  1. Exactly! People just don't get that. They don't realize that Fitz was the second fastest QB in the league at getting rid of the ball. He was also the most "hit" qb PER sack which means the guy was facing much more pressure than the sack total would reveal. I'm not saying the sack numbers are 100% due to Fitz getting rid of the ball accurately or not but Fitz was a VERY large and likely the single largest factor in that low sack number. Throw in the fact that we were constantly chip blocking and double teaming with RBs and TEs and it tells you the line wasn't quite as good as we thought. Fred is a GREAT RB behind a mediocre line and CJ stepped his game up big time when he was forced in to the starting role due to Fred going on IR. Every other RB on the team had terrible numbers with the very limited opportunities they got. Our line is definitely better at run blocking than it is pass blocking but our 1-2 punch at RB was also making them look better than they were.
  2. No the Giants gave up fewer points per game. Check the stats, nfl.com. Yes the Pats' defense was red hot in the play offs. They were the 4th best defense out of 12 going into the superbowl while they were very bad in the regular season.
  3. Again you already know the answer. Think real hard and it will come to you. If no one has a better record then...... I respectfully disagree that Fitz comes up small in big games. He had a number of great comebacks when we were rolling. Hell he even put it in the hands of a couple guys in the endzone and they dropped it. NEVER waste draft picks to gamble. You will see that Fitz in this system is MUCH better than average. His stats now are already better than average by a smidgen. Wait until we give him another target or two. Get some better players on offensive line or significantly improve a few of the existing players. Get us a defense so we don't have to play in panic come from behind mode in the first half and you will see how good we can be with Fitz . The beginning of this season is what I expect to see on a consistent basis when guys are healthy and we get more talent.
  4. Pretty good! They were playing ball in the conference championship while Bills fans were at home praying for a savior messiah at QB instead of focusing on actual areas of weakness on the team.
  5. You answered your own question. Not sure why you even asked it. We led the AFC East for even longer than that by virtue or our tie breaker over New England. How about addressing any of the other points I made instead of asking questions that contain the answer you are looking for and prove nothing? lol. I love how internet forum posters gloss over 95% of the meat of a post that has relevant and insightful comment and try to nit pick, unsuccessfully, a minor point. Priceless.
  6. You mean because of things like not supporting our QB for longer than the first 6 weeks of the season when he was the #1 QB in the league before too many starters got hurt exposing our lack of depth? Kind of speaks to the revolving door of players and a plan that changes every couple years doesn't it? Listen to your own words and try supporting a guy that is better than good enough instead of calling for his replacement before he has much of any talent around him. There is that and the fact that any of our players that develop into probowlers won't get paid. Well....with the exception of KW and Aaron Schobel that is.
  7. We have seen flashes of what we have at QB when healthy. Do you really think that Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Eli Manning or Aaron Rogers could come in here and make Buffalo relevant with what scraps we were left with by mid season? If you do those aren't shitake mushrooms you're eating! A rather obvious and more mature way to look at building a good team as opposed to stepping back is acquiring talent. We lack it EVERYWHERE! In particular we need to build a good defense or a defense that is capable of playing well in the play offs if we want to win a super bowl. Start doing that and we will see a steadily improving product on the field. If we can somehow stay healthy for the first time in about 5 years we would see a rather dramatic jump in production kind of like we did at the beginning of the year when everyone including Fitz was healthy. Fitz was the leading passer in the league and the Bills had the best record in the league. It is simply mind boggling that people forgot how well we started out until the wheels flew off and the injuries started to mount. They are ready to throw out the baby with the bath water and take a lottery mentality on finding some savior messiah at 1 single position on the field. Pipe dreams!
  8. You're right....they ARE crazy...missing on a first round QB sets you back FOUR YEARS!!!!!
  9. AHMEN BROTHER!!!
  10. LOL. Right on. Don't want to get the whiny Bills fans all in a tizzy about how we can never win with Fitz and we should gamble everything to jump up and get RG3 at #2 because he is a sure fire hall of famer. These clowns clamoring for a franchise QB can't even statistically define what one is! Idiots! Define what one is statistically and then maybe I'll listen to them. I will then point out the talent level, support system and scheme in place around them.
  11. I'm not so sure that they really got hot as in their losing streak they faced San Francisco, the Eagles, the Packers, the Saints. Them getting healthy and the emergence of Cruz as a 3rd WR threat were MUCH MUCH larger factors. Now, that being said look at our team. Our slide oddly enough coincided with us getting "unhealthy" specifically at WR and offensive line. HRMMM... I wonder if the talent around a QB and their health affects his play? Oh...throw in the cracked ribs issue that has now been exposed and we might have an explanation for another mid season slide after a VERY promising start which people have some how blanked from their memory.
  12. These people need to wake up! Stop looking for a quick fix and a single point of failure to place all their blame and hatred on! I'm trying to "drop some cold hard science" on them. Going into the superbowl game the best play off defense of the 2 has won the last 4 out of 5 I believe it is.
  13. Well roughly when Wes Welker lead the league this year. LEAD the league. #1 WR in the LEAGUE......and yes I am lumping the TE's into that groups as well. Perhaps I should have said receiving targets to avoid the nit picking. So basically yes. Brady had the best WR/TE target group in the league, Wes Welker(yards) and the best TE in the league Rob Gronkowski(every relevant stat) with honorable mention for Aaron Hernandez. Go look at NFL.com. These guys comprise the #1, #5 and #15 WR's overall. Do you think that maybe, just MAYBE the protection that Tom Brady is usually afforded in the pocket and highly talented receiving targets have anything to do with his success? You see what happened when he got some pressure on him and his talent at TE was not 100%. If Brady played in Buffalo and had just signed a contract we would have called him a career loser and tried to run him out of town. How about Aaron Rogers backup Matt Flynn out playing Rogers once he got a game to start? How about Matt Cassel stepping in for Brady a couple years ago. The teams continued success should tell you something about talent level and composition being more important factors than some magical messiah QB that spins flax into gold. There is only one QB that can do that and his name is Peyton Manning. I wouldn't have even believed that until this year and the Colts incredible slide in his absence. It shows that offense alone, a undefinable franchise QB and incredibly talented receiving threats can't win championships when they are pressured by a great TEAM defense.
  14. This is a perfect example of the Bills problems. Other than a period where the Pat's line held up Brady got harassed yesterday. It is a perfect example of what can happen to a QB when he isn't allowed to get comfortable and have all day to throw. On Brady's TD throw to Woodhead he had well over 3 seconds to make that pass. Fitz by comparison has to get rid of the ball on average in 2.68 seconds. Good QBs can look bad when pressured and their WRs aren't making plays for them. Sound familiar?
  15. People are all a buzz with the new catch phrase that it is offense that wins games. Well defense still wins championships. The Giants have been proving this every superbowl they go to. Minus the superbowl wins do the current day Patriots remind you of a team in the early 90's? They could light up the score board at any given minute and rolled into 4 consecutive superbowls only to have their incredible offense fail and come up short to superior defenses and their statistically poor defense couldn't slow down the opponent's good offenses?
  16. The deluded bastards obviously expected miracles which supports the "Messiah Complex". They don't think a team will ever do anything without the new messiah that they keep looking for that can magically turn the crap talent level of 7th round picks and UDFA WRs and TEs we have into the Packers and Patriots WR cores. They are looking for a supposedly quick fix instead of doing the work and putting a TEAM and specifically a statistically competent defense together. Get us some WRs like the Saints, Packers and Patriots are loaded with that can go up and catch a ball over their heads with their hands instead of the arm cradle body catch trap guys we have.
  17. Posted this in another thread. All you have to look at is the Giant's post season DEFENSIVE stats. Points Per Game: 1st First Downs Per Game: 2nd 3rd Down Percentage: 1st Now let's look at their OFFENSIVE stats: Points Per Game: 5th First Downs Per Game: 5th 3rd Down Percentage: 6th What does this tell us? Out of 12 teams that made it into the playoffs the Giants basically had the best defense in these important game stats and they had a mediocre offense that didn't even rank in the top 1/3 of all offenses. Their defense was the best and they did this against pretty good to prolific offenses. The Falcons, the PACKERS, the 49'ers and THE NEW ENGLAND FREAKIN' PATRIOTS!!!! Defense and smart QB play wins championships! Defense and smart QB play win Superbowls. Now if only the Bills could get out of the NFL basement in defense and we can acquire some WRs other than SJ that can catch the ball over their heads with their hands instead of the platoon of body snatchers we have we would be on the right track. Does anyone else notice that good teams have WRs that can catch the ball over their head with their hands? We have guys that are tall but can't catch with their hands over their heads. They are body snatchers that have to be hit perfectly in stride.

  19. New reporters and fans love the drama and personal stories but the Giants TEAM owns the Patriots TEAM.
  20. Warner could easily end up in the hall of fame. Unfortunately you are missing my point though. Your cherry picked stats point to some good performances but you forget the warts on his career and there are many. A lot of things and situations had to go right for Warner to have had the success he did. We seem to forget the times when things weren't going right when he was stocking shelves, being replaced by a rookie or just plain stinking up the joint. To have an accurate view you have to remember the good with the bad. You have to have the vision to see what a guy can do with the right talent around him, the right scheme and the right situation. Even more difficult still is to have the vision to see that there is still value in a QB who doesn't have those things around him or he loses them mid season.
  21. Well if we started retaining and paying our probowl talent other than Schobel and Kyle Williams we might be able to address the gaping holes at pass rusher instead of drafting probowl RB after probowl RB only to run them out of town. Maybe if we had pass rushers we wouldn't need to draft a 1st round DB every 2 or 3 years.
  22. I hate the whiny BS "so and so didn't want to play for us" excuse but in his case it might actually be true. He is just another player in a long list of good talent that we didn't resign. It's frustrating to most because they want to hate them despite continued success and even worse probowl appearances. McGahee, Lynch, Jim Leonard, Jason Peters. These guys perform year after year. Smart people realize that they weren't no talent bums. They were good players that we let go to make new holes to fill. The Bills are like some weird prison road chain gang or a circle of hell where we are doomed to dig ditches in a pot hole filled road and refill those ditches back up for all eternity while we never fix the actual pot holes. Dig the hole by letting talent go and refill the hole with new draft picks while the road itself never gets any better because we are to busy digging and refilling ditches instead of repaving or filling the pot holes. This problem has existed through many different front office personnel groups and coaches. What remains the same? The guy at the top. FREE YOUR MIND!!!
  23. HELLS YEAH! I was looking at some info on the kid a few weeks back. We have plenty of needs in my opinion and probably completely different needs in Buddy's eyes but if the kid can play and he is there in the 2nd he and Alameda Ta'amu should be a very strong, no pun intended, considerations.
  24. Let me guess your financial plan for your future is buying lottery tickets and scratch offs in bulk?
  25. You have absolutely no clue. How do you explain his league leading performance through week 6 and the Bills with the best record in the NFL until the injuries started to pile up like a train wreck? What? No answer? Thought so! Stop looking at QB in a vacuum and realize that there needs to be a whole team and support group around them for them to be successful. Look at the numbers. Fitz is light years away from those guys in yards and TDs. Compare them to our last messiah that people are so desperately waiting for his replacement. Kelly had killer WRs and more than just Thurman Thomas around him. He had a line with probowlers and great players. Currently?...EXACTLY!
