  1. just scanned virginia counties. looks like most outstanding votes are in fairfax, than everywhere else combined, where obama leads 58-41.
  2. if romney had started moderate and remained moderate rather than starting far right and turning moderate the last 2 weeks he would have done better. still has a slim chance as it is.
  3. kaine within 20k with lots of fairfax votes to be counted. iffy but encouraging. where did you see this? has someone called the race?
  4. pbs toggling back and forth from chicago to mass hq's. big party versus quiet as an anglican church service. guess which is which. mercifully, mustang sally has stopped riding, baby, ride.
  5. dick morris predicted a romney landslide...yet, i'm sure he'll still be an analyst, holding his head high, tomorrow for fox.
  6. pbs reported earlier that obama wrote both a victory and defeat speech. romney only a victory speech. he might want to start scribbling something down now, just in case.
  7. intrade 94% o. any remaining r believers can get fantastic odds.
  8. omg...there playing "mustang sally" at romney hq in mass. that's just sad...but predictable. all the country clubbers are white man shuffling to it.
  9. loudon county, va just swung blue. way ahead in fairfax with only a small percent in. looks like all the wealthy virginia counties are going blue. might be enough.
  10. if it wasn't clear before wisconsin was called it is now. romney must have ohio. don't think he gets it.
  11. fla going back and forth...but majority of time obama ahead. i think virginia's gonna go red. areas around me are overwhelmingly red. don't think northern virginia can compensate this time but people are still voting. i got to my polling station at 6:30 and no waiting but it's rural.
  12. i did this yesterday. i agree, it focuses on the core issues all voters should be encouraged to use it. dr jill stein should get my vote per the survey but obama was a close second. not gonna waste my vote, so "4 more years".
  13. it's not unreasonable to hope the man obtained a conscience in his waning days or even to hope he'd want to go out a winner. hell, even scrooge did. but everything else you said about wilson is right on.
  14. mario was supposedly a known quantity..locked in for at least 5 years and was likely considered a good bet to sell tickets and improve the team right away. oops.. rookie qb's are a crap shoot and take time to develop and the rookie salary set up doesn't apply after the initial contract ends and the bidding wars start... what rookie qb stud with a decent agent is gonna sign a long term deal with wilson as owner?
  15. have you considered that the reason they haven't drafted a top qb prospect is the lkelihood of popping that bubble? if they draft one and he becomes a stud and thus becomes a bidding object at contract time, it will cost big. we've seen in the last decade how much the bills brass dislikes that scenario and how successful they've been in retaining the few marketable talents they've drafted. losing a top qb would show everyone the truth they don't want revealed: that winning is far down the priority list.
  16. dumb and dumber in real life. so what would any rational owner do?
  17. is this jeopardy? the answer is "what is too much, alex".
  18. i'd like to see a yards per attempt stat from the wildcat. it's got to be abysmal. yet he continues to run it at crucial times. he's really not smart enough to outsmart anyone.
  19. um, maybe because if he has no idea, then he has no business owning the team. at least, if he has any concern or respectfor the fans...which of course he doesn't. but re the original premise, chan is second rate but probably the best wilson could attract. so who's to blame?
  20. coach speak or not, it's nearly unintelligible. i mean, if you met this guy at a party and he said he was a stock broker you'd walk away laughing saying "what a moron". yet some find it reasonable to believe that he can match wits with some of the best football minds in the nfl. how wilson became impressed by this guy, i'll never know.
  21. well here's a silver lining.http://www.skisugar.com/. 7 inches with more to come. open tomorrow. i'm thinkling of taking tomorrow off to go.
  22. well yeah...i doubt we'd be discussing this here if the bills were 8-0. and i doubt many are overly concerned with how a coach motivates players and maximizes their potential. but historically, its not looking like gailey has been greatly successful at this, at least in terms of w/l.
  23. in many instances the players are immature and accustomed to being coddled going back to when they were stars in high school and college. i think psychology and mentoring is a major part of the job description of a coach. can you win without it? sure. i doubt belichick spends much time soothing bruised egos but many successful coaches have served as confidants, motivators and counselors for their star players. i agree that this probably isn't gailey's strong suit.
