We'll see. Fitz seemed to do well against the Jets exotic blitzes as they say. He didn't take a sack in the almost 3 quarters of football he played. True the Jets didn't have many sacks on the year but were known for bringing lots of pressure. One way or another I want to see some exciting QB play. I want to see some chances taken, I want to see some NFL throws attempted. I want to see a performance on offense that is NFL worthy.

It's not like it's the most attractive of glamorous city in the NFL to give us the edge. Perhaps the one thing Levy did get right in his stint as a GM was to try to properly compensate players for the job he wanted them to do. Problem is the free agent talent we signed, particularly on the offensive line, didn't quite live up to it.

Ya based on the compliments the coaches and PLAYERS are giving Fitz and making back handed criticisms of Edwards. I think that along with the fact that it can't get any worse than Edwards we have a real good shot against a mediocre team. It is funny how you point out the teams short comings in not being able to stop the run and then put it on Fitz to overcome that rather large disadvantage I guess if Carolina has 200+ yards rushing and we lose it's Fitz fault right? LOL

I LOVE and HATE threads like this. I won't address every prediction but I think Fitz will have a good game. I think 2 TDs is VERY possible as well as 2 INTs. TDs put points on the board INTs are no guarantee of points for the opponent. I think Fitz will come in at just about 200yds in a Bills win. Carolina will likely rush for about 200 as well. The sad thing is everyone that thinks Fitz will bomb will forget this thread ever existed and will never admit they were wrong about him. They will go fluff Trent's pillows for his squishy head and await the return of the messiah.

If you look at the article AVP credits Fitz with getting his team into the right protections. He also didn't take a sack in that game. Doesn't sound like someone that is worse than Trent in those respects. "2 recievers far far better than Owens and Evans " You're kidding right? How about you compare the 2008 numbers for Evans and Owens vs Ochocinco and Housh!!! Tell me again how they are far far better? What a JOKE! Also tell me how good their running game looked for the ENTIRE year!!! Benson didn't do much of anything until about the last 4 games of the season. The Bengals last year were NO better a team or organization than what the Bills have here now. Who is to say that Fitz couldn't easily go the 10 game equivalent of 4 - 3 -1 in Buffalo the remainder of this year? Can we please drop the concussion "explanation"? It is interesting that rotoworld thinks that he has one of the weakest NFL arms yet AVP his offensive coordinator thinks it is one of his strengths and that he stretches the field. One could VERY easily infer that Trent's arm is certainly weaker. Perhaps THE weakest in the NFL now that Pennington is out for the season.

Wow...even in admission that Trent sucks people are still taking shots at Losman. Since Edwards was never better than Losman I don't see how he could regress to his level. He started there.

(Should only get better with reps with his WR) 2) Team mates are approaching the backup QB to ask him what he sees out there. (I have been looking for sometime and unlike other QBs who are leaders I don't see Trent talking to his WRs or anyone else of importance, for that matter, on the offensive side of the ball) 3) Lee Evans considers Fitz someone you can trust and likes to be around. (Could be normal backup QB support drivel but I don't recall hims saying anything directly positive about Edwards) 4) AVP had this to say about Fitz which in a backhanded way says a LOT about Trent and directly contradicts some of the apologists defenses of him. “He’s got a big arm. That’s one of the things with stretching the field is more comfortable to him. Protection issues is something he’s really strong with in terms of knowing who’s coming and getting protections adjusted. Those are some of his strong points.” -AVP If both QBs are equally as good at these things why point these things out as being strengths of Fitz? He very easily could have said that Fitz is ALSO good at these things so the offense won't skip a beat.

Riiight. Terrible comparison but I get your point. The only accomplishment that could top a black man becoming the president of the united states is a jewish pope. As you say Trent was never really anything more than a guy that wasn't JP. He's had a few good games and a lot of bad ones. I did raise my expectation slighty when we signed Owens but Trent hasn't been able to use him and TO seems disinterested at this point. I say ST is by far the biggest disappointment because I actually had high hopes for them and expected the usual top 5 performance.

Hopefully we will see if that point has even the slightest chances of having any truth to it. I haven't see it affect JP Losman and to this point I haven't seen it affect Fitz. Might be time for that Trent defense to die along with the many others. When all the onion leaves of excuses are peeled back we will probably see that Trent is truly not the guy to lead us.

Chad Johnson wasn't Chad Johnson last year. Seeing as how he is now Chad Ochincinco I guess he isn't Chad Johnson this year either lol. "Chad" admitted that he gave up last year and mailed it in. Once again it's not whether Fitz is the next Jim Kelly, it's does he give us a better chance to win right now. Fitz started a bunch of games in Cincy last year and if I'm not mistaken threw a couple 300 yarders. He also won a bunch too on a Cincy team that wasn't really that great. I don't see how people can run down Fitz but back Trent to the hilt. At this point I think it is pretty safe to say we know what Trent is. He's not the long term answer unless your goal is mediocre records every year.

If people can't see that Trent is "a barely serviceable backup" in 3 years what makes you think we will see that in Fitz so quickly? LOL

There are two things that stick out for me that the 10 - 25 doesn't show: 1) The 1 - 1 he was on in stride slant passes to Lee Evans for a TD. 2) Including the TD he attempts passes Edwards can't or won't attempt. I don't know that anyone is saying Fitz is the final answer at QB but I think we are saying is that he is likely better than Edwards. Lets give this guy 80% of the reps in practice with the first team for a few weeks and see what he can do!!! Edwards could have gone 10 -25. I actually he think he would have done a lot better. Problem is he doesn't throw TD strikes and he can't/won't go down field meaning we lose the game.
