  1. I am so tired of that weak ass defense. Someone provided factual proof and a link to that proof that completey 100% invalidates my point so I will question the validity of the source of that factual proof. #1 offensive line as ranked by the league they play in, the NFL. Pro bowl means nothing it's a popularity contest with the fans. BS! BUDDY....your wrong whether you admit it or not. Intelligent people of character are able to admit things like this. Small petty people can not. Ok...one more attempt at education. Peyton Manning is potentially the best QB to have ever played the game. What is his completion rate while lying on his back? Peyton can't be as good as he is without the time and protection his line affords him. Same concept with WR. Even the best WR in the world can't throw the ball to himself. He needs the help of a competent if not great QB to get him the rock. Look at Steve Smith in Carolina. Jake Delhomme lost all his confidence and was terrible. He finally gets hurt and an unknown QB takes his place and suddenly Steve Smith has yards and a TD almost every week. I'll distill it down further for you. A great line allows a RB to be all he can be A great line allows a QB to be all he can be A great QB allows a WR to be all he can be What is the moral of the story?....It all starts up front. If you are weak or down right horrible up front everything else falls apart. I suppose now your comeback will be that Barry Sanders, perhaps the best RB ever, didn't need a line to be good. *sheesh* Again, the exception doesn't invalidate the rule.
  2. Well he's no Ozzy Osbourne shooting 17 cats and biting the heads off of live animals but he made some mistakes. I thought no one was beyond forgiveness.
  3. There is nothing to debate when you're 100% wrong. You don't debate 1+1=2 with someone. You are either right or wrong. Your are wrong. Just admit it.
  4. Ok. I'm going to be an !@#$. Your opinion is completely 100% useless. Actually it's worse than useless because some idiots might actually believe you. Do yourself a favor. 1) Go to www.nfl.com 2) Hover over stats 3) Click on Offensive line stats 4) Select regular season NOW! ....Take a look at the #1 ranked offensive line and then repeat after me....I am an idiot....I am an idiot. Not only is the Colts' line great, THEY ARE NUMBER FREAKIN #!.
  5. Or maybe it's the Ravens Offensive line beating the crap out of the opposing defense. McGahee's numbers improved and he's not even the best RB on the team. THESE are the real numbers that matter for McGahee in the 3 years with each team: With Bills 868 carries - 3.8 yd/carry - 1 td every 36.2 carries With Ravens 537 carries - 4.5 yd/carry - 1td every 20.7 carries Your stats leave out the all important number of touches per game. When you factor in how many touches he had in both places it is plain to see his game improved DRAMATICALLY. Same RB....different O-line. NOW!!!!! WHAT WILL REALLY DRIVE MY POINT HOME.....LOOK AT HIS NUMBERS FOR JUST HIS LAST 2 YEARS Ravens last 2 years 279 carries - 4.3 yd/carry - 1td every 14.7 carries He improved his yards per carry by over 1/2 yard and his TD production increased by a factor of 2.5x.
  6. WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A LATE ROUND PICK QB? I'm talking free agency. I guess we have radically different opinions of what a franchise QB is. I'm not talking the next Jim Kelly which Bradford isn't, I'm talking about a quality NFL starter. Travaris Jackson and Troy Smith were effectively starters before being displaced by Farve and Joe Flacco. Jason Campbel and Kyle Orton are currently starters. Any of these guys are already better than what we have and with the addition of a quality LT that can be good options for us for more than a year or 2. THAT BEING SAID If we are going to get a QB to put him on the bench for a year or 2 to learn while we put together our offensive line....get an actual project guy. Don't get a fragile mediocre armed high draft pick QB who loses strength with every shoulder injury he gets. Get a guy with a cannon arm and protypical size, over 197lbs, a good head on his shoulders and teach him the pro game.
  7. Both teams have great offensive lines. Neither team is in the AFC championship game without one! Only difference is Peyton Manning? Peyton Manning? The sure to be hall of fame, potentially best QB to have ever played the game, Peyton Manning? That's like saying the only difference between the New York Nicks and the Chicago Bulls was Micheal Jordan!!!! The Bulls won with Micheal Jordan so we should draft a shooting guard!!!! QB is VERY important but to use Peyton Manning as your example for why it is more important than offensive line is flawed logic. If we can draft Peyton Manning or a guy that is likely to be Peyton Manning in 3 years at #9 in the draft, I'm all for it. LOL
  8. Maybe our coordinator is coaching in the superbowl
  9. Sorry about that. Peyton, because he is perhaps the best QB to have ever played the game, would have a measure of success here. By success I mean 9 - 7 maybe 10 - 6 at best. Far from potentially going undefeated or a league record 12 or so wins a season for the last who knows how many.
  10. Stellar running game might have had just a tiny bit to do with it. But I see where you were trying NOT to go with that. O-line is extremely important. Diminishing that importance gets us into the situation we had this year. Who needs high paid fat bastards we have talent waiting in the wings to get on the field....How did that work out for us again?
  11. Ya...offensive line means nothing. Tell that the to the Ravens and the Jets. Get a clue buddy. Just because there are exceptions like Rothlesberger and Rogers it doesn't invalidate the rule!!!! For example with Rogers. See how much better they got as a team when the line started blocking? Big Ben is a freak of nature at QB and is just to big and tough to be taken down by CBs and small linebackers. Get us one of those VETERAN exceptions to QB our team and then I will relax a tad on the importance of the line. Tell the RBs how little importance the O-line is. Willis McGahee in Buffalo....ok average back....Willis McGahee in Baltimore with a good line...TD FREAKIN MACHINE!!! Go back to football 101.
  12. Seriously? Come on man. Are you actually trying to say that his line is above average if not WELL above average? I've heard of trying to prove a point but come on!
  13. Was fishing a little bit there. The probowl is not the fan attraction that it was but it is still an honor to be a first team nominee. Yes, injuries and the inexplicable decision to hold the pro bowl before the super bowl has created a lot of undeserving back up and reserve entries.
  14. Nor is the prospect of a top notch QB winning without an offensive line Imagine Peyton Manning behind our 2009 line = DEAD!
  15. LOL....Still can't get over Peter's making the probowl can you? The system must suck because Peters can't be good can he? lol
  16. And those are just the guys that made the probowl!!!!
  17. Uh?....very year for the last number of years pretty much.
  18. Why draft Bradford when we can pick up any one of a few free agent QBs? A free agent QB with the upside of being the franchise and a rookie LT can help us immediately. A free agent LT and a rookie QB with the upside of being the franchise get you nowhere. First round QBs like Bradford are a dime a dozen. If he falls to #9 in my mind that makes it much less likely that he is a franchise QB. Franchise first round QBs are usually taken in the top 5 picks IF NOT #1 over all. Bradford is a MUCH bigger gamble than a solid LT that will make the pass AND the run game better. Pre combine Bulaga from Iowa is my guy. He is supposedly in the Eric Wood, Andy Levitre vein of motivated nasty blockers with mean streaks. He has Buffalo written all over him.
  19. I hear Bradford is accurate but I have heard a big NO to the big arm. Hell, some people thought Trent had a big arm. *sheeesh*
  20. I started a free agent QB poll and currently Troy Smith is tied with Kyle Orton of all people. It is a gamble no doubt as all free agent picks up are but to me Troy Smith has by far the biggest potential upside of all of the free agents out there. He could be a stop gap measure with the possibility of turning into the QB of the future. If not for anything else Ozzy Newsome has a pretty good eye for talent. I would take their cast offs over any of our first choices the last few years.
  21. If we got McNabb we need a first round LT to keep the guy on his feet!!!! Why get a real QB if we don't give him time to throw the ball. Getting McNabb as a free agent would make getting a QB one of the biggest luxury picks ever.
  22. What seasoned veteran did Losman sit behind? Are we talking about his rookie year that he missed with a broken leg behind Bledsoe or his second year when he was the starter? Please put the crack down. Trent isn't going to "learn" how to grow balls or an above average NFL arm and in 3 years he hasn't "learned" how to read or beat a 3 - 4 defense.
  23. To me Kyle Orton has Kelly Holcomb written all over him. The guy is not bad but I don't think that he has any upside what so ever. Kyle flourished for a time in Denver this year but up to that point he was just a serviceable get you by don't lose the game for you QB. I would prefer Smith or Vick over him because those guys have more upside. Vick is not your traditional QB but he causes problems for the defense and he does have a cannon arm. Troy Smith now that he has had 4 years to learn the pro game could be ready for an Aaron Rogers like debut. NO, not exactly like Aaron Rogers, but a guy that has been brought along the old fashion way and could translate his college success and knack for winning to the pro game.
  24. LOL. Kellen Clemens isn't that bad! I AM NOT a college football expert. Basically I research possible draft picks and look at you tube video and read reviews. Troy Smith was a damn fine college QB and had a pretty damn good arm. I saw multiple 50 yard plus in the air passes on target to WRs. He also displayed some pocket presence and "escapability". I would gladly give up a 3rd and truthfully depending on his state of readiness a 2nd would be alright with me. Think about it. What QB are you going to get in the draft with his credentials who but for a freak illness would have been the starter in Baltimore? A mobile, big arm, Heisman winning QB who has had 4 years of polishing to learn the pro game. A gamble no doubt but I think Troy Smith would give us an option at QB much better than what we have who has by far the most potential upside of all of the free agent candidates.
  25. Who is Todd again? LOL Regardless of who he is he isn't the QB that held all of the records at the time, retired twice, only came back to get a team over the hump to the superbowl. How far behind were the Jets on the 2? Apparently a field goal wasn't enough for a go head score to waltz into the superbowl.
