  1. this is really interesting. this guy measured his speed and it was very fast. what explains the differences in users experiences? unless there was trouble with specific video processors in hardware (apple tv, chrome dongle etc) it doesn't make sense to me. and that doesn't make much sense either if other streaming video has previously worked fine on the same device. and all the nfl says is that they're happy. their credibility lessens by the minute. time to check out avs forum and see what they're saying.
  2. absolutely. had he watched this on a 108 inch projector, he would have noticed much more artifact. there was plenty on my 42inch set up. I didn't try the pj as by the time I got home the game appeared not to be worth the trouble.
  3. "I don't see the Pats spending a 1st on a late 1st/2nd round QB. But these are lottery tickets. Sure fire QB's go top 3. Once you are drafting mid 1st and later you are buying a lottery ticket and hoping". you might want to edit this post then.
  4. what odds are you giving. i'd likely take that bet. not many db's from teams with horrible pass d's make the pro bowl.
  5. huh? by your own definition, since ej was 1st rounder he wasn't a lottery ticket. and by your own definition of what constitutes a lottery ticket, whaley hasn't taken a single one. and no. the question was "what would the pats* do?" someone else answered correctly for you. they took a qb in the second among several other picks in recent years that meet your criteria for lottery tickets. this is the logical and historically successful approach to obtaining good qb's. whaley ignores it.
  6. and what are the odds any of the make it this year? slim to none. that's pretty condemning. nice stat.
  7. what do you think the pats* would have done in this situation? they keeping drafting qb's and they have...well you know.
  8. not fact, opinion, and a reasonable opinion to consider. just as or more reasonable an opinion as those saying here that manuel just needs more time to develop at the beginning of the season. I watched some of the dallas game. I think fundamentally, cassel is the better player. it's widely reported that the bills coaches did as well. and it's not just local guys reporting it. there are links to national stories on this on threads here.
  9. why is it that when manuel has bad days, many here say he just needs more time or you can't judge him on one game, etc. it's being said even now. cassel has a bad day and it's proof positive that he's a bum. seems a double standard and a lot of wishful thinking. look, neither manuel or cassell are great or even good qb's. it's sad that we were in the position to need to pick between the 2. but many, including sports writers and commentators, are suggesting that cassel would be less likely to lose the bills games like manuel did yesterday. I think that's likely true.
  10. a genius doesn't produce a 3-4 team with a loss to one of the worst teams in the league while having a very high payroll. I think we can very safely conclude he's no genius. the real question is whether he is a desirable or even adequate gm. I suspect a majority of league owners would say no at this point. they'd likely look elsewhere if wanting to make a change.
  11. i'd have rather had polian. I think watkin's attitude is a problem as well. he's not performed like moss or owens yet his public complaint about not enough looks shows the same arrogance. even when you've proved yourself to be at that level, it's not a desirable trait for a team player. whaley could have done as well or better waiting and saved a pick. it was an outrageous and cavalier move.
  12. i don't recall a single post saying he was great here. being better than manuel does not make him great.
  13. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/21669/ej-manuels-meltdown-puts-bills-trade-of-matt-cassel-in-spotlight Adam Schefter ✔@AdamSchefter Bills coaches going to be angrier than ever about trading Matt Cassel - and they weren't happy before...
  14. clearly he handled it badly. my point is that whaley might well have been the reason he left. but you knew that.
  15. i doubt it had anything to do with your interface. hdmi connection has less to go wrong.
  16. macbook air to apple tv to 1080i dlp tv. same thing. the drop off to 480i was frequent and obvious. also some buffering, jaggies, freezes and lag. watched a vudu movie last night without any issues.
  17. only a bottom feeder team or one needing a short-term band aid takes chance…unless whaley keeps him.
