  1. encouraging and disappointing all at once...but more encouraging
  2. i'd buy some to keep the bills where they belong and proudly hold an interest in the team
  3. but this is far from a universal response to similar shared experience as a soldier. some of the worlds most stauch pacifists were formed from soldiers during wars
  4. i've read testimonial books by soldiers ending up on both ends of the political spectrum...i'm sincerely interested. can you expound on this?
  5. yes, because yelling "yo" to a sweaty sports bra wearing female is almost the same as ritually, rhythmically stepping face to face with a beautifully dressed, coiffed and scented woman. and because i'm never surprised to see so many fine young men at weddings or ballrooms at 5 star hotels like the homestead or greenbriar that can dance with such grace. you're right, the secret's out.
  6. has he actually been fined for his "indiscretion"? can't find any actual proof. maybe too early? hope not.
  7. my religious beliefs (Catholicism) and the example set by the sisters and priests during my formative years, watching real suffering on a daily basis for years in my job, the influence of one of the kindest and smartest people i know: my wife.
  8. i agree, accept that this show has tried hard to be controversial this year. i mean does teenage pregnancy really qualify someone as a "star"? if so, then the US is full of em. they have been highly successful though, to the detriment of the dancing, contestants, viewers and show in general...everything worsened but the ratings. so the art aint what it's really about....but, i get what you're saying. in a more basic form, it's healthier entertainment. unfortunately, no where near 20 million people watch serious, commercial free dance competitions on pbs where many of the same pro's from dancing with the stars compete (and are often also rans).
  9. well, i have to agree with the traveler to some extent. i dislike unilateral changes in travel plans...makes you feel helpless. like when they change your flight by twelve hours and you don't notice that its not actually just a few minutes...
  10. a word of advice for the young casanovas out there...take some dance lessons, especially if offered at a local college. we go to a dance once a month at one and the college girls outnumber the guys about 3:1 (most of the guys present are there with dates, so the others don't have partners and are just waiting for someone to ask them to dance). i'll help out occasionally but with very "careful" hold and frame so as not to raise any eyebrows or dirty looks from my wife! if you can get over the initial embarssment, it's well worth it. once you have the basics, salsa clubs or two step joints can be a hoot. i wish i'd have learned much earlier. and yes, bristol is relatively bad. for the amount of private instruction and time put in she's pretty weak but much better than where she started. but i'll bet she continues dancing after the show and continues to enjoy it. out of the "competitive" setting, she's just fine as a dancer.
  11. did i miss something? looked like a palm heel strike to the chin. from somebody with seymour's strength, that's pretty likely to make anyone flop.
  12. i find this somewhat plausible but wilson publicly stated his desire to get a top rookie qb and tasked nix with it. it's gonna happen. you can't teach an old, stubborn dog new tricks.
  13. the 4 cylinder turbo on the genesis coupe starts at $22000. that seems an outstanding value to me. if i were trading i'd look at this car first. i leased one of the first TT's delivered to my local dealer. very fun car that turned heads and i really liked it but had some electrical problems even in 2 years. when i handed it in Audi held back $200 of my deposit for scratches UNDER the car. will never buy/lease another Audi or VW.
  14. they showed it on redzones replay of the last td. another woman came to her defense but they didn't show what happened next. anyone know?it looked like it was mostly bills fans left so i expect the punk got his hat handed to him.
  15. win...almost every time. the only exception being games against back ups like last years final game. nothing gained there and draft position lost. but today was fun to watch and keeps hope alive for the future.
  16. it's a real looker...reminds me of a lexus. if you don't need a back seat look at the hyundai genesis coupe, a colleague has one and it's awesome..basically an infiniti g35 clone for significantly less.
  17. simply great...guess i'm gonna have to spend some real money now. change is gone.
  18. definitely lesser known but popular at appalachain music festivals..nice folks too!
  19. some amazon recommendations after my recent selections: KT Tunstall, Missy Higgins, Grace Potter and (how could i have forgotten)Gillian Welch.
  20. geez. had more pennies and nickles in the bag than quarters. amazon only had this as in import cd for $30+. damn good, but i'll wait for the mp3's. you guys took me seriously when i said obscure. but got a little bit of everything suggested and i'm thankful for them. thanks all. couldn't resist anything named "red hot skillet lickers" ...great call dean!
  21. billie's "love for sale" is one of my favorites.
