  1. Not trying to make an excuse for Fitz but when you're blind side is being protected by your 3rd string LT the clock might just speed up in your head juuuuuuuuust a little bit. It's not like our 1st string guy was a probowler. If your first string guy is just "serviceable" imagine how uncomfortable your second string and then 3rd string guy is going to make the QB?
  2. No superbowl this year but play offs have become a VERY real possibility. I don't want to jinx us but going 6 - 4 the rest of the season would give us 10 wins. We are already dealing with the injury bug as usual but this year at least they aren't all going to IR. I think we need a little shot in the arm with a proven high level performer or 2 to help keep us rolling. As long as they can conceivably contribute for about 3 years or more I would say it's worth it. I'm not talking about mortgaging the future but a 4th round pick for a Wayne or a Lloyd is a no brainer. We even have an extra 4th from the Evans trade. We would still have a full compliment of picks next year.
  3. Agreed.
  4. I would agree if we didn't have 2 of our preseason top 4 WRs on IR and Donald Jones out 4 - 6. We can't take our new found success for granted. If we want to keep this rolling and playing our 4 and 5 wide sets we need another quality WR. Getting Reggie Wayne or Brandon Lloyd would be predicated upon them signing and playing for 3 to 4 years.
  5. Reggie Wayne is still solid. I saw the bit too on Sports Center about 15 minutes ago. There has also been talk about Brandon Lloyd. I would be happy with either of these two guys. We are running out of healthy WR ...AND....we always run 4 and 5 wide empty backfield sets. That is going to present a serious problem for us if we don't have the personnel. I think the practice squad recently cut player well has run dry. We need a player. What better shot in the arm than a productive experienced veteran that could help out the young guys as well as produce on the field.
  6. Some of them have been but I think it all stems from his size and his fragility. Whatever the reason he doesn't play many games. As a side note Scheffler listed a Reggie Wayne trade to the Bills as a transaction that should take place but probably won't. Imo the cupboard is getting bare and we literally wouldn't be able to afford another WR inury. As it is we only have 3 guys that are healthy and have names I know. It's a little tough to run 4 and 5 WR sets when you only have 3 WRs that know the offense. These formations are a large part of our success. We need bodies in a big way.
  7. I agree. I love Roscoe and how it seemed he was starting to be used and get a hold of Gailey's scheme but if you aren't healthy you aren't useful. He is just too small for the NFL to be able to play a meaningful number of downs. I HATE the fact that Easily gets hurt and just the right time and will basically be a 3rd year rookie who has never had a full off season or played any significant time in the regular season if he has played any at all. LLoyd could be a great fit....for a time.
  8. Brandon LLoyd is a solid veteran who still has gas in the tank. The one handed catch last Sunday that is constantly being replayed in the highlights seems to confirm that. He and Stevie as the "starters" with David Nelson coming in in 3 WR sets would be nice. The problem is what do you do with all of our injured WRs? We have Donald Jones, Marcus Easley and Roscoe Parrish that are all going to be out a few weeks and the last 2 the season? Easley is fast and has ALL the measureables, Jones was good enough to be named the #2 and Roscoe although he will never play more than 8 games a season was becoming a valuable member of the WR core and served a great purpose as a speedy inside slot guy that LB and safeties couldn't keep up with. I wonder if there would be any players involved? David Nelson played his college ball in Florida with Tebow so that would be a very logical pairing in my opinion. I wouldn't want to let go of Nelson though and it wouldn't actually help our WR numbers trading away one of the few healthy promising young guys we have for a 30 year old guy. If we get Lloyd somebody is getting cut or traded away by next year. It could just be the ebb and flow of the game but I think the passing offense has taken a hit the last 2 weeks because of our WR dropping like flies.
  9. Seriously is it that hard? LOL. These guys are idiots. It shows you how little they knew about Buffalo before the season started. Instead of lazily and causally using us as the usual media whipping boys they are now scrambling to find a roster to figure out who the hell is on the team.
  10. It's because he wasn't on the Bills roster. We have to keep drafting a QB in the first round every year until we find "The Savior". This team will never win until we get a franchise QB. Lol
  11. I'm hoping to see that as well because it will mean that we drafted good guys that have developed and can contribute quickly to a statistically very poorly ranked defense from 2010. Our numbers aren't much better but as a whole I have more confidence in this defense and expect and hope for continued improvement every few weeks.
  12. I agree for the most part but in every organization to an extent there is the veteran rule. Down to college and even high school. For instance Trent Edwards starting last season was a bit of the veteran rule in my opinion. Perhaps it might better be called the incumbent rule. I happen to like both RBs but Jackson as you mention took some time to unseat Lynch. If as some people think that Jackson is light years ahead of Lynch why did Lynch even start? It is not the only factor. Sometimes it's not even a large factor but it IS a factor.
  13. That was my guess but I haven't been able to find the starting defensive roster for week 5. I don't really recall "noticing" Andre Davis in the past but I did notice Sheppard. I guess by process of elimination if he started he would have had to have replaced Davis.
  14. Ya man. The future looks bright for these two if they don't get boned by the "veteran" rule. It's early and it's one game but I definitely knew those guys were on the field Sunday. I hope they continue to make plays and get more playing time whether it means a "solid veteran" needs to get less. Does anyone know who Sheppard replaced?
  15. I'm not sure that the statistics bare this out but it looked like the defense was more active and provided more pressure with Moats and Sheppard in there. Although he is not terrible I have never thought of Kelsay as a "play maker" and I'm not even sure who Sheppard replaced but I did notice that he was on the field and making an impact. Any idea if these changes will be permanent? We need play makers and guys that are always around the ball on the field. At the very least these guys need to get more snaps on the field.
  16. I love Fred Jackson but he is not "FAST". He is most often fast enough but he isn't really a home run hitter. Doesn't mean he can't hit the occasional home run but he is not one of those guys where you see them break through a big hole and just KNOW nobody is going to catch them.
  17. This Sunday CJ had 13 yards off of 2 carries which I believe comes to 6.5yds/carry. On the year CJ has 15 carries for for 107 yards for 7.1yards/carry. Jackson by comparison has 90 for 480 at 5.3yds/carry. That's pretty DAMN good for getting 3 carries a game. Do you REALLY expect that CJ or ANY RB is going to replace Jackson? The guy is 3rd in rushing and 2nd in yards for scrimmage in the ENTIRE LEAGUE? You don't take carries away from a guy like that. You ride that horse. Don't be retarded. You don't say Steve Young sucks because he didn't replace Joe Montana in his second year.
  18. HAhahhahahahHhhHAhAHhhHhHAHHAAHAH!! "Turned down the Dolphins"? After the tryout they probably wondered why they even bothered bringing him in and wasting their time. Dude is a memory and a bad one at that. He sucked. He always sucked and he will continue to suck.
  19. I hate to see anyone get injured especially if they are a Buffalo Bill. That being said for the money he makes I am a Kelsay hater. Let's go Carrington!!! I think we will be pleasantly surprised.
  20. BWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!! ...PHEW....THAT WAS A GOOD ONE!!
  21. But Bill Walsh said he was going to be great! He was a star in the making before someone tackled him! Dick Jauron screwed him up! Blah blah. Edwards...still sucking.
  22. I think corner is shaping up to be our biggest off season need for the reasons I stated but I certainly wouldn't complain if we got another guy for the defensive trenches. Merriman is a non factor so far and Kelsay is just ok. Carrington, Edwards Troup? Role players so far. Nothing special that I see there. I would still love for us to get a stud NT and kick KW out to DE. I know he does a great job where he is but a dominant nose tackle might allow Dareus and Williams to wreak havock in the backfield. I feel KW would be much better used as a penetrating 3 - 4 DE instead of an active NT. That being said I think our lack of youth and talent at the CB position has really lost some games for us. If I have to see McKelvin turned around one more time by a rookie WR or looking into the backfield while getting burned on yet another double move I will scream. Perhaps it's not 100% his fault because often times I see the safety get there late as well. Maybe it is a communication issue but it's not correct right now and it needs to be fixed.
  23. I hate the constant Buffalo bashing of first round picks but McKelvin is not suited for starting corner. The only thing that is making him barely serviceable now IS his athleticism. He is frequently a step or 5 behind. He can't out play WR in the air on jump balls and he buys double moves like they were on discount a Walmart. We need McGee back in a really big way. I can't believe I am actually going to say this after the last 15 years but we REALLY need to draft a CB perhaps in the first round. Terrence McGee: 30yrs old and can't stay healthy Drayton Florence: 30yrs old Leodis McKelvin: 26yrs no head for the gave Aaron Williams: 21yrs Too early to tell We are 1 more injury away from blowing several games. IMO if we had McGee in the Cincy game it would have been a different story. Well, that and if we didn't get jobbed on 3 missed pass interference calls, an on field overturn and failed challenge of what was obviously a SJ catch and a tuck rule call that erased a pickup 6. We need some talent AND youth at the CB position. McKelvin should have already "figured it out" going into his 4th year.
  24. Perhaps the 3 missed interference calls on what would have been big gainers, the erased Stevie Johnson first down yardage catch in Bengals territory late in the game and then g*d d#mn Tom Brady tuck rule had something to do with it. Just sayin'! It looked like Dalton might have completed the "tuck" before he lost the ball which is a fumble but that one is not worth arguing. If it was a "forward pass attempt" how about an ineligible WR call or grounding? If the ball its an offensive line man or there is no eligible WR in the area those are penalties too. Should it have come down to that? NO. But we still got jobbed by the zebras HARD Sunday.
  25. Correction if I am not mistaken it was called a catch on the field, THEN called an incompletion on the field and then challenged and denied. That is a HUGE issue. If the catch was ruled a catch then "indisputeable" proof would be needed to rule it an incompletion instead of the other way around.
