As you well know in a thread the topics shift and change, real agendas are revealed and other facets of the discussion are brought up. Where we were at the time in the discussion was discussing a QBs win loss record which is more of a function of the team they are on than their individual performance. We were also exposing the fact that Mr Edwards percentage wise better than Losman win/loss record is misleading due to the fact that Trent doesn't beat teams with better than .500 records.

Let's not loose focus. We are talking about Trent's struggles and the fact that he doesn't beat teams with BETTER than a .500 record. Last I checked JP isn't waiting on the bench to sub in for Trent. Trent may or may not be on a bench somewhere in the league in 2010, but who cares?!?!?!?! Are we really discussing the minutia of which one was even MORE inadequate? I'll be able to move on when Trent is on the bench and we get to see what we have in Fitz, get a good free agent or start fresh in the draft with the early pick we are well on our way to earning.

We ran the no huddle slowly. With the number of offensive plays we ran multiplied by even another 5 seconds per we're talking less than 2 minutes. You can't tell me that had a significant impact compared to poor execution. Have to disagree. Trent does have enough time to survey the defense as there is still time left on the clock. If he was frantically trying to read the defense before the play he should take the extra time that is left on the play clock to do so. Another good point you bring up that I have noticed is that a vast majority of the time when Trent does audible it IS to an unsuccessful run play. This of course leads me to believe that he is checking out of a potentially good pass play call to a bad run call. It also reinforces my belief that Trent CAN'T properly read defenses.

What I DO find as humorous is that when you make an honest critique of Trent the apologists have to dredge up the corpse of JP as a defense. A man has to stand on his own two feet and be judged on his OWN merit or lack there of!

WRONG!!! JP put up TDs and numbers all throughout the game. Stop alleging things you have no proof of!!!!

Entire teams have win and loss records. The opponents record as a reflection of how good they are as a team has a lot to do with it as well. Tell me how many of Trent's 13 wins came against teams that had a BETTER than .500 record

If the lineman aren't getting the snap count you can blame the no huddle. I highly suspect that they are.

We have offensive problems but it's not the no huddle. Tell me exactly how many of those plays would have succeeded if they were called in a huddle vs at the line????????

If Trent was still playing this bad but somehow we were magically winning ....YES!!! Until we finally get a good franchise QB with both a brain and an arm we will be discussing the current guy vs the last guy for a while.

SOOO...What stats in there prove your point? Trent and JP both averaged 1 TD and 1 INT a game? If one sucks so does the other!!!! At LEAST I can say one thing for JP. His single best year beats Trent's single best year: Losman 3051yds 19tds 14ints (16 games) Edwards 2699yds 11tds 10ints (14 games) I can buy the argument that JP wasn't the guy. But it is completely ridiculous to say that Trent who hasn't performed as well and can't beat teams with above a .500 record IS. That's just crazy.

SOOOOO...what was Trent's good season again? JP broke his leg in camp and was out for WEEKS. There was no way he was going to start. It's not like they were "bringing him along slowly". And NO, Edwards was not pulled in and out. He got hurt!

Ryan is ONLY good because he has a good coach. Just like Trent only sucks because he has a bad one! LOL

Apparently you haven't been to any games to see the WR open and Trent either doesn't see them or throws terrible balls.

Although interesting that Trent has more yards per completion than the 3 you mention with your cherry picked stat the ONLY stat that matters for a QB is TDs and to a lesser extent yards. Try looking up how many long and intermediate balls those guys have connected on. Let me know when we start winning games and getting points for yds/completion.

Of course he doesn't. Great players succeed because they are great players. Bad players, specifically Trent Edwards, fail because of bad coaching. Didn't you get the memo on the double standard.

It is a little yin but I think it's more yang. Jauron led teams have not fared well looking at his record. I am specifically speaking to Trent's game day performances and measurables. These can be impacted by coaching but Dick Jauron doesn't throw the football. AVP doesn't tell Trent to NOT throw the ball to WRs that are open. This is part of the problem with our society. NO personal accountability....I'm screwed up because my parents sucked...I robbed the liquor store because I was abused as a child.

I will agree with you on this point. If the coaches DON'T replace Edwards...that is bad coaching. These guys make millions a year. If we see the problem I'm going to assume they see it too and have/are attempting to address it. If Trent isn't responding time for him to take a seat.

Do you disagree with any of those statements? All we need do is look as far back as the Miami game for an EXCELLENT example of each of the points that I brought up that weren't attributable to coaching.
