  1. You have mastered the art of responding with false confidence while saying nothing. Try addressing the points I bring up not making personal attacks if you dare. This forum is for discussing points and issues. You should try it sometime. Stop with the "I know you are but what am I" kid stuff. You haven't said a thing of value no doubt because you have no intelligent response to the points and questions I raised.
  2. So a defense that gives up 27.1 pts per game is how we make the playoffs? The very worst defense(regular season) that made the play offs was the Giants who barely snuck in at 9-7 while enduring a 1-5 losing stretch because it's defense wasn't healthy gave up 25 pts. When they got hot their defense was shutting teams down. The rest of the teams that made the play offs where as low as 14 pts per game with a couple in the LOW 20's. Doesn't that tell you something? Basically what I am trying to tell you is to actually think not just buy into the franchise QB passing league BS. Those things ARE important but there are so many other factors. What you need is a team that scores more than it gives up by a significant margin which leads to wins. With the 3rd worst defense in the league giving up points we aren't going anywhere without huge upgrades there. Even if we had any of the consensus elite QBs like Brady we aren't going to average 35+ points a week with the other talent we have to over come our defensive ineptitude. Ignore this at your peril.
  3. Man you love to argue the meaningless minutia don't you? If you agree that the defense is a big problem why are you so focused on wasting so many picks for the fantasy of moving up for a POTENTIAL upgrade at QB? When everyone was healthy we were scoring enough points to win and go to the play offs. How about we fix the glaring weakness on defense? Between several of our picks, FA and a new defensive coordinator we should be able to see a huge improvement. Couple that with a healthy offense and we should be play off bound. I know the offense is capable of scoring enough points to make it to the play offs because it did when we were healthy including 4th quarter comebacks by Fitz. I also know that the defense gives up WAY too many points to make it to the play offs. If you want to make it to the play offs and potentially win a superbowl the answer is obvious. You seem like a guy that would try to put a supercharger on a formula 1 race car without having the brakes to stop it because you don't think you have the most powerful motor in the field.
  4. Yep I read that wrong. There is all kind of speculation but for Cleveland to move up from #4 they are talking 2 1st round picks (THIS year) and a 5th. It would be a lot more for the Bills to move up especially considering the price would become even more inflated if another team enters the bidding war.
  5. I see back to addressing the least important points of a post. Manning like deal it is! Thanks for pointing out that gross and completely irrelevant oversight. Your contributions are invaluable. Why do you feel shooting for .500 should be our goal? I certainly didn't. I said our defense gives up 27.1 points a week which means our offense has to average around 28 pts just to be .500. To have a winning play off bound record our offense would probably need to average around 35 pts a week with our current defensive production. What sounds more reasonable and realistic to shoot for? A 35 pt a week offense or a defense that gives up 17 - 21 pts a week that doesn't put our offense in play from two scores down mode by the 3rd quarter?
  6. And Polian's son wasn't a GM in waiting? Prior to Irsay's father giving up the team Jr was a Owner in waiting. Obviously it's a family business but it doesn't make him qualified automatically. The Colts' depth and talent level was exposed when Peyton went down but in defense of the Polians Peyton for all intents and purposes was the offense, the OC, called all of his plays and was a incredible leader. The offense was completely lost without him due to how much control and influence he had.
  7. The Rams aren't going to go for Peyton. It doesn't make sense since they invested the first pick overall for Sam Bradford. They are however looking to trade the pick. Cleveland who sits at #4 would have to give up both of their firsts THIS year and at least a 5th is being discussed. It would take a lot more than that for us to move up from #10 and we have too many holes to fill to gamble on a QB when what he have is sufficient given our other needs. Fitz has the contract, the support of the coach, the support of the front office and has proven how good he can be when the team around him, specifically his WRs and OL, are healthy. If we improve a defense that gave up 27.1 pts a week our offense won't be required to score around 28 per game just to be .500. The team will be better as a whole if we use our resources to fill our much more obvious and deep holes.
  8. LOL. Dude you kill me. It's like your saying "the world is flat" and asking me to "save my predictable arguments" for why it is round. I literally almost spit out the water I was drinking laughing. I'm repeating myself but I will remind you that TEAMS win and lose games. It's really quite simple. If you don't get it, you don't get it. I'll find other more worthy intellects to engage in meaningful discussions with. That being said, I do find your post humorous so at least that has value. Have you ever thought of a career in sports comedy? My only suggestion is to come up with some new material because your back handed Fitz whining, although funny, is starting to get old. It's all been brought up before like the huge rash of injuries at key positions that also coincide with the slide. You can't educate a stump. He's already trying to weasel out of next year if Fitz comes out blazing again if everyone is healthy. If that happens he won't admit to being wrong but that it is some sort of aberration just like last year and that Fitz sucks and it has nothing to do with any other factors. It was my fault for even entertaining participating in this thread. He's a TROLL and won't change his mind despite "the predictable arguments" for why he is wrong. Any intelligent poster has to weigh all of the factors and consider new information. People who are more concerned with being right stick to their point despite any and all information provided to the contrary.
  9. ...and you would base this on what performance indicators in the NFL? Even if RG3 eventually plays as advertised in the NFL it would be a Pyrrhic victory. Pundits are already discussing how Cleveland moving up to get RG3 from #4 to #2 would be too high a cost. What in the world do you think it would cost to move up from #10? If we did give up almost literally everything to get him who would he play with? Is he capable of learning Gailey's system and getting rid of the ball in less than 2.36 seconds? Fitz is a pretty decent runner but RG3 is no doubt better. Perhaps it would be more interesting for you to see him running for his life for a few years while playing from 21 points down by the 3rd quarter. Your crusade against Fitz is getting tired. Do you schedule yourself reminders to start some thread every day attacking Fitz from some slightly different and equally unimaginative angle? Fitz is going to be our starter for a few years. He has the contract and support of the front office and head coach to prove it. It's your choice to accept reality and support they guy who IS and will be our QB or you can continue to whine like a little girl about losing the guy your mom said you should have married even though you couldn't get him anyway!
  10. Did he go to the Stevie Johnson School of Hands?
  11. Forget it kid. We aren't going to mortgage the house so you can get a shiny new pony that has yet to play a down in the NFL.
  12. This guy will be gone by the end of the 2nd. He's too big, and too fast for someone not to take a chance on him. I will say this. If Gailey has any ties to GT left he should get the inside scoop on the kid. If we do take him I would imagine Nix and Gailey will have done their homework.
  13. I love it! The overwhelming popular choice is to trade back. Any idea who out there wants to move up to #10? I haven't heard any buzz at all!
  14. Great point. That was Jauron football. Draft a guy at one position and play him at another. It's a recipe for failure as it works out less often than it succeeds.
  15. I believe Wansted already said Sheppard is his ILB and that Barnett would be outside. If Kuechly can cover TE's I would rather have him on the outside blanketing Gronkowski after he gets jammed at the line. I was baffled all year why teams didn't jam him at the line like the Ravens and the Giants did at the end of the year. All it takes is a pass rusher to disrupt him on their way to Brady and tight coverage after 5 yards.
  16. What about the Irsay promoting HIS son?
  17. Man I hate the idea of using the 10th pick to draft a rotational player when we have so many holes but is it within the realm of possibility that Dareus and Williams could occasionally rush from the 4-3 DE spot? I know they have no where near the body type that is usually required but they are both really good penetrating DTs. The Giants kick DEs into DT spots on occasion maybe the reverse is also possible if you have guys like Williams and Dareus. I'm not saying Darues or Williams have the speed to run big arcs around an OT but who cares if they can run through an OT or throw them into the backfield.
  18. This is a good find. He should make an awesome bookend to Shawn "Good Gamble" Merriman who has been a key contributor in our defense in his 1.5 years here. Maybe they can rehab and vacation together while drawing a salary from the Bills.
  19. Now that IS interesting! I would love to drop down a bit and get him. 10?....I don't know. If he doesn't pan out we look like idiots for reaching so high with so many other needs.
  20. People get too caught up in the pass first league crap. If we really are that obsessed with it we need much better WRs and we need a line that affords it's QB more than an average of 2.36 seconds to get rid of the ball. What we do have are two really good RBs and it is foolish for us to not use them more. Both can run and both can catch. I understand Gailey's philosophy about using the pass to set up the run but you still have to run it. I'm still a bit old school in that a GREAT offensive line can open up holes for their RB even when the defense knows you are going to run. That is the difference. IF you have to rely on trickery 100% to get the run game going you don't have the right guys blocking up front.
  21. Sound to me like OT is our first round pick this year. Nix and Gailey fool everyone by telling them exactly what they want to do in the draft and then everyone assumes it's a smoke screen. Nix is not really high on the DEs at the top of the draft and likes the talent in rounds 2 - 5. Ingram and Upshaw are short with short arms and he even identified Upshaw as a bull rusher that won't get away with it every down in the NFL. We are looking at FA CBs so we are likely to fill that need there. He likes the tackles and is more impressed with these two guys over Reiff who I heard could even project as a Guard to start. Unless someone falls to us it looks like we are going with an OT. We had a rotating collection of "potential" at LT last year that couldn't consistently get the job done. We would be served well to get a day 1 starter that can stay healthy. I want a pass rushing DE or LB that is also stout against the run but if they aren't there at #10 don't reach!
  22. Buzz doesn't win games. We can't use our draft picks much less package them together to gamble on moving up for a QB. We have real weaknesses and holes we need to fill. I can't recall which combine article I was reading on nfl.com but Bill Polian, yes that Bill Polian, said that we are all set at QB with Fitz. I think he knows a thing or 10 about putting together a football team. The only buzz it creates is for the desperate fans that are praying for a QB messiah savior that will magically come in and turn our rag tag bunch of WRs, a o-line and scheme that affords the QB less than 2.36 seconds to throw into a suprebowl team over night.
  23. I'm not doing anything with your poll. All a poll does is gauge opinion. It has nothing to do with what is or isn't true. The last resort of a man with nothing to respond with regarding everything that works in Eli's favor that works against Fitz in our situation. Maybe if you're lucky you will find others that are also as frustrated as you are and want a single face to focus their hatred upon. I hope you find others to commiserate with so you have someone to cry in your beer with. I'll be cheering for the Bills, supporting Fitz and hoping that we use our resources to focus on this team's real problems. Good luck and have a good weekend!
  24. Flirting? I almost threw up in my mouth. If you haven't been paying attention I have absolutely been saying that football is a team game and the TEAMS' success or failure is a product of everyone involved on BOTH sides of the ball. I'm just having fun with it at this point with Marauder. When someone refuses to address direct points and issues put forth and responds with flippant, silly, meaningless comments and doges discussing the issues it's the closest thing you will ever get to a victory on an internet forum where no one is ever wrong and nobody ever changes their mind. Pissing myself with laughter metaphorically perhaps...pissing match, no. That would imply that there is some sort of equal footing between us and that there was relevant content to his posts.
  25. ....and the reason why he had the opportunity to do that instead of being down by 2 or 3 scores like a typical Bills final 2 minutes? It was Eli's incredible offense that amassed a whopping 14 pts up until a couple minutes left in the entire game with a single passing TD in the first quarter that allowed Ahmad Bradshaw to RUN for the game winning TD! Man where do we get a QB that can single handed win a game like that against one of the worst regular season defenses in the league?!?!?!? 21 pts for the win? The man is a god! Did you see all that pressure Eli put on Brady coming off the edge to help hold the Pats super high scoring offense to 17 pts? Defense?...HELL NO....it was Eli!!! Eli was everywhere! I was especially impressed with Eli's sack safety in the first quarter. He has really been working on his rip move to beat OTs.
