Unless they feel they can 100% nail that franchise QB, trading up seems foolish, especially with so many teams attempting to get one this year. Chances are 2 of the top 10 work out in 1-2 years and another 1-2 become solid in 3-5 years. That's a 30% hit rate. With all the picks we end up losing, I'd rather sign Bradford, Keenum or trade for Foles. Even take a shot at Teddy B. They are all a step up from Tyrod, have proven they can play in the NFL and won't cost us so much in the short term. Then I'd take a flyer on White, Lauletta or Faulk in that order. If Rudolph falls, maybe take him at 21 and trade 22 to pick up a first next year and an extra 3rd or 4th this year. I'd love to see us fix the D-Line in FA and draft a stud MLB who can run sideline to sideline. Then it's O-line. Grab a C, RG and move Glenn to RT. Pick up RB2, WR2 in FA and we are back in the playoffs. Take a big shot at "the franchise" and fail and it's 4-6 wins for a few years hoping he becomes the guy.

Poor officiating and the catch rule are the big red flags for me too. When I played, there was nothing more satisfying than laying the wood to a WR as he crossed the field. I get that players are bigger, stronger, faster, but damn, let them play the game. The early 90's was still the best time ever for a Bills fan. Maybe if we rekindle that old fire, the rest of the stuff won't matter.

Buffalo Bills a Prime FA destination?

just the thought of Rex makes me puke in my mouth a little. So glad that stench was cleaned out of Buffalo -
I think Joey Fatone would look great behind center.

This should be the Bills plan at Qb
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to billspro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
wow. that is improbable, unlikely and won't happen. it will cause too much collateral damage to the rest of the cap and team. -
I can't agree. If any of these three are identified as a potential franchise QB, you take them in the 3rd. We blew it 2x waiting until the 4th. When Russel Wilson was available in the 3rd, I swore we were trading up to get him. BUT NO!! T.J F'king Graham cracker. Then again, Prescott was sitting there and we missed. If the Bills really like one of these guys, then make it happen and don't lose out.

NFL Draft QBs Stats based on Defensive Rank
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
great chart. thanks for posting. Mayfield was always the one I wanted to see in a Bills uniform. But he's on everyone's radar now. I'n not sure if Jackson and Rudolph fall to 21 either, since so many teams need a QB or are getting ready to groom their next one. This will get interesting over the next few months and for the first time in a long time, I trust the FO to make the right call. -
Yes or no to a stopgap QB?
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to Luxy312's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the braintrust is actively looking for the best QB possible while keeping the nucleus of the team intact and not destroying the cap. They will let the best man win and the draft will fall to them, and they will not lose assets to reach into the top 5. I can't see them drastically overpaying for Cousins. I really hope we can obtain McCarron or Foles. Both have enough experience and talent to elevate our offense without having to rely on a rookie or Peterman. I hope Cousins goes to the Jets and Denver signs a vet, which may put Mayfield in play for us. In this scenario, I could see the Bills trading up into the 10-14 range to take him, basically reversing the script from last year. We'd forever argue the Mayfield vs Mahomes, was it worth it. There are not a lot of scenarios where I see Tyrod here. The only way is if we don't trade before the March deadline, then it's pay the man and draft the future. I just find it hard to see how we can spin it where TT is the man and how does that affect the locker room. We'll find out soon enough. -
Hows my Bills buddies doing?
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I pretty. much felt the same. Hopefully Brady stays down and everyone pounds the Patriots back into the basement of the AFC East. Watching them lose is glorious, watching them not get every call is. justice. -
I didn't know if I could stomach it, but I never missed a Super Bowl so I started watching. As Philly went up, it was easy to watch and I kept waiting for the refs to f'k it up and hand the game to NE. Even after it ended I thought a flag would fly or something would happen to give NE the win, but it didn't and I enjoyed almost every minute of the game. I got nervous when NE went up by 1.

Whether you like it or not ... Nick Foles
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to BuffaloHogan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Foles goes anywhere unless the offer is outrageous and someone reconstructs his contact. That said, he is a QB who thrives in the right environment and I'm not sure Buffalo is the place. Unless Daboll can convince him that he will succeed in this offense, my bet is the only other place he'll land is Denver. Philly will want to keep him out of the NFC and the Jets and Browns are not a fit as they are in full rebuild mode. -
Brady's Legacy
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
as much as I hate to say it, and I throw up in my mouth a little just thinking about it, but Brady may be the GOAT because of his longevity. Over 500 yds passing. Can't put the loss on him. I just hope he declines rapidly and bows out soon. That said, we need to improve our front 7 and have to pressure and hit him a lot to take 2 next year. -
I usually like him, but his lips were so far up Patsie asses tonight, it was sickening.

Now That Deflated My Balls!

Nice mock, but 2 DT's seems a bit of a reach for me too. It's not the worst idea to solidify the middle and build out, but we have so many other needs that I don't see the Bills doing this.

Eric Wood's Cap Hit
1st Ammendment NoMas replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it is Jim's problem, he should be let go. The team should have known about this neck condition for awhile if it was degenerative. This kind of problem is like losing 2-3 starters. You lose your star player and any potential FA replacements. In Wood's case we could have signed 2 guys at 4m per and got some quality vets at need positions. Losing the cap hurts just as much, if not more than losing Wood. They have to make sure this NEVER happens again on a contract. Between Wood and Dareus, that's a lot of dead money.
