Khalil Mack back with the Chargers
brianthomas replied to BuffaloBillsGospel2014's topic in The Stadium Wall
everyone saying how this is an overpay, it is a bit of one since its a 1 year deal. But we'll be paying Rousseau more down the road. Who would you rather have, Mack or Rousseau? Mack is 1 year removed from his 17 sack season. Chargers obviously are hoping Mack returns to more of that player than last years, where he was plagued with a groin injury the middle of the season. Idk what Mack has left in the tank at this stage of his career. But he's at least been an impact player thruout his career. Rousseau seems more of the middling type that are more common. That might be too harsh, we'll all say how Greg helps set the edge, but on a team that cant stop the run no less. I guess i fall into the camp of being less than enthused about running it back with these guys. Sure Beane can still do something, but i can only believe that when i see it. -
Bills look for debt waiver as stadium costs rise
brianthomas replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
i wonder how much the factor of tariffs is playing into cost overruns. But by the time this stadium is completed, it may be twice as expensive as what was 1st estimated. I understand there will always be factors that add on cost, but that seems pretty excessive a difference. -
Lockett is a definite no. His production has fallen off a cliff. He's lost a step or 3. I dont see how he helps this team. When we need guys with some speed & separation out there. DK Metcalf requested a trade. He'd be more of what we need than Lockett imho.

This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.
brianthomas replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the few changes to our coaching staff, I'm actually hopeful that we've correctly identified what needs to change on Defense. Now our focus should be on executing those changes & we'll begin to see what those are soon, which is exciting. But while it is on Beane to bring in the right players, its on everyone to get it right. We need more pressure up front & more man to man from our dbs.. at a minimum. Bring on the draft & Myles Garrett! -
Did y'all catch Josh's fiance in the boob commercial yesterday?
brianthomas replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
and at the same time, it got you posting about it on a separate forum & brought all sorts of awareness to the issue, which obviously was the goal. And since we're talking about it, where we otherwise wouldn't, I'd say is evidence it was successful. Perhaps even 1 of the people in this thread will bring up the subject with their spouse as a result? We're all aware of breast cancer, we know its a thing, but how often do we talk about it? To me its more of an indictment on us as a people where it takes an ad such as this to grab our attention & for people to take notice. Women are objectified constantly, this is nothing new. But the ad itself wasn't anything more than what you'd see from a TV camera zooming in on the cheerleaders on the sideline. Except in this case, it just wasn't for googling eyes or entertainment, but to spread awareness to cancer. I myself didn't struggle with the ad at all, as my approval for what i deem to be appropriate is far less important than the message of saving lives. But thats just me. -
Anyone else for using our draft capital for trades?
brianthomas replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was it though? Everyone & their mother had the BILLS being mocked to Justin Jefferson that year. I too thought it was a no-brainer. Yes Diggs provided some great seasons for us. But had we just kept the pick & drafted JJ, this whole conversation about needing a #1 wr wouldn't be happening in the 1st place. Sure hindsight is 20-20 & thats all we're doing here, looking back & evaluating. But it doesnt seem like that much of a stretch to think of the what-ifs, when so many had him mocked to us & we were in the position to draft him. I get why we didnt & made the move, dont care to rehash known details, but with hindsight, i cant agree it was the right move, given where we might be today had we not done the trade & simply had taken JJ where everyone thought we would going into that Draft. Both teams could say they 'won' on that trade, but it sure looks like Minnesota won more & knew something we didnt, but that we eventually found out, prior to trading him & eating a $31 million dead cap hit. A cap number we could've used on real assets to help this team, instead of just eating it for him not to play here anymore. So i agree with your general sentiment, just not the specifics i guess. Not when the outcome would've been better had he not made that trade & just picked JJ. -
as for the coaching, yeah McDermott isn't as good as Reid, but look at the Buffalo Sabres & be thankful for what you got with the Bills, because it could be worse. We just have to hope that Sean continues to work on himself & improve, just as we do for the rest of the roster. Given what most of us forecasted this season to be, i'd say they overachieved this year, given their deficiencies coming into the year. I know we all hate to hear it but: NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR! 🤣

Diontae Johnson to the Ravens (now claimed by Houston)
brianthomas replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
after Miami waived OBJ & now the Ravens released Diontae, its definitely possible OBJ goes back to Baltimore, since he's already familiar with their offense. Last year he caught 35 passes for 565 yards & 3 tds for them. With Bateman getting dinged up, I could see him going back there for sure. But I know the fans in Pittsburgh are calling for him to come back, as they have a need at wideout as well. Sean McVay of the Rams already said OBJ's not an option, so that would leave KC as another possible destination. I'd expect some playoff caliber team to kick the tires on him. Especially since Miami released him exactly so he can join someone else... Not many players of his caliber are available this time of year. I doubt he'd want to come here, but I personally wouldn't be against it. He could make just 1 catch as a BILL, but it could be exactly what we need at that time, who knows? He wont make or break a squad at this point. But he still can be a serviceable depth wr in the playoffs for someone. -
Should Bills Draft a Back-up QB? Who?
brianthomas replied to NORWOODS FOOT's topic in The Stadium Wall
this topic keeps coming up because of a couple things. 1st, people have seen Trubisky play & have little faith that he'd be able to win us 1-3 games if it were ever needed. Perhaps thats up for debate, but i wouldn't bet my season on it. 2nd is that we have a mobile QB who while he does protect himself better, still takes a lot of shots & has played through injuries the past couple seasons. And our entire offense runs because of Josh & through Josh. If Josh were to miss significant time, our offensive philosophy would have to change, as Mitch can't run the same offense Josh does. I think many fans would think differently on the situation if God forbid Mitch was needed to be QB1 right now. There'd be panic. Some solid insurance sure would be nice, thats all i think many fans would like. Now I dont think you'd want to spend a valuable draft pick on a backup qb, as many others stated, at least not yet. I'd prefer & always have preferred, we just get a competent backup vet. Ideally one in which our QB's are interchangeable on the field & can both run the same system & offense, or close to it. And i do think Beane has this in the back of his mind as well. Trubisky just became available once again after his failed stint quarterbacking the Steelers. Mitch was given a 2 year contract back in March, but its nothing we can't walk away from. I'll be curious to see if Beane does anything to upgrade from Mitch in the offseason. I hope a backup QB is never needed, but when accidents happen, you want All State, you dont want a Trubisky imho -
12/1/2024 Bills vs. 49’ers 2’nd half game thread
brianthomas replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
if i didnt know any better, i'd think we were playing the JETS. BILLS really running away with this one now... awesome to see! -
Giants are releasing QB Daniel Jones (future backup to Josh Allen)
brianthomas replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
he definitely doesnt like sitting on the bench. He's had to do it a lot, even when he was the starter. -
was hoping Carolina might actually knock off KC, but after Mahomes' last scramble, it doesnt look too likely
-
the name we've seen posted here every year for the past 10 years. I think I'd be good with Beane signing him if for only it would mean this topic of adding him would never come up again in the future get er dun but in all seriousness: na i dont want him.

So why was Amari Cooper traded twice in his prime?
brianthomas replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
you cant look at these transactions in a vacuum. Look at the situations he was in prior to him being traded. I think its less about Cooper & more about those team situations -

If Myles Garrett is available.. How much are you willing to offer?
brianthomas replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
There was a thread last week asking what is Greg Rousseau worth.... since decision time is coming for his extension. Many in the thread guessed it may cost $20m per for Greg going forward. Now i'd compare that to what it'd cost to bring Myles Garrett here & ask who do you think would be better value for the cost? If you're Beane do you want to pay a Rousseau $20m per or would you prefer paying a Myles Garrett? -
10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans 2nd half thread

In the 2020 Draft, all of us fans wanted to draft Justin Jefferson.. can you imagine what our offense would look like with him? In the 2024 Draft, all of us fans wanted to draft Brian Thomas Jr... can you imagine what our offense would look like with him? I hope Keon turns into something great & i loved his attitude when we got him. But i cant help but think these 2 decisions were difference makers
-
hell no, God no, please no, for effs sake no. He sucked years ago with the Jests. He sucked with Seattle. He sucks now. No thanks

Reading that article i see this: Mevis was signed by the Panthers after the draft and was let go. There we go, former Panther? Meet our new kicker! 🤣

Bills posting "insane" offensive efficiency metrics thru 2 weeks
brianthomas replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Saints stats seem more insane, but given its only a couple weeks into the season, i'd expect them to course correct over time. Time will tell how well we perform, but i definitely think we can & will improve upon these, because we havent seen our full offense play. Curtis Samuel has been hurt, Keon is just getting his feet wet. I'd like to see these stats when our offense is running full throttle. Because i think we can all agree that they havent peaked yet by any means, theyre just getting started & thats the exciting bit for me. Just gotta stay healthy -
Josh Allen just stole that fan's puppy & the whole thing was caught on video? This isn't a good look

The Athletic Survey: Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson?
brianthomas replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
1st bit of truth ive heard today. Josh Allen clearly has a more well rounded game than Lamar. Has been more durable & displays that will to win. Case in point: Josh Allen wouldn't ever run off the field during a playoff game to go to the bathroom, while his team was about to score vs the Bengals at the 1 yard line. Josh would handle his business on the field #1 & then #2, not the other way around lol -
we all should be concerned about Milano's health. Not necessarily because of these reports from training camp though, but for simply Matt's injury history. Anything that affects Matt's mobility is an issue, as that is what makes him the player he is. The coaches are keeping a close eye on him I'd imagine. The team's doctors & specialists in consultation as well. What's the better alternative to what we're doing now? None, okay then.
