  1. wasn't that the reason goodell gave for steering michael vick away from buffalo? in retrospect it was probably good thing but it seems the nfl is aware that the bills are not a nurturing, supportive organization for players.
  2. how does a lease signing compare to mario wiliam's contract obligations in financial terms? i don't think there's precedent for a 15 year nfl stadium lease deal, so i think you can stop holding your breath on that one.
  3. wilson is already the poster child for lame duck owner. he's 94 y.o and a career loser by football metrics. a great many already clamor for a new owner including, i suspect, his fellow owners who clamor for parity and quality product throughout their brand. enough said. stating his intent to sell to an owner committed to staying in buffalo does nothing but improve his ability to immediately negotiate with those who would decide on funding a new or improved stadium. this statement would do nothing to limit further negotiations between potential buyers with the same intent to negotiate future stadium deals. they're free to hold the region hostage in the future, just like wilson has and currently is doing.
  4. the only explanation i can imagine is that he'd lose what little support and, surprisingly, the significant amount of respect he has in wny if he announced he had no special arrangements to keep the bills in buffalo. i can fathom no such explanation if in fact he has made those arrangements.
  5. why all the cloak and dagger stuff? that's what i want to know. is wilson concerned he'll lose out somehow if he reveals his plans? or is it really that he has no plans, as i suspect?
  6. ohio = 50.7 romney. 18 electoral votes. i'll grant that obama lost much of his lead in the debates but ohio is looking like THE battleground state. 18 electoral votes the other way gives o the next 4 years again. maybe you should place a bet?
  7. http://www.nytimes.c...trade.html?_r=0 does perception really equal reality or do romney operatives only perceive it that way?
  8. the big question in my mind is how much input wilson has in team decisions. if he has more than a little, that explains more than a lot. one poster here who claims to have inside knowledge, claims wilson's mind is all there. if that's true, i'd give good odds he's still meddling. if he's wrong, then the other bean counters are likely meddling. either way it's not good. really, what are the odds of a truly capable talent evaluater choosing this badly?
  9. have listened a bit to dr. jill stein on npr. i'd vote for her over obama if i thought she had any chance at all....so i'll be voting for obama.
  10. this is the bigger point. the days of anecdotes ("calling a 2 point conversion in the 3rd quarter didn't work last time i did it 3 years ago") doesn't cut it. i'm not sure chan understands fractions, much less statistics.
  11. what a motley crew. and he's the worst of the bunch.
  12. it reads like a gangster novel with armstrong as the godfather. it would be true justice if those same white shoe lawyers he used to intimidate his exfriends worked for them as plaintiffs attorneys in the sure to be upcoming lawsuits against armstrong.
  13. gailey plays hunches, not odds. if his hunches produced wins more often than losses, all would be forgiven. but they don't. heck, it rarely works in checkers and he's trying to play chess against folks like belichik. it's becoming more and more obvious (not that it wasn't in his first press conference as the bills coach), he's just not very bright.
  14. don't think the d is much worse that the titan's. maybe that's why fitz looked decent for 3 quarters.
  15. the notable difference being that the titan's would have gone for 2. tenn was carving up the d all day. the odds were better that they'd get a td than a fg on a scoring drive. with that awful d you go for 2. not that it matters, these crappy teams are the only ones we can come close to competing with. but with a decent organization, gailey would be long gone for his decisions the last 2 weeks and his overall failure to win at the helm. he sucks and everyone should know it by now including whoever is running the organization.
  16. no kidding. i still think a half stadium full of mr burns masks in place of paper bags on fans heads watching a home game would be a fitting tribute for all that he's done for us bills fans.
  17. because gailey is dumb. there are simple algorithms that can be printed on 3x5 cards to make this decision but gailey is arrogant and dumb. always a losing combination.
  18. many have proposed that his charity was an intentional inoculation from these ethics issues that just wouldn't go away because they couldn't go away. it's easy to be philanthropic when you're making $15 mil per year in endorsements and the continuation of that income requires perpetuating a lie.
  19. the evidence is overwhelming that armstrong is a world class cheater and liar. why he garners any sympathy or respect is beyond me. seems to me he's another example of american culture accepting such behavior so long as the cheater is good at it and gets away with it...and sometimes even after the cheater is caught. perhaps i'm the outlier but that seems pathologic to me.
  20. i got food advice from a guy working at a gas station across from the stadium when we were driving through this summer...and it was great advice! barbills in east aurora for beef on weck and wings. can't imagine what it's like after a game, though. it was jammed lunch time friday in august.
  21. not sure... it's true (for his grandfather, not his father). i think it's a winner at least from a pac sponsored ad. don't think it could hurt.
  22. i really think obama should bring up the fact that romneys grandfather moved to mexico TO PRACTICE POLYGAMY.
  23. and the specifics on romney's magical tax cut plan.....attack obama! even repubs can't be stupid enought to believe this bs. and COAL, did romney mention COAL? this whole thing is very sad if it decides a president.
  24. my 4 year old planet walker shoes are wearing out. got em at ross for $30 on closeout. not made anymore. they're clog style but with closed backs.. soft leather. cork soles covered with rubber. most comfortable i've ever had. so i'm searching for replacements. the ones that look the most alike are dansko professionals. many of the reviews are great from chefs and others who work on their feet all day. birkenstock makes a similar shoe . but i can't find either of these locally to try. have had many different clarks styles but none as comfortable. tried some keene's, propet and merrills recently and didn't find them as comfy as my old shoes but didn't have any on long and didn't try many styles.. really the next best shoe for comfort i've had were good quality sebego penny loafers. i'm not stuck on a certain style or even price and i don't have to worry about a dress code i'd even prefer it not be a clog if another type was as comfortable but looks are secondary. sure, i can buy some different types online and return if i don't like em and maybe even get my old ones fixed (doubtful).. but i'm interested in what people here think the most comfortable shoe they've owned is. wearing them a while sometimes changes opinions. and i know there are people here, like me, that are on their feet most of the day. sorry in advance, if you find this is a silly subject but i actually think good shoes are very important.
