Changes in player weights
Chris in Syracuse replied to ....lybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking the exact same thing. He seems to have a good motor and the desire. I find it hard to believe he chose not to gain weight. -
There is no way he will survive at his current position at that weight. I read articles from a few months ago saying he was 245 and wanted to be 255 for camp. I got this weight from from their website. I was kind of hoping he would do something but at that weight there is no chance. He may have to be moved to safety or cut outright. Another high pick wasted.
-
I would like to see him get down to about 360. I think with our staff and the grind of training camp he will drop some weight and be monitored on his diet. At 360 I see I real chance of making an impact. I don't see 390 cutting it. I know he is athletic but he is asking for too many health problems at this weight at an NFL level. I don't know of any 390 lb successful lineman in the NFL. Do you?

Next season, what about now!

Ever notice the Bills play with half of a team???
Chris in Syracuse replied to DUFF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depends on who you are playing. KC has a real good defense. NE has a real good offense. Baltimore has both pretty good. I was pretty surprised we did. This week Chicago has a good defense so I don't think we will score a lot. -
Little something to keep an eye on........
Chris in Syracuse replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really depends on if his skills are really declining or just that real nagging knee injury. I was thinking that, after listening to Chan Gailey talk about how he has been playing when most players would sit makes me wonder if he is any good when completely healthy. I would at least bring him back next year and let him compete. If he totally stinks or gets hurt again then cut him. -
OK, I've Seen Enough of George Edwards' "schemes"

Is it insecurity on the part of Gailey? I can't figure why he didn't try to hire someone with more experience. Who was available that was better? I can't think of anyone who fits the description but Gailey and Nix made a huge mistake. Is Gailey afraid he would be overshadowed by a dominant defensive mind? If we have any shot at winning we need a guy like Wade Phillips. -
Bend over and don't freeze the kicker
Chris in Syracuse replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is much easier to second guess that decision since he made it. What if he missed like LAST TIME! -
That was the worst run defense I have seen by an NFL team EVER! They deserved to lose. That being said I really thought they were finally going to do it and win. I am stunned right now.

I think we all share your worry on the defensive side of the ball. -
Codero Howard to Start At Right Tackle...

Unless you have the #4 pick and Mike Williams is on the board! -
Who are our back ups at RT and LT?
Chris in Syracuse replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am going to go out on a limb and see you are talking about our starters. You are absolutely right. I got my hopes up and thought Wang may be our diamond in the rough LT of the future but a back up guard is what we will have to settle for. -
It just dawned on me. If Wang is now back up guard #14 (at least it feels that way). Urbick is a back up guard. Howard was a back up guard/tackle now he is in for Greene. We have no one to back up both critical tackle spots. On the bills web site it says Wang is backup LT and Howard is back up guard. We just signed someone Wrotto. I guess Levitre can back up if in a pinch and Urbick also but I think we may be in trouble if we have one or two injuries to our tackles. We could go from Worst to what ever is worse than Worst. What the F&%#!

CAN'T TRADE 1ST OVERALL

I can think of a few multi billionaire owners who might disagree. They have been doing it for year, why stop now. -
Bills will TRADE top pick next year
Chris in Syracuse replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am basing this on our cash to cap strategy. Ralph himself has gone on record many times saying we cannot afford what bigger market teams can afford. My idea is he could get a lot more for his money and rebuild the team faster while saving us money. This philosophy also agrees with Nix wanting to build through the draft. I will gladly engage in debate but personally attacks should not be welcomed on this or any board. I don't feel any of us are self abused fans and I take offense to that comment. You should apologize. If the rookie cap is in place I agree 100%. I just have heard it speculated that the deal will not get done for this years draft. If they can get it done by 2011 I totally agree. That post took a lot of thought, didn't it? Why is this speculation received with something as thoroughly profound as "being such retards"? -
Bills will TRADE top pick next year
Chris in Syracuse replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If those are my choices I'll go with steaming entrails of fatted calf with a little chianti and some favre beans! My logic is: if the rookie cap NOT in place until 2012 (that is what is being speculated) Ralph would not want to pay $50M plus seeing our cash to cap philosophy unless the they truly felt the next Manning/Bruce Smith/Tony Boselli type was available which I do not believe is the case. Therefore why pay $50M in 2011 that we may get for $10M in 2012. This is assuming we are still rebuilding in 2012 and have a top 3 pick. I want us to win the Super Bowl in 2012 but I frankly see us still struggling mightily next year. I don't think trading a top pick is a "dream scenario" . I respectfully disagree.
