  1. I agree. I think after that game he was told he might not make the roster and retired instead of being cut/quit.
  2. I pretty firmly believe he ruined his reputation at the end of his Bills stint. Then he signed a big money contract with NO and under performed. He's likely viewed very poorly in the NFL community. He won't play if he doesn't want to and didn't play well the last time he laced em up. Not a good recipe to stay in the league where teams are always looking to get younger and cheaper.
  3. for some background... I'm pro legalization and work in hr. The NFL doesn't have to allow marijuana use. They get to determine if they want to make concessions on it but can hold employees (players) to the federal standard. I just went through a webinar about marijuana and the workforce. I thought going I that people with prescriptions would be protected by the ada but unfortunately it isn't so.
  4. Remember Carson Wentz's first 4 games just last year too. Watson looks good so far but still a long way to go. Didn't Fitz go for 300+ and a couple tds in his first start too?
  5. it seemed that way on tv. a few of the reviews I thought were going against the Bills because of the crowd roar. only 1 time did it get noticeably loud on tv for the falcons. it happened several times for the Bills.
  6. So you don't watch Alex Smith play? I have said time and again Smith to me is the best player comp in the league to TT. The Chiefs are highly successful and have been over the last several years. The difference between the Bills and Chiefs has been talent on both sides of the ball and coaching not qb play. Seriously look up the stats. It may have to do with transplants thread. Instead of saying something nice they just aren't saying anything at all I agree if the teams need a qb but that is a big if. The season has to shake out but teams with a chance at a top 2 pick include Chargers (unless they want move on from Rivers), Bengals (same with Dalton), Colts (Luck), Texans (Watson), Giants (Eli), Niners (possible Cousins destination), Seahawks (wilson), Bears (Trubisky), Bucaneers (Jameis), and Saints (Brees). Obviously it is only week 3 and many of these teams may right the ship but the draft is a long way away. There may be a team or several teams that look to deal bc they don't need a qb much like the titans 2 years ago. I think Peterman, TT, and the draft pick should all get the chance to win the job and best man wins. I don't want anyone handed it. Not Tyrod because he is the incumbent, not the draftee because he was a high pick, and well peterman will only get it IF he really outshines the other guys. Okay I disagree with a lot of your posts but this was hilarious! I too ran this last year or the year before. It turns out having a lot of 300+ yards passing usually meant you had a poor defense and/or were trailing in a lot of games and forced to pass. Having a lot of 100+ yard rushing games meant you had a good defense and/or led in a lot of the games and therefore sat on the ball. Wins were much more correlated to runs but the causation wasn't running = wins it was wins = running. Much the same passing didn't = losses but losses meant passing at least imo from the numbers I ran and looking at the context of those numbers.
  7. To your bolded I agree 100% I didn't care for Orton because he meant nothing to the team and watching him slide short on that one play was exactly the reason why. He did nothing for the long term question for the Bills. I guess I feel like people who want Peterman do now. We could have gotten the answer on EJ in 2014 good, bad, or otherwise. Instead we got our own version of smokin jay.
  8. I was an ej guy and still think he got a raw deal here. It was definitely time to move on but I thought the rug was pulled out from under him first by injury and then by Marrone. He wasn't given a fair shot to develop the only way I think a qb can, by playing games. Now the jets game last year reinforced to me that he most likely would never get it but again the Bills are very much to blame for his poor development imo. Tyrod is much better than EJ and I think he showed it in camp and proved it all throughout the last 2 years. He was luckily developed by Jim Harbaugh and the Ravens before going on the field for the Bills and getting his on the job training.
  9. Yeah I did send you one. For me Flacco's success was so long ago it doesn't count anymore. Cam (imo) is washed up. Physically he isn't right and he doesn't strike me as a mentally strong guy. Add in the wear and tear of his style and his limited passing skillset and I wouldn't take him over TT either. That is before factoring in contracts which slant it even further towards TT. Fans clamored for improvement and I think we are seeing it with TT. They asked for throws over the middle, quick releases, winning games without the running game being effective, and to be consistent. He is doing all of those things THIS YEAR. He did have a stinker in Carolina, so did the whole offense. I have stated this point over and over. When we draft a guy next year and if he came in and put up 51 tds to 15 ints over his first 32 games we would be pumped and think we have the answer. People don't feel that way with Tyrod. I think they lean to hard on it being his 7th year in the league instead of looking at it as his 3rd year starting. He is still fairly young for a qb and progressing. He hasn't been figured out as some want to say. I'm still on the qb in the draft train because I want him to be pushed and the Bills to play the best guy not someone because they are the only guy. If they draft a guy and immediately name him starter without making him earn it first I will disagree with the move. Whomever is the starter next year and beyond will be the winner of the competition much like Tyrod was 2 years ago.
  10. Using my computer.... Tyrod is 17-15 as a starter. Please don't be asinine enough to attribute 17 years of suck to a guy who is on his 3rd year with the team...
  11. What does Flacco bring to the table other than past success from 5 years ago, no team success since, major injury, a much better coaching and organization situation without results, and he is a tall white guy? I wish we could bet on that. How about that Cam bet? 2 tds, 4 ints, 188.67 passing yards per game aren't pro bowl numbers. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league and Flacco hasn't done anything in a long time to be considered a good qb. Russel Wilson is another guy who was successful with a great team around him. Once they got paid there wasn't the money to keep the great team around them and they are both struggling to carry the load by themselves. BTW great QBs should take the Tyrod deal. It allows a better team to be placed around them. I am a firm believer of Brady's success partly coming from his willingness to take less than market level deals. He has the 19th highest contract in the league Tyrod the 21st. As opposed to Flacco who is the highest paid qb. In fact of the top 10 qb contracts only Kirk Cousins (8-7-1), Matt Ryan (11-5), Aaron Rodgers (10-6), and Ryan Tannehil (9-7), and Andrew Luck (8-8) had winning records last year. These crazy contracts are crippling teams. I've provided stats to back up my point. Flacco is BAD and people would be screaming if they only watched him...
  12. Can people do some research before spouting off. We are all on computers or phones with internet access. 2016 bottom 10 passing yards and winning record: Texans, Titans, Dolphins, Dallas 2015 bottom 10 passing yards and winning record: Vikings, Chiefs, Bills, Green Bay, Carolina 2014 bottom 10 passing yards and winning record: Chiefs, Niners, Seattle, Texans So every year 4 or 5 teams that finish in the bottom 10 of the league finish with a winning record. It can and does happen...
  13. Isn't 40 % closer to 50 than 25%? Further the best team in the league last year finished at 48.6% literally no team in the league does what you are asking... Thank you! Why exaggerate to make a point unless the point is too weak to stand on its own... People are losing their minds that Tyrod put up 3 against Carolina who has a top 3 defense by most metrics. However Russel put up 12 and 9 points against GB and SF defenses who aren't considered to be good defenses. Russel has led Seattle to 12 or fewer points 7 times since the start of last year (out of 21 games). So 33% of the time Russel leads his team to less than 12 points. How much would Tyrod be getting killed on here if he did that? Out of 18 games Tyrod has done it twice. That is 11% of the time. Everyone needs to step back and look at guys around the league. Tyrod IS outperforming Eli, Cam, Flacco, Wilson, Dalton, among others. Just because he is the Bills qb doesn't mean he sucks.
  14. Anyone paying attention absolutely would. Since Tyrod became the starter in 2015 he has outperformed Flacco. I think the Ravens wish they had Tyrod over Flacco and his bloated contract. Contract aside as per your statement: Tyrod since 2015 (32 games) : 206.89 passing yards per game on 27.97 attempts per game, 246.06 combined yards per game, 7.34 ypa, 41 passing tds and 51 total tds, 13 ints, 62.7 qbr, 96.06 qb rating, 64.16 completiong % Flacco since 2015 (29 games) : 257.7 passing yards per game on 39.7 attempts per game, 260 combined yards per game, 6.16 ypa(!), 37 passing tds and 42 tds total, 31 ints, 44.57 qbr, 77.27 qb rating, 63.4 completion % Flacco is the wrong example to use. Tyrod is a much better qb than him. He got hot for one super bowl run (he can thank the Denver DB for a terrible misplay) and has lived on that reputation since. The numbers are right in front of you. Tyrod has better ypa, more tds passing, more tds total, less ints, better qbr, better qb rating, better completion %. Tyrod has outplayed several "franchise qbs" since he took over the starting job.
  15. Put me in the camp of last gaga not being a lady. I have a young daughter who loves timberlake. he is incredibly talented. His stuff with Andy Samberg and jimmy Fallon is fantastic and that doesn't count the music which although it isn't my taste is wildly successful as well. He's talented and pulled better tail than you stop hating
  16. Citing Eli (252), Flacco (270), and Wilson (264) discredits your posting. That is there per game average last year. Even better Eli had 4 games over 300 last year, Flacco had 4 and Russel had 3. So each threw for less than 300 yards in 75% of their games. Again 300 is some random cherry picked mean nothing number and a full 75% of the time guys you are touting aren't reaching it. Further TT outplayed ALL of those guys last year and so far this year. Did you see Flacco this week? How about Eli or Russel the first 2 weeks? Watch the rest of the league.... Edit: Did more digging Luck 5 games over 300, Big Ben 4, Rodgers 6, Stafford 4, Matt Ryan 5. Blake Bortles had 5 as well clearly he is a superior qb to TT, Big Ben, Stafford and others...
  17. DiMarco's bread and butter is that catch. No idea why it wasn't him there.
  18. I love this idea of being offended FOR veterans. Not all veterans care and many that I have talked to support the right to protest but not all. That's the thing everyone can have their opinion on this and even voice it. That is what the flag represents. That is what the anthem represents. I stand and honestly get chills EVERY time I hear (which is quite often due to being a sports official). I don't really care if others do and definitely don't care to get upset on someone else's behalf. That is their right as an American period.
  19. Yeah but what girl is he going to bring to the Super Bowl party. We are all dying to know...
  20. Yeah the whole going to the ground was what caused it to be incomplete but if it is consistently applied then Tolbert is a non-catch as well. Think Calvin Johnson a couple of years ago on a catch IN the end zone.
  21. He doesn't look like what they want their qb to look like. I'll leave it at that... I don't agree at all see below... I might be one of the bigger TT defenders on the board. I'm fully on board with a first round qb still. The position is that important and the Bills have a ton of draft capital. However I don't want the Bills to move on from TT until the first rounder or draftee proves that he is the better option. So grab a guy and make him earn it. I'm comfortable with TT as the starter until something better comes along or the young guy passes him in ability. If TT ends up getting "it" then awesome and would be a good problem to have. I'm dreaming of a Brees/Rivers scenario but that would be absolutely best case.
  22. Agreed I think it was a td but also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't overturn it. I was however shocked by the overturning of the Sanders catch which I thought was a catch and then fumble.
  23. How about the Russel Wilson led Seahawks or the dead body of Peyton Manning? Is that not recent enough for you? I brought up 2 other guys and much more recent. I'm working on another perspective post but haven't had too much time this week to get it out yet. However last year while I was doing them there wasn't really a correlation to passing for 300 yards and winning. Rushing for more than 100 yards however did. Think about this, what teams pass? The teams losing for the majority of the game and in catch up mode. Much like great teams usually have "poor pass defense" because teams pass against them so much as they are behind most of the game. Here are 300 yard passers for 2017 12 - 11 is the record. So 47 games with 94 qbs and 23 of them passed for 300 yards. That's 24.4% of qbs. So 75% of qbs aren't throwing for 300 yards through 3 weeks. Further Carson Wentz (2), Aaron Rodger (3), Carson Palmer (2), and Tom Brady (2) are the only qbs in the NFL to do it more than once. Digging even further Carolina and Denver are both in the top 10 for passing yards allowed and the Jets are 13th. This is 100000000% correct. We have an emotional attachment to Tyrod's performance and therefore are much more critical of him without paying attention to the state of qb play around the league.
  24. I was wondering about this call. I almost thought it was a designed look off pass to clay. That is the type of play call I love for Tyrod. It gives him so many options for whatever the defense gives him.
