  1. I agree with that but do you also separate out the dead ball era or the aphetamine era? She is much more a purist than I am when it comes to records which is why she is so upset. It doesn't matter to me because I think anyone that cares enough about those records know who the true record holders are. I completely buy Barry doing it because of the attention McGwire and Sosa were getting. Those were 2 subpar guys that cashed out on peds among many others. Brady Anderson hit 50 freaking home runs. Barry was a hofer before peds/steroids and I think guys like that should go in. I have a bigger problem with Ortiz than Barry but it gets to be nitpicking. They should just have a separate wing for the steroid era because they were also facing pitchers who were juicing. It was a black mark on the history of baseball but the sport is littered with them; blacksox, color barrier, Pete Rose betting (overblown imo), greenies, steroids, hgh. Who knows what Maris was doing when he had his out of nowhere season. At this point for me it is just another thing that happened in sports but I'm not a purist and 755/61/.406 are still my gold standards for wow! performances
  2. With how much we enjoy Schadenfreude around here I can't believe no one has mentioned this stat! Tom Brady currently has the lowest completion % of any QB in the NFL enjoy seeing him at the bottom of the list! I wonder if Pats* fans are picking 1 pass and dissecting it to death too
  3. I never fought the idea of boxing being fixed. I'm just a little younger than you but I thought growing up it was just well known. Tennis is interesting and until you mentioned it I never really put PEDs in the sport but Serena I could certainly see, she is built like a tank! Since your a huge baseball fan I'll bring up a conversation I had with my sister. She argues that Arod taking roids was bad for him because it ruined his legacy. I say it was good for him because it helped him earn a half billion dollars. Cushing and other guys may not have ever sniffed the NFL or their big contracts if not for steroids/peds. They made the trade of reputation for money, reputation for fame, etc... I make that trade 7 days out of 7. They can take away Lance's 7 tour de frances but none of his sponsorship money that he earned along the way. I completely see why guys do it. I wanted to add one more thought to this thread as well. I have felt for a few years now that Boston has a balco type lab that supplies all of their sports teams. It is another one of those things that really stand out when all of your professional teams excel within a 10 year period. I admit to being jaded and well also hating every Boston sports team but it seems to perfect that Brady can play as long as he has, Ortiz is a known juicer (although for some reason people don't really care, etc..., and they win championships at a historic rate. At some point I fully believe Boston will be revealed to have a ped lab that supplied a lot of guys.
  4. Buy - Tre White, those were some experienced plays. That breakup on the fade was a big boy play Sell - I would say Wood. I liked what I saw from Groy last year and think he can do the job just as well and for much cheaper. I would sell Wood while his stock is still up. (Don't trade him please football gods this is all hypothetical! ) Hold - TT, I guess I'm just uneducated but I see a guy who continues to improve, takes care of the ball and did several of things people said he couldn't during this last game (throw to the te, throw over the middle, hang in the pocket) as well as the electric plays we know (scrambling for first down on 3rd, that strike to Mathews).
  5. I fought the idea of tiger and peds for a while but can't any longer. At this point any time anyone does anything amazing I automatically assume peds. It sucks to think thay way but does anyone really think usain bolt is clean for example?
  6. Vlad is certainly bad but I do remember Astro's reports mentioning Miller multiple times in the last one out list and the dogging it list.
  7. Thanks for this Bo! Awesome work and much appreciated. The int appeared to me to be on both guys. Not a great throw but a ball a professional should catch. Great hit by the safety though and I get why Clay didn't hold on. The play you highlighted in the 1st quarter where TT scrambles around on 3rd and 11 before finding, I believe Mathews, was just a wow play and my favorite from TT in the game. That is a play that not too many guys can make.
  8. you don't watch much football do you? I did the stat comparison and TT outplayed Cam last year by so much including Cam's MVP season only some of his numbers were better. If you don't like Tyrod you would despise Cam and his sub 60% completion percentage. You know if you watched him play at all.
  9. https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/156899-my-mock-draft/?hl=jelani+jenkins Look at how poorly I did with my mock lol
  10. I loved Jenkins coming out in the draft! Happy to see this signing!
  11. Alex Smith and Sam Bradford were 2 guys that made me go wow this weekend. Bradford looked fantastic last night. Brady/Manning/Roethlisberger have skewed this for most fans imo. Those 3 have dominated the AFC playoffs and made people feel that a great qb is necessary to get to and win the super bowl. Recent Super Bowl QBs include Russel Wilson (who got there and won where he passed for 103, 215, and 206 yards on his way), Cam Newton who Tyrod outplayed last year, Peyton Manning on his last legs, Joe Flacco, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Hasselback, and Rex Grossman. It takes a whole team to win a super bowl not just a qb. Peyton Manning is the perfect example of a transcendent qb who routinely couldn't win in the playoffs because he dragged subpar teams with him. Drew Brees can't even lead his team to a winning record!
  12. https://twitter.com/YardsPerPass/status/907602786086539264 This play was my favorite of the day. There you go again you COTer sheesh settle down.
  13. Not paying attention to what is currently happening is also bush league. I'll step up to the box and compare the 2. Cam Newton since 2015 (yes this includes the 15-1 season): 234.9 yards passing per game, 266 combined yards per game (rush and pass), 56.3 completion %, 7.16 ypa, 2.2 combined tds per game (rush and pass), 25 ints, 6 fumbles lost Tyrod since 2015: 209 yards passing per game, 248.9 combined yards per game (rush and pass), 62.4 completion %, 7.64 ypa, 1.7 combined tds per game (rush and pass), 13 ints, 7 fumbles lost So including an MVP season for Cam he edges out Tyrod in volume stats but not efficiency stats. Tyrod has a higher ypa, completion %, and less ints. That should show you how bad Cam was last year. Somehow Cam is elite completing 56.3% of his passes? Somehow he is elite because he contributes 17.1 more yards per game? Remember this includes an MVP season. Here is more interesting info on Cam: He has completed more than 60% of his passes only 2 seasons out of 6, 60% his rookie year and 61.7% in year 3. 4 other years he failed to reach that number He has thrown for more than 25 td passes only once in his career when he had 35 in 2015. He has never thrown less than 10 ints in a year He has only had a qb rating over 89 once in his career. Cam had a fantastic Rookie year and 2015 and 2015 appears to be an outlier to his actual performance which if you recall was a year where the Panthers played the easiest schedule in the NFL. Other than that he has been very pedestrian.
  14. I was shocked by Houston's overall performance. With Watt returning and it being the home opener after Harvey, I was shocked to see the stinker.
  15. The Bills rush defense was very stout yesterday. They only gave up 2.5 ypa which is currently good for 5th in the league. They also gave up a long run of 11 yards which is tied for 5th as well. The 38 yards they gave up puts them in 3rd place. All a huge improvement over the multiple 200 yard rushers from last year. Updated: still tied for 5th with 2.5 ypa, moved to 6th with long run (Minn gave up a long of 9). Still 3rd place for 38 yards. Usually the pass defense suffers when a team has a strong rush d performance but that wasn't the case yesterday. The Bills gave up 176 yards passing good for 9th in the league and an amazing 4.8 ypa good for 2nd. Cumulatively the defense sits in 2nd place. update: all of these numbers stayed the same! Offensively the rush offense sits at #1 in yards and #4 in ypa. The longest rush was 27 yards good for 4th in the league. update: all of these numbers stayed the same. The Bills scored 21 points yesterday which is good for a tie at 11th with the Steelers. There were 6 teams that scored less than 10 points yesterday! Including Seattle, Houston, NYG, and Cincy all hopeful playoff teams. Moved down to 13th as the Broncos and Vikes moved ahead of them. These are all easily looked up but I like to dig a little deeper especially on the hot button players so let's start with the hottest button Tyrod passed for 224 yards yesterday which was good for 14th in the league more than Eli, Cam, Joe Flacco, Russel Wilson, Andy Dalton and others. Tyrod totaled 262 yards which moved him up to 13th in yards for the game and ahead of Kirk Cousins and 2 yards behind Derek Carr. update: Tyrod moved to 16th as Simien and Rivers did not beat his 224 yards. He is 15th in yards per game as Brees and Bradford had more yards. Tyrod had a ypa of 8 which is very good and was 5th in the league. His rating of 92 was good enough for 8th in the league. He moved to 6th for ypa as Sam Bradford was lights out (seriously he looked GOOD). Interestingly all 4 qbs had a higher rating than him last night and he sits at 12th. Shady had 110 yards rushing which was the 2nd highest output in the league while averaging 5.0 ypc good for 3rd in the league. He and Kareem Hunt are the only 2 rushers with more than 10 attempts in the top 5. By the way #5 on the list? Tyrod. Tyrod moved to 3rd behind Dalvin Cook for total yards and 4th for ypa also behind cook. Tyrod bumped to 6th best ypa. So at the end of week 1 Tyrod put up a top 10-15 performance in the league and Shady put up a top 3 performance. The defense put in a top 2 performance. So again, although it was the Jets and the score was only 21-12 this was a dominant performance by the team on offense and defense. Here is a list of notable qbs that Tyrod outperformed: Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Blake Bortles, Russel Wilson, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Phillip Rivers, and Eli Manning among others. Those are a lot of names that people think are better than Tyrod. start mini rant I stand by my claim that Tyrod is better than Flacco, has been for the last 2 years, and started out the same again this year. Before you yell look at the numbers. Then the next time you want to talk about Super Bowl winning qbs and how Tyrod could NEVER do that remember Joe Flacco has one. The next time you want to say he is a backup at best look at the list of guys he outperforms. With a down year last year he outperformed Cam and Eli. Appreciate what we have... /rant
  16. I came across this last year as well. It is why he is my player comp for TT. Smith is more athletic than he is given credit for and has great mobility. It also took a looooonnnnngggg time for that light to come on with him.
  17. Thanks for the entertainment and making the end of the day go by. I hope your next attempts aren't as obvious
  18. 3 for 8 is 37% 4 for 11 is 36.36% This is why I think you are trolling. Your opinions don't reflect reality and the stats from the game or compared to other players. Those who purposely ignore facts and evidence to post contrarian things are trolling.
  19. I liked that the team didn't take dumb penalties and the amount of gang tackles was nice. I didn't like that they went into a run run pass shell. I would have liked to see a little more foot on the throat. Wait and see wait and see
  20. eh I figured it out a couple of posts ago he's simply trolling.
  21. The 3rd downs you are using as a barometer for TT not playing well were all 3rd and long. Which has a very low conversion percentage across the NFL. The Bills as a team both passing and total were in the top half of the NFL in conversion. The Bills did very well converting 3rd downs when they weren't in a shell and running clock.
  22. Trolololololo Every single 3rd and less than 5 was converted
