  1. This is a great idea.... trade Shepard for a guy (Hughes) that then out produced Shepard by a long shot... for a 4 round draft pick that may not work out.

    The logic is stunning.

Worse yet... lets trade him for another middle of the pack TE and hope we strike gold. It is rare that trades work that well. Usually you trade your guy (a dog with fleas) for another team's dog with fleas. It is all built on hope, or else the other guy would not have been avalible in the 1st place. Unless Huges is part of a package (draft picks) that brings us Drew Brees or someone like that... why mess with it.

Hughes is decent and we struck bronze (not gold) with him... leave him be. Rely on the draft and FA.

  2. We need to just take the best guy that has the fastest chance to develop into a super star. Kiko would now be drafted as a top 10. So even if a bonified future HOF'er running back is there you take him.

There is not one position on this team that is lock, so you draft the best no matter what in 1st round except maybe DB, and kickers. Pick you posistion.

LT.. Glen can move inside or to RT for some one better,

OG... Imagine a lights out HOF between Woods and Glen. Even CJ can hit those holes.

WR... please, anyone of them can be cut to make room,

QB... upgrade if you can. EJ is ok, but if your analysis shows someone with higher long term greatness... you do it.

RB... the clock is ticking on Freddie & CJ is a little bit of a question mark now, If the potential is better than CJ you do it.

TE... who is not on board with that?

DL... lot of nice players, but Darius is in a contract year and how much longer does K. Williams have in the tank

LB... Kiko can be shifted around,

CB.... leave lone pick up a late round pick

    S.... Byrd is gone.

My point is there are some very nice players on this team. No one truly great. No one that can't be moved, shifted or traded for a truly great rookie.

  3. I also like the idea of TD are 7 points, extra point is still one, Field goals are 4 points past the 50 yard line. Then 3 points under 50 yards. Two point conversion should be 3 points. The riskier the call the higher the point total potential.

I like hockey wins to be 3 points in regulation. 2 points for OT win, 1 point OT loss.

  4. Man, can't we just see another year... see how the team responds. See if EJ progresses. Even a discussion to replace him is silly at this point.

We don't know yet... He could be the next Bill Cower or Vince Lombardi...or he could be the next Rich Kotite/Hank Bullough/Marty Mornhinweg.

What scares me is he could be Chan Gailey... just competent enough, but not great to get amazing results out of average guys.

  5. We need a top flight OG or Top flight TE or LB. Anything else is a waste for a 1st round pick.

You could make an arguement for once in a lifetime WR... but I dont think there is one in this draft. I am ok with our D-Line, FS, SS, CB. On offense we need O-line, TE, WR. TJ and Goodwin are nice but not pro-bowl WR. Kyle Williams is gettng old and will break down eventually. This draft should be all offense... Give EJ tools, then decide on him next year.

  6. Why move on? You have the makings of a great defense..... One or two more pieces and you have a #1 defense on your hands. Then you have a better team that you want to be the head coach of, not just the worse team with the most recent firing.

If the offense hits a homerun or two in FA or draft... you have a huge rebuild total team on your resume. He is not going anywere... yet!

A #1 defense and #12 offense gets us to the AFC championship game.... then you have your pick of HC jobs in college or the NFL

  7. I only go to one or two games a year.... I love going to games..... but it is sort of a hassle. Really it is my dad that started noticing it. Just weird luck. I bet next year I will go and they will lose but make the playoffs... bittersweet.

I was also right about something big happening. Defense was rock solid and looked like a top 5 defense.

  8. Look, there is no such thing as a jinx. Just because I ran over a black cat with my car has nothing to do with the fact the transmission fell out an hour later.

The time I walked under a ladder had nothing to do with the ladder falling on me.

The broken mirror and the 30 stitches might be connected... but that had nothing to do with 3 deployments and a divorce in 7 years. It is all BS.

    :wallbash:

  9. I have never been to a losing Sabres game. I was at the game on Tuesday. My dad have never been to a losing Bills game. We are going to the Miami game. My brother, who is also going, was at the Houston come back game. I was at Joe Montana's last game.

Something big and positive is due to happen at the Ralph this Sunday. It is weird... I dont know what it is.... but something big that sets up the Bills for future playoff runs is going to happen. Anyone else feel it? Or maybe it is that chili I had last night.............
