb in the NFL and I like for linemen to get attention. And when I watch the Rams, I cant take my eye off him. -Fitz. No reason needed.
  18. I actually want the Pats** in week 2, and in Foxboro. I dont want them to have all off-season to prepare for us. I want them to have only 1 week. I'm guessing that our 2nd Pats* game will be after their bye, so they can have a full 2 weeks to transition from Cam to Jones (since that is the best time to work an new QB in). But most likely, the NFL will give them a cupcake instead. Jests?
  19. There's prolly some real truth to this. Morgan knows our players well, so he'll have comfort with them. And conversely, if we dump somebody and the Panthers dont scoop him up within 12 seconds, there's prolly a good reason.
  20. I'm thinking that our waiver priority is 30/32. So unless we are worried about the Chiefs or Bucs claiming him, we can just wait. Also, putting in a claim kinda signals to the league what you are in the market for. Might be better to play that closer to the vest.
  21. SPOILED. I was getting kinda excited to put it on my to-do list for this offseason. Until you told me the result AND all the other stuff that will take so much of the fun and drama out of it. I'm not repeating the details here because, hopefully, you'll edit.
  22. The schedule 'reveal' is kinda dumb. Who cares in May? But the NFL likes to act like its dramatic. If I HAD to guess, I'd say Bills v Fish week 1. So that round 2 can be in sunny Miami, just in case both teams are TV draws by then. And they wont put NE in a good game until Mac Jones can be brought up to speed. Wouldnt be surprised if NE's first 2 games are out-of-division, for that reason, and to give NE a chance to compete for the division.
  23. Kudos to the teams (seems like all 32) who did NOT leak this info to the press pre-draft. JOK's personal medical business. Or, cynically, since all 32 presumably knew, maybe there was no reason to put out the info in order to make JOK's stock drop artificially, so some team could have him fall in its lap.
  24. Thanks. That was pretty fun. And I do hate the Browns for stealing everybody I wanted.
