Cuts to add an additional 6 Million
brianthomas replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all in on everything you said. If they can get back some money by cutting Murphy I'd be all about that too. I get why they signed him because we needed help rushing the passer but you're just never gonna get a great return on your investment with him. Dudes only really had 1 good season & he's always injured & even when he does play, he's only in there for 40% of the plays. Maybe I'm old fashioned but 8.5 mil is a helluva lotta money for a guy like that. If ur cool with paying 9 mil per year, pay Clowney, pay Demarcus Lawrence. Players who have shown in the past they can consistently make plays. Theyre not perfect but have more upside than Murphy -
Cuts to add an additional 6 Million
brianthomas replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've bit my tongue thru all this thread but saying we should keep Clay is just ridiculous. Clay is better than anyone in FA? Dude Jason Croom is better & he's already on our roster. Jared Cooks is out there too. At this point anybody would be an improvement, especially if you value saving cap space -
Which non-Bills draft pick stung the most?
brianthomas replied to Buffalo86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gronk for sure. Watching him tear us up every Sunday for a decade has sucked. If we had drafted him at the very least he wouldnt have been so dominant versus us. Moving up for Watkins & passing up ODB or lets face it, Khalil Mack or anyone else. I wanted us to get Roethlisberger back in the day after seeing how he dominated at Miami OH. But the past couple years its been Mahomes. I know its become a meme of sorts around here, but needing a QB badly & passing up on one with the talent of this kid, just to watch him light it up for Andy too many cheesesteaks Reid's Chiefs will forever burn a hole in my heart. The only cure for which will be some Pepto Allen. I don't need Allen to be the leagues MVP but just don't suck it up out there & put up some wins & most of all, make me Billieve. If Allen works out all is forgiven -
An entertaining video. But posting a video of Brady on a Buffalo Bills message board? Not cool man, not cool.... unless your from Baaaahston

Tyrod might get too much crap here idk. Or perhaps his play dictated that. If you take away the extremes on both sides, his best games, his worst, what you get is still pretty lousy as a whole. Tyrod had as it turns out, pretty decent WR's here at times. You mean receivers like Robert Woods & Sammy Watkins or Marquise Goodwin? When they had a different QB throwing to them they began putting up better numbers. Something akin to if Clay went to NE, of course his knee would have to hold up & he'd have to catch the ball. But perhaps it was something else holding Tyrod back here, so how did he do in Cleveland with all that talent on their offense? He played 3 games, completed 41 of his 84 attempts (48.8 percent) for 462 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions & was sacked 13 times for 81 lost yards in the first three games. Averaging that out, 462/3, he threw for 154 yards a game, with .7 td's. Numbers all of us here can relate to since that pretty much sums up what we remember. Case in point look at what happened when Baker Mayfield took over the team, it was like night & day. So maybe, just maybe Tyrod gets too much crap, or maybe he is just what he is. A below average passer with above average running ability. Tyrod's a great guy from all accounts & he's a guy you'd like to see succeed. But all one can go by is what a player makes of his opportunities. Who knows if he'll ever get another one again. But like Taylor its past the time for Clay to go. Sorry for the long post, i just didnt expect to see a Tyrod post today haha. I had hoped we moved on from him because its a torturous subject, speaking of it is like self mutilation, it hurts

My Hypothetical Julio Jones Trade....Yes or No?
brianthomas replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane says we're gonna be calculated with our free agency moves. This calculation has too high a cost. I don't see Beane making this move. I don't see him being willing to give up significant draft capital to bring Jones here & frankly I wouldn't do it either. Julio might be the big flashy signing some would like to have but I don't think its the best thing to do. Not at his age & term, nor his cost, both salary wise & what we'd have to give up to get him. I love me some Special K, but on this trade i gotta say no -
I'd be down to make a move like this had it not been for our signing of Trent Murphy. We already have an underperforming high priced DE on our team. I didnt like that pick up when we made it & today I hate it even more. But because of that move it pretty much makes potential signings of Clowney or Lawrence impossible from a salary cap standpoint. Sure technically you may be able to do it, but investing that much more money into that one area isn't necessarily wise imo. If only we could go back & stop that from happening haha. Close to $9 million for a guy who plays 40% of the snaps, and thats when he's healthy enuff to be on the field. The way i see it, the only thing we can do is hope this year he turns it around & we draft another edge rusher who can compete for starting time this year

Most Realistic 3 Round Mock from Draft Wire
brianthomas replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lol that mock draft has New England picking Tyree Jackson in the 2nd round? While i'd be happy with the picks the BIlls made in this hypothetical list, having the Pats drafting Tyree in the 2nd doesnt give me much faith into whoever made this list. Do people really expect him to get drafted so high? From what I've seen he'd be lucky to get drafted in the 4th round. Or could this be Gronk 2.0 where he goes on to have a HOF career & punishes the Bills every Sunday as revenge for us not drafting him? I think its a safer bet to say u cant put much stock in mock drafts haha, but they are fun to read since its all we have for a few months -
Gerald McCoy: Cap casualty
brianthomas replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say yes if we weren't already on the hooks with Star Lotulelei & Trent Murphy. Those are 2 examples of pricing yourself out of an impact player by overpaying under achievers. And yes I get the whole argument of Star occupies 2 blockers & yadayadayada. But how can you have a dline where it eats up 17% of your cap & where 1 of those guys will hardly be on the field due to historically being injured? I'd love to have him here & would instantly replace Star with McCoy, but with the total cost & with all the other areas we need to improve, I think we simply need to build thru the draft in this case. -
he doesnt hate Buffalo, he hates the Bills for not drafting him. And he uses that hate against the Bills as motivation to make them pay for not drafting him. I'm paraphrasing of course, but those are his words. I suppose if I were in the same situation, as a pro athlete I would feel the same. What else is he supposed to feel? Secretly aim to sabotage the team that drafted you in order to help ur home city win?

Can't wait to check out tomorrows version of this thread. And then the next one a day or so later. And then again & again & again lol I bet by draft time we'll have perhaps 100 of these threads... which is what u would expect & would want. I just think its funny how theres a new one every couple days asking the same question. "Do you think we'll be active in Free Agency?" Yes of course, we have 90 Million in cap space after purging our roster of dead cap this past season... Not only was that The Plan but we said so yesterday haha Gonna be a long offseason Draft day can't get here soon enough because its gonna be exciting. For me the Draft is one of the greatest days in sports.

Should Bills go after FA TE Demetrius Harris
brianthomas replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep for sure. While our coaches are at it, they can instruct our offensive line on how to block too I'm curious to see what assistant coaches we bring in. This offseason is going to be one of the most exciting ones i've seen in recent memory, besides from last year & getting our franchise QB. But i'm all in on getting rid of Clay & Thomas. We've spent too much time trying to develop Thomas. The time to move on from him was last year imo. Better late than never! -
Should Bills go after FA TE Demetrius Harris
brianthomas replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I'd have to say no to him as well. Hardly any production thru out his career & surprisingly this season too with how well that offense has been rolling. If we did what you suggested I'd be thrilled -
for the sake of the NFL & teams & players & fans everywhere... we can only hope he's done. it disgusts me that we're still paying this dude but the Pegulas should pay for it, given it was their mistake in bringing him here in the 1st place. We can only hope they've learned their collective lessons.

Tre White has launched his own online store
brianthomas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This whole Tre White Bills Instagram story is a joke. If I were a psychiatrist perhaps I'd spend some time exploring the reasons why people freak out about this stuff. But besides that, Tre has 1 pic where he's wearing a Bills shirt of himself & another that is a fan type video for him & our team. That I suppose people wouldve seen had they cared enough to click on the video. But who's got time for that? Much easier to get the pitchforks out & start a useless thread alleging some slight or narrative that he's washing his hands of us. Relax everyone, dude doesnt have many IG photos as it is & dude can do whatever he wants imo. Don't be creepy BillsMafia Tre White isn't going anywhere. -
Shady throwing shade at Bills O lineman
brianthomas replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shady throwing shade, u don't say? But really how is that throwing shade? Its not like he said our linemen suck or that the Bama guys are better. He simply said he'd love to have one of their linemen. The problem with words is that you don't get any of the context. With that in mind, perhaps the OP is throwing shade at our linemen for interpreting Shady's comments to be negative towards our guys? Seems a bit of a stretch imo, but good clickbait nonetheless -
Josh Allen advanced metrics darling?

Better to have a thing for young cute NFL QB's than old Tight Ends -
Josh Allen advanced metrics darling?
brianthomas replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I imagine its because it would take longer during the process to inspect each players protective equipment to make sure it was standard & nobody was trying to cheat with less for an advantage. Having them run in just shorts not only saves time & energy but ensures every participant can be compared from the same baseline. That's my thinking on it, just a theory, could be totally wrong. I'm sure theres something out there to be found off google, but that'd take time searching for it & what not -
WR Duke Williams of CFL’s Eskimos Signs with Bills
brianthomas replied to LEBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
low risk signing at a position of need. Dudes gonna be hungry & motivated to succeed. Hoping he does -
I think everyone here agrees we need a dominant O-line or would like one. However the Colts drafted Quentin Nelson who has shined. We'd love to find a player like him in this draft but from what I've read/heard/seen, there isnt a player like him available in this draft. Not one who is looked upon as a sure fire dominant all pro type. Jonah Williams has been talked about. Dude is tall but lacks weight. Greg Little or Jawaan Taylor are the only others. One of them at least will surely be gone by the time the Bills select & both have concerns regarding them playing too high & getting pushed around too much. Point is is that its not easy but yeah it'd be nice

Should the Train Horn Stay? Or Go?
brianthomas replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm the same tbh. Once you reach a certain age it takes a bit more effort to get you in the dancing mood & even then it can be a workout, so theres a time & place for it for sure. But I've been an electronic music dj since I was shoot 20, so I have friends who are promoters & run nights at various spots around town where I'll get an occasional gig or make an appearance. I produce my own music these days because I've moved beyond that younger lifestyle, but still know enough that you can do better than blast some ghastly train whistle every other minute -
Should the Train Horn Stay? Or Go?
brianthomas replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That whistle really is in Madden? I havent played a Madden game in years but if its the same exact whistle I'd probably demolish the stadium & move the franchise elsewhere. Anything other than having to hear it while playing a game... it'd drive me mad lol -
Should the Train Horn Stay? Or Go?
brianthomas replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Literally EVERYONE i've talked to about this agrees that the train whistle is not only annoying, but its downright embarrassing. As far as the lore goes of the team, it doesn't even make sense or fit in with our team. The sound of a Buffalo stampede makes the most sense, stampeding Bison would work. Perhaps even just having Native American drumming. ANYTHING BUT THE DAMN WHISTLE! The whistle is the equivalent of a siren playing at a dance music club. It was cool the 1st time u heard it 20 years ago, but now when it plays it makes you cringe. Please, just make it stop -
Final Tremaine Edmunds numbers, shoutout from Bills PR
brianthomas replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its pretty much common knowledge that the NFL has become a passing league. And prior to Milano & Edmunds, the big knock on our linebacking corps was that they lacked the speed required in todays game. Deficiencies we've seen for years trying to cover Gronk for instance. There may be quotes in comments prior to his selection that state this, but it should just be a given that we needed to get faster at the LB position for the purpose of being better in pass coverage.
