  1. As far as a Cancer in the locker room, I think this is a road worth pursuing. A couple thoughts: 1) it can easily be more than one person. Spreading, or started in multiple spots 2) I think we should identify the symptoms, which would help in finding the cause. The main symptom seems to be playing without urgency. The 2nd is mental errors (to your point about the venn diagram upthread) 3) It is likely someone with influence. Not somebody that the good, core players would tune-out. 4) I would add to your friend's idea about underpaid vets, the idea of over-paid players who dont love the game and have essentially checked-out. So, if this is a thing. If. I'd be looking at somebody like -Ed Oliver, who imo doesnt love football. (a poster today discussed him yukking it up on the sideline while getting steamrolled) -Star. even though he plays hard, maybe the players dont like his attitude re: covid and doing what's best for his own $$, true or not. Sometimes players might think "i dont care how good he his, i'm sick of him being here" -AJE (because they made him completely change. maybe he has a grudge and thinks he'd be better off on a team that would let him be himself), or -considering the biggest problem on the team, someone or two on the O-line. That unit requires chemistry. That unit is failing badly. The rbs know it. JA17 knows it.
  2. Its great that we play last on thursday. I plan to not watch it live. Since we play last, there's no danger I'll accidently get info about the game until I can watch the replay friday morning. I can watch the first 2 games (or not) and then actually enjoy watching the game on Friday at a normal flow. The commercial breaks are no longer do-able. Zero flow. it feels more like i'm watching a highlight package, not an actual game. Diving for the remote to hit "mute" on thanksgiving with greasy hands. Having to have an alternate channel to flip to during the incessant breaks.
  3. I live in LA. Superbowl will be here this year. Was telling a fellow bills fan that if he wants to go to the game, Cardinals would be the cheapest ticket (of teams reasonably likely to make it) But that's exactly opposite of the poll. To me, Cardinals are the least desireable for fans (of teams reasonably likely to make it).
  4. star If we stop run, we slow down play action. I dont think Wentz is a good enuf pure passer to outscore us by himself
  5. For me, even worse than the video, is the realization that this exact thing will happen several times today, and several times every day, all around the world. With no video.
  6. This. He was must-see-tv Also, they can tout his actual and recent GM experience Also, they can purchase his . . . loyalty as a witness in the Gruden lawsuit Also, If i'm Mayock's agent I am demanding and getting an even higher salary than before.
  7. agree. with tremain edmunson out, jests might look to exploit the short passing game in the middle of the field. Because apparently, Trevaine Endrickson's long wingspan shuts down passing lanes, so his absence might embolden whichever jests QB wants to try his luck.
  8. All of our rooting interests could win. Seriously. Not just as an 'any given sunday' or LAMP for just in case i'm right. I was really reminded by the Rockpile review @Shaw66 from a couple weeks ago about how, after November 1, its time for Real football. If you look at who plays harder, you get Vikings over Chargers. You get Lions over Steelers. And for the other 4 games its debatable who plays harder football, but in each of those games our team (this week) has the better QB (because Tannyhill doesnt really do much, and without D-train running for 250, I dont see Tanny winning anything on any field at any time [or maybe he hasnt shaken off the Miami taint in my mind yet]).
  9. seems like a good chess move -as the Rockpile Report noted a couple weeks ago, now is the season of real, hardnosed football. Combined with McBean building this team to peak in December/January, lets let Edmunds rest. -Not to say the Jests are a cupcake. But maybe I'm sayin it. -If, as some are discussing upthread, the backups play with their hair on fire and have statement games, maybe this will motivate Edwards to 'leave no doubt' when he gets back. -Edwardsdmunds did seem to be trending toward arriving at plays more on-time this year, and wanting to do more when he got there. So let him rest it up so we can get a full look at his evolution before this off-season. (Edit: what does it say about me that I STILL cant get his name right. Or, what does it say about his lack of leaving an impression on me?)
  10. why is that video 1.5 hours? what are the good parts? And why didnt they hurry up and get him to the station to test his blood alcohol level?
  11. 1) she cute 2) what had happened likely wuz she caught his ass cheatin with another chick in his house. So she broke in the crib (before or after the discovery) and a fight ensued. The other chick was likely involved but likely doesnt have millions of dollars. 3) she a Sergeant in the military so she can probably fight a little. Self-defense anyone? Also Florio says Minnesota has a stand-your-ground-in-your-home rule.
  12. This, and Florio has been saying without saying, but saying that Odell wants Seahawks, Bucs, Saints, in that order. And they engineered his new contract to basically make it too big for anyone to claim on waivers, but easy enuf for one of the above to fit into its cap without too much headache. And IMO the saints would be stupid to do it. They have no realistic shot this year. But Jameis do love the deep ball and he's good at it. Now he just needs an ACL so he can get Odell the ball. And Sean Payton would find ways to get him the ball no matter what. And firing a shot at Michael Thomas. Bucs already have their Antonio Brown, in Antonio Brown.
  13. I think I love our DL rotation. I think our playoffs and superbowl chances go down against pocket quarterbacks. I dont worry about our Run defense at all. We have good edge rush when we need it. Especially with front 4. But it seems like we get no pressure up the middle. So against a pocket QB like Brady or Aaron Rodgers, who just nimbly step up into the middle of the pocket as the edge DL flies past, we are in troube rushing 4 because somebody eventually gets open. Against 'move' QBs we do better because of youth and rotation, and 'move' QBs allow us to focus only on the move half of the field for coverage focus on passing downs.
  14. would it change if they moved back to St Louis? Or, would they have to have never left St. Louis? Because I kinda know what you mean.
  15. voted NJJ vs NE* since I want to know about both teams, I can go back and read that thread during the week, for observations I miss if I either dont watch it or re-watch it before we play them. Otherwise dont care. Especially dont care about KC vs Tenn. By the time we see either again, they will both be very different teams, and we will too.
  16. I disagree. Seems that position is critical for a team that needs to win the field position battle. Which we aint
  17. BUF 26 HOU 16 I expect a lot of field goals here. I expect the Bills to be a little overconfident, which will lead to frustration early. Which will lead to taking the easy 3 pointers to continue to build a lead and keep momentum. HOU does seem to play hard. Hou gets a lucky TD somewhere because, any given sunday, but it comes late.
  18. yeah, but who would want to buy or move a team. Into the relative dump that is soldier field? This news about the bears does not mean the bears would stay at soldier field and some new team would come to their town and build a brand new stadium. Also, kinda like the San Diego Charges of Los Angeles, it would be hard to convince fans to support a 2nd team.
  19. They only agreed on a Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA). Basically, the bears locked up the property so they can explore things like Enviro, zoning (shouldnt be a problem), infrastructure, market research, seismic studies, etc. The PSA will typically include a ton of out-clauses, for which the Bears will have paid in advance, and might also include liquidated damages for when the Bears back out. Its basically an exclusive option to purchase. -To the point, I wonder how rich the Bears ownership is and can they credibly bluff that they are gonna build a 2-3 billion dollar project. -Or, I wonder if this new PSA for the new site will entice a super rich person (Bezos?) to buy the team.
  20. I am a Star detractor. for the past season and a half. But this year, when I look at him rushing, Not only is he getting push every time, but it seems like if he's 1-v-1 he tries to lean toward another O-lineman to actually invite the double-team. Which I love love love. Star is scoring points with me at a fast rate.
  21. blah blah VIKINGS blah blah. Been saying this for months.
  22. I expect lots of pass rush, 5 and 6 rushers, IF tape study shows that Heinieke panics or never gets off his first read. But if he has good feet, patience, and steps up in the pocket correctly, then . . . I expect DL drops into disguised coverage, with 4 man rush, IF tape study shows Heinieke makes terrible reads / decisions / throws. Basically, let him beat himself. Play to his weakness.
  23. This. The test is easy. When they played NE vs Fish recently, just go back and watch a series or two. Then you will know. I was not conflicted at all. That aqua/orange makes me want to do very mean things to them. Hell, I'm almost mature enuf that i've stopped hoping for every dolphins player to get injured. Every week. Lastly, the very worst week for me is after both the Bills lose and the Fish win. If Bills lose but Fish also lose, then i'm at least mellowed out a bit.
  24. seriously. Never. Not "unless x" or "once in a generation" or "advanced metrics" or anything. Never.
