From his bio it states he gets overpowered a lot on the line & isn't really the type to adjust to a poorly thrown ball. I just wonder how that factors into our team & with Allen, given how his accuracy isnt currently the best & needs better pass protection. Doesn't seem like a great fit if thats true imo. But suppose time will tell

I'm not a big fan of paying considerable money to a player who has only had 1 decent year. A year followed by a bad year at that. I mean we can all say "hey, at least we did something", but like other moves we've made in the past, we're paying good money for players who havent necessarily 'proved it' in the NFL. Hopefully we're still looking to improve the TE position because even with this signing, we're still in the same spot as we were before imo. Yeah we have another body but cmon, can't we do better?

If we were giving Gore an Ivory sized contract i'd be pissed, but 1 year at $2 million is great. Although I understand everyones consternation regarding the move, given how we're all waiting for some more impactful signings

I know the Bills are supposedly interested in Saffold & Williams among others. So if that's the case & Beane is very interested in bringing those guys in, wouldn't it make sense that we take a pass on Osemele, given his $10 mil per year price tag? If we sign those 2 guys or perhaps Morse or Paradis, then not going after Osemele makes total sense imo. At the moment we're viewing this Jets signing in a vacuum of sorts. But if Beane makes those other pickups then the perspective on this totally changes. Here's to hoping he brings in a couple of those guys, otherwise our line this season, like a vacuum will suck

The only rule change that I can get behind that involves the 4th down scenario is one where you remove the onside kick & give the team an opportunity to retain possession with a 4th & 15 from their own 35. That rule change makes sense imo. This change posited here not so much, but I appreciate the intent. And I for one don't mind the punt / punt return part of the game. For me the bigger problems are Onside Kicks & Kickoffs in general. The league has neutered both with the intent to protect the players where now both just aren't an interesting part of the game anymore. With onside kicks there's practically no chance of recovering the ball & with kickoffs all you really get are extra TV commercials out of it, as the refs setup the ball before the kick & after. Those 2 areas alone all chip away at what made the NFL exciting to watch imo. But I don't want to steer this thread away from the OP so I'll digress & apologize if I have

Raiders were the one team that made the most sense. Idk how the rest of the locker room there will feel about it though. Ownership willing to pay all this money to AB but werent willing to pay for players who were part of the team for years, with Mack & Cooper? I'll admit that when i heard AB was coming here i got all excited, but now that it didnt happen I think it's for the best. He'll probably have a good season this year but he could easily check out on the team as well.

And an after thought: I suppose Josh Allen getting ran over by Ryan O'Reilly at a local Tim Hortons on the 17th when the Blues play the Sabres & the subsequent injuries to his legs would qualify as a worst case scenario as well. Crossing my fingers that one doesnt happen

For me, the worst case scenario would be doing nothing in free agency & having a poor draft. But definitely not signing anyone in free agency would make me scratch my head in confusion & deflate any hopes I still cling to that we'll eventually be a playoff caliber team

People need to relax with this 9th pick stuff. No way in hell did we trade our 9th pick for Brown. And whoever shared that fake AB twitter account link should be banned imo... Yep i pretty much agree with all you said too. OL in FA should be a priority & like everyone else i'd like to bring in 1 or 2 more wr's & if they can stretch the field with Foster I'd be all for it, but i think we can get help in FA & later in the draft with that. But specifically with DK I just don't want to take a chance with him at #9 for everything everyones already stated. Lets wait for him to become a Bill before we start making excuses for why he hasnt performed up to his potential you know? He's not even drafted yet & we're already doing it lol. I'd be excited to see TJ Hockenson here at #9 as I think he'd be more valuable to the offense as a whole than a speedy guy who can stretch the field who has had injury issues & questionable productivity. We cant miss on this pick because we have so many holes to fill. Drafting is always a crap shoot no doubt but I'd prefer we take our chances at 9 on someone with less questions.

Yep for sure. Foster has been a Godsend just when we needed him the most. Imagine what our offense wouldve looked like last year without him. He's an easy player to root for too, given his path to get here. Hoping year 2 is even better for him, we surely need it to

Wouldn't deep threat guys be easier to find than say a more complete WR who can run all the routes? We found Foster & he looked pretty good as our deep threat guy last year. For slot receiver I think we're fine as it is now or there are other guys out there in free agency we can pick up. I think we could use a WR who can run all the routes & perhaps be our #1 guy, than just another slot receiver who can run fast up the field. Especially given its the 9th overall pick. I just think we need more value out of that pick than just that. DK is a pick the Raiders would make, falling in love with his speed & physical traits over his game film & over everything else. I don't think Allen needs another deep threat, he needs someone that can run all the routes & catch the ball & get 1st downs & bail him out on plays & keep the offense moving. Just my opinion of course

Combine tests aside, what scares me about DK is his lack of production at Ole Miss. Looking at his stats, you'd think theres no way in hell a player with those numbers would ever be considered a top 10 pick. And then you factor in his commitment to pro football versus becoming a doctor, along with his agility & route running questions & for the #9 pick I think you just have to say no. We need to absolutely hit on that pick. We can't afford to take a chance with anybody imo. For me DK is a solid no at this point.

He's a mole for feeding inside info about the Bills to the Pats or the other way around? Because given how much we've been dominated by the Pats, I can't see why the Pats would need a mole here. Idk much about him as he's new to coaching, but at this point I say bring in anyone & everyone to help out our line. We're so bad, only way is up from here.

Man u have a tendency to read too much into what people say. I never said Beane wouldve drafted him or missed out on drafting him, obviously he wasnt around then. I simply said OBJ doesnt fit the kind of guys we go after & if he was ever gonna be a Bill, it wouldve happened by drafting him & not this. Maybe you need to take a break from message boards so you dont feel the need to jump over everyone elses posts all the time. You'll probably feel less stressed out lol

Idk, given all that Kap has gone thru & the sideshow that would come from him playing in the AAF, asking for 20 million kinda makes sense from the standpoint it'd have to be worth it.

OBJ doesnt come across as a McBeane process guy. If we wanted OBJ here we shouldve drafted him instead of Watkins. Now his head is so big I cant see him wanting to play for our Bills. Patriots or any big market team is where he'll go if anywhere i'm guessing

if youre gonna pick from one of those chinese sites, like DHgate, just pick a seller with a real high rating. Also paying from a gift card or paypal would be optimal, so you don't have to worry about any credit card fraud. I don't say that to scare you away as i myself have bought a couple jerseys from them, but never hurts to be careful, just food for thought

Not everyone, I never liked it. I didnt like the Ivory signing or Star signing either. All these bloated contracts for what amount to average players boggles the mind while you simultaneously try to undo those same types of contracts. Although Ivory's isn't that bloated, but you can definitely get what he brings for much cheaper. Perhaps some people were just hopeful given what Murphy did the year before in Washington & how he'd be lined up opposite Hughes. Perhaps others were just happy we signed someone. Gotta also remember that just about everyone before the season here was thinking playoffs last year as well. While not considering all the dead cap we ate & how unrealistic doing both would be. Such is the life of a Bills fan, glass is always half full when you Billieve until you smash it at the wall later. However I will trust the process thru this next season. I still think we're in a better position now than we have been in a long time. And i hope Trent has a great season for sure

I expect him to play 40% of the defensive snaps when he's healthy enough to do so. I'd say the over under on games missed this year due to injury is 5. Other than that I dont expect much. He's had 4 seasons in the league, with his high point being 9 sacks with Washington, other than that he's had 2.5, 3.5 & 4 with the Bills last season. So like i said, i don't expect much outta him for the Bills. For Trent i expect he'll cash in another 8.5 mil & live a pretty comfortable life that the most of us can only dream about haha.

In past threads i've seen some suggest that we sign Kareem Hunt on a one year prove it deal. Well you can scratch that off your list. Cleveland just signed him today. I see all these other teams making moves, while our Bills & Sabres do nothing. Patience is a virtue they say, well then nobody is as virtuous as us Bills fans
