  1. couple of comments: the 10/100000 drivetrain warranty IS standard. they offered me a bumper to bumper 10/100000 -not sure if this is available outside of genesis/equus. i got the sedan. in that car, i'm not at all sure the r-spec is worth the substantial extra cost. i actually got the "base" model which is loaded with just about everything. i don't think you can buy a "stripped" hyundai. hyundai has some work to do on their chassis. i guess koreans like the feeling of riding on a cloud cuz that's what you get. pretty damn nice for the highway. not so good on the mountain twisites. that said, the interior is cavernous rivaling a 60's era town car. i think repair costs will be low. the dealer no charged me for the 1st oil change. after that it's 20 bucks. try to get it for that at a german badged dealership after the free maintanence runs out. anyway, have fun. if it weren't a small town, i'd be out test driving that coupe too, but they know me now.
  2. well, there you have it. the best selling shotgun in the history of the world. used by law enforcement and sportsmen worldwide. but it's not enough...it's never enough....
  3. and that is exactly why we experience things like we did in connecticut.
  4. there's nothing like using your left foot while driving. just seems to impart control...don't know if it actually does. but then, i picked what my wife calls an old man's car, with an 8 speed auto. never know when it shifts.
  5. drove the tl awd (with the saleswomen in the car - i hate that). it's not "real" awd ala subaru. that and the price killed it for me. but, no doubt, a very nice car. feels big and heavy though.
  6. are you overstocked because you can't find an actual use for them? seriously, for what purpose did you buy these?
  7. hyundai santa fe. the gt elantra hatch is pretty cool too but probably underpowered to pull a snowmobile.
  8. if hyundai keeps doing what they're doing they are going to be the new benchmark, very soon. the sonata (did i mention i like turbos) is an a great car at a great price. i could have gotten my warranty extended to 10 years /100k miles for $3k through hyundai and i'm still kicking myself that i didn't. no other car company has the balls to do this. did you just get a letter saying there gonna send you a check every year that you own based on your mileage and local gas prices cuz they overestimated epa mileage figures? i was stunned. this is amazing customer service.
  9. theoretically. try finding one. they're on the websites but not the lots. found a vw gtrx that fit the bill, but $37k for a vw? not from me. still i'm sure it's a fine car. had a G35 6mt. didn't consider another.
  10. wouldn't doubt it. we wanted an wheel drive manual transmission leather interior car. next to impossible to find. wrx is one but try to find one and they're most suited for a 20 something. nobody had one car with those feature for a hundred miles that i could find and the dealers i asked said they couldn't get one. manuals are dying. i think motor trend has a "save the manuals" campaign going. i hope it helps but doubt it.
  11. manuals are had to find. we went looking to replace my wife's 5 speed subie as a daily driver and found very few cars available as standards. even subaru manuals are relatively rare especially with nice interiors. the bmw dealer literally laughed when we asked to drive a std. said there probably wasn't one in a 300 mile radius. she ended up with a buick regal gs 6 speed turbo. we'll see about reliabilty but performance, especially braking and handling is really good. wanted her to look at the new acura ilx 6 speed but , believe it or not, she fell for the buick and the deal (it sat on the dealers lot for almost a year). dealer said he couldn't sell it cuz it was a std tranny.
  12. diane feinstein on pbs....she's confident it's happening: outlaw of numerous semi automatic weapons, trigger locks on existing military style weapons, abolition o production and importation of clips, drums etc that work in automatics and semi automatics. we'll see.
  13. 2012 hyundai genesis...so far i love it. a bit worried about driving it in the snow. 2005 legacy gt turbo wagon we kept for that which is a damn good car even at 160k miles.
  14. why should we fans care what kind of businessman he is? are we supposed to cheer the fact that he may well die a billionaire. geez, if i was cheering businessmen, warren buffet would be a better guy to cheer for. and you can't have it both ways. he's lauded for throwing caution (profits) to the wind when he could have done so much better elsewhere. i don't buy this one either. at any rate, the 2 arguments are mutually exclusive. if i'm following you, we really should judge the best owners as those who won and made money. wilson ain't one of em.
  15. no, you can't mandate anything fully. even in prison, people break the law. so, to take my autobahn analogy a step further, should we do away with prisons? no, we should try to make them better. unfortunately, on the issue of guns, there are many people who will fight to their last breaths for assault weapons and such. i dare say there are posters here who are staunch supporters. and they need to be either ignored or convinced. i'd bet on ignoring being the only good option. bloomberg talked about restrictions on clip size...makes perfect sense. this isn't rocket science. will there be ways to circumvent? sure, but it can be made quite difficult. right now, we aren't even doing the obvious stuff. there's plenty of room for improvement.
  16. i have a gun. a pump shotgun that i feel is the best all around firearm you can own. it serves for protection, hunting, killing varmints and even target shooting (skeet and trap can be quite challenging). it would be damn near impossible however to do the damage done in connecticut with a pump shotgun. so why the bitter fight over semi automatic weapons? why do ordinary people need them if not for their belief that someday they might have to fight against the gov't? we shouldn't allow legislation based on that fear.and i think bloomberg is correct that the nra has no where near the power they appear to. the candidates they backed in the most recent elections didn't fare so well.
  17. we can better control ammo. you can legislate that. can we stop everyone from ever doing 150mph in their vette on the thruway? no...but does that mean we should make it into the nys autobahn?
  18. isn't "among the worst" bad enough? and i still think a good argument can be made for the worst. but re bud adams, isn't it amazing how much better a coach jeff fisher became after changing teams. i wonder about some of our "bad" coaches too (gailey excluded of course, he's a retard).
  19. i agree completely. iu think there can be a happy medium and we aren't at it.
  20. his speech therapist...hopefully he knows how to spell his 1st name.
  21. "yup pete, after this season i'm gone. have you seen how ugly the hookers are round here?"
  22. drafting 3rd possibly and people are asking if we are better than 3 years ago? anybody good that comes to the bills under the current front office will have their talent wasted and spirit broken.
  23. you used coriander? i woulda used nutmeg there
