  1. Seriously. Anyone who despises Tyrod it will take you 1 week or maybe 2 before you have the same complaints with Smith. If they are going to do this I would rather they just kept TT. Smith has been my player comp for TT for the last couple of years. I know Smith is white and Tyrod is black so that might be difficult for some people but it is true
  2. He certainly has but it is interesting to see the Patriots alter their mo. I completely buy that BB wanted to trade him and also that he was shot down. Any other player would have been sent packing 1 year to early like so many others. Wilfork and Seymour come to mind. I get why they didn't trade him and would agree as a fan that I didn't want to see him go it just isn't the patriot way if you will. One of the biggest reasons for Brady's success imo is his willingness to work out team friendly deals. I could see him sticking around and taking less and less money to allow the team to really be built up around him. There will be another young guy taken possibly even with the sf pick (my bet is it gets traded for a 2019 first) to groom behind Brady and take over after next year or the year after. That young guy would also have a low salary allowing the team to be good until he takes over again. Dammit I hate those bastards lol
  3. Great post. As I have said we will know in short order whether any of this is correct or not. If nothing else it is interesting discussion. I think Cousins is a polarizing player so I'm surprised the mention of him isn't generating more discussion.
  4. Here is a couple scenarios. Washington franchise tags cousins. They then allow him to seek a trade. Deion Branch and the patriots did something similar years ago. Bills and cousins agent work out a long term deal while the redskins and Bills work out a trade. Signing cousins outright if he were franchised is also possible and would cost 2 1st round picks.
  5. Just from the board. Always had great info especially around draft time which due to the lack of team success lately has become one of my favorite parts of being a Bills fan lol
  6. How about vindication from all of the pot shots in this thread? The repeated being called a fraud? As I said earlier if you think he is full of it no sweat. All of this will play out and we will know whether his info was good or not. No reason to rush to judgement on this. Enjoy the info, if it is wrong what harm was done? I enjoy getting inside info. Posts from Leroi and Nevergiveup are an awesome part of this board. Why are people in such a rush to push anyone with a source away? Which thread is better, this one or the one that says we are blowing this year by not tanking even though we currently sit in the 6th seed? There are many threads here. Those of you that don't think the info is legitimate post in those. Those of us that want to see if this is legit would prefer he not be chased away.
  7. To the bolded, that sentence means you can't contact another player or speak publicly about wanting to acquire said player. Teams set up trades all the time right before the league year begins and then execute them the 1st day of the league year. LeSean McCoy was traded to the Bills a full week before the start of the league year but it wasn't executed until the start of the league year. Kirk Cousins could be tagged by the Redskins to attempt a trade and then rescind the tag if a trade doesn't materialize as happened with Josh Norman just a couple of years ago. What are you even doing in this thread? Some of us enjoy these types of threads and the potential off season we are looking at. If he is full of it who cares? You could end up like a long time poster that trashed news about Lawson's shoulder only to be proved wrong. If you don't like the thread keep it moving. By nature sources and inside info can't be verified. If you don't like that fine but nobody cares that you think it is wrong and you certainly shouldn't be attacking the poster. Personally I like seeing inside info and don't want people chased away that provide it. In 4 months we can verify what the poster is saying and gauge how legitimate his info is/was. By the way I got a goof laugh at you trotting this info out about tampering when you have been banging the drum that Tyrod, while under contract, talked with a bunch of teams to gauge interest and came back because there was none but the Bills could never be talking with the Redskins. Or this gem The Skins got rid of their RB and two 1000 yard receivers in this past offseason. That just may be why the Skins did so poorly. No targets for Kirk. just an observation Very similar to what the Bills did with trading Sammy, letting Woods, Goodwin, and Gillislee walk perhaps? Cousins is a much better passer than Tyrod but it is interesting to watch the double talk from you on this topic.
  8. That's an interesting thought. That pick will still net a king's ransom. It is currently the 6th pick and Niners/Colts won't be going QB and possibly NYG. That would leave 6 as a spot teams could jump to and get the 3rd qb. 6th pick is worth less points by the old trade chart than the 2 #1s the Bills currently have. So trade would look something like this: Bills Give: 15 and 21 Bills Get: 6 and late 3rd/early 4th rounder. Bills made a deal with Dorsey last year too so hopefully they have that good working relationship!
  9. Hmmm I thought the revenue sharing number was used to set the salary cap?
  10. My understanding is that the salary cap is paid by the NFL to each team. There is a lot of revenue though that teams keep for themselves. I know sponsorships are one as Jerry Jones sued in the 90s. That's a good read for money that teams get to keep. So it would benefit Jones to have the Bills be more lucrative but he is also doing well on his own.
  11. Here is a better explanation for you klos since my last post was confusing. The Cap is determined through a complicated calculation system, which has changed with the latest extension of the CBA. The Cap is based on income that the teams earn during a League Year. Originally that "pot" was limited to what was known as Defined Gross Revenues (DGR), which consisted of the money earned from the national televison contract, ticket sales, and NFL merchandise sales. In 2006 the CBA was modified, and the "pot" was expanded to include total revenue. Thus, other sources of revenue, including such other items as naming rights and local advertising, were added. As was the case with the original DGR, the expanded revenue is divided equally amongst all 32 teams for purposes of calculating the salary cap. The newest edition of the CBA has a term, "All Revenues" (AR), which pretty much includes all revenue streams. The CBA spells ou the particulars over the course of about 10 pages, but in a nutshell the AR includes ticket sales, revenue from luxury box suites and premium seating, local and national broadcasting (TV/radio/Internet) royalties, concessions, parking, local advertising, stadium leasing, and merchadising. The AR is then divided into 3 distinct brackets: League Media (essentially revue from regular-season games), NFL Ventures/Post Season (self-explanatory) and Local (more or less revenue generated from preseason games). Now, fo r the part that you have been waiting for, the distibution of these revenues: Projected AR x CBA Percentage = Players Share of AR. This is called the Player Cost Amount. For 2011, that amount was $4,556,800,000 (roughly $142.4 M per team). Player Cost Amount minus Projected League wide Benefits = Amount Available for Player Salaries. For 2011, that amount was $3,852,000,000. Amount Available for Player Salaries / Number of Teams = Unadjusted Salary Cap per Team. For 2011, that amount was (3,852,000,000/32 =) $120.375 M.
  12. Bradford really appeared to turn a corner last year and played extremely well week 1. That said you can't rely on him to get through a full year as a starter. So maybe as a bridge to their drafted player but he's not the answer imo.
  13. The salary cap is "paid" to each team or at least that is my understanding. Player salaries are paid by league revenue. All other costs associated with a team (travel, coaching, up front siging bonus money, etc...) are the responsibility of the team.
  14. Joe is a lot of things but a kool aid sipper is not one of them . A Kool aid pisser maybe I hated the call and think it was a terrible decision. I can admit thought that it worked out and I do see his reasoning. I'm glad he had reasoning behind it instead of just "the numbers dictated it" nonsense. Hard to argue the result even if I didn't like the call.
  15. Verizon already has streaming for games. The stream is actually really good with no issues. The biggest issue I have with it is that it is about 30 seconds behind real time but it has a ticker on it that shows the up to date information. That disappears when it is full screen but it's obnoxious to say the least. I routinely watch SNF on there as I have cut the cord but don't have a NBC solution. I can stream it to my roku and have it play on my tv. I am only allowed games that are locally broadcast as another poster stated but this looks like it might be a little different.
  16. A thought occurred to me last night and well as a Lakers fan I love the idea of it. The Celtics are playing great this year and everyone is all over Stevens and Kyrie. All well and good but I see no way LeBron doesn't go ham in the playoffs to single handledly take them out. So this season will likely be all for naught. No way Lebron doesn't hold a grudge and a motivated LeBron is still by far the most dangerous player in the league. Somehow his jumper is better than ever and he is shooting 43% from 3 after being a career 34% shooter. That is going to help him age well but to my original point I don't see how the Celtics can take him and the Cavs out. I'm hoping for Cavs/Celts and Rockets/Warriors Conference finals. Both of those would be must see tv.
  17. I said it in another thread but the idea of family is great and all but seeing the "brothers" response to gronk yesterday wasn't how I would expect my family to react.
  18. What a kitty response. In case the filter gets me I called the response kitten like... Preach family but family reacts differently when one of there own is attacked. He's too talented to be in any real trouble with BB. Sure BB might not be happy especially since he got himself suspended but BB will trot him out there asap and feature him against Pittsburgh.
  19. I don't know that BB was apologizing for the hit. Perhaps he was apologizing for the enforcement where 2 pf against the pats equals 1 pf against the Bills (amendola was the instigator there too). Then the Bills were penalized and had to start 1st and 25. I won't give BB credit for something we aren't even sure he did. The whole situation sickens me. The refs handled it poorly, the Bills responded poorly, and Gronk gave the most half assed apology after attempting to seriously injure someone. I would imagine that situation was exactly the type of thing that is bringing the NFL down.
  20. You mean like Super Bowl 49 where he picked a fight after the game was in hand? If that type of play doesn't warrant a suspension could you let me know what WOULD in your mind? I'm not a jump to suspend guy but that play was egregious and WAY outside of the rules of football. He literally lines himself up to hit a defenseless player in the back of the head!
  21. Yeah I'm in agreement here. The Bills are in a really good spot for trading up with their ammunition. I understand it will be difficult but I think teams would like the idea of 2 2018 1st and a 2019 1st over a 2018, 19, and 20 1st if it does indeed take 3 of them to get it done. I wouldn't be on board with that much though if 2 or 3 qbs are already gone.
  22. We would have lost the SD game anyway?!?!?!?! I am so sick of this ridiculous EXCUSE for Peterman. Let me ask all of the experts that say we would have lost that game anyway. Did you have the Bills beating the Falcons in Atlanta? Did you have the Bills beating the Chiefs in Arrowhead? GTFO with this ridiculousness of we would have lost anyway. There is absolutely no way of knowing that and saying that is just excusing a ridiculous decision by the HC, a ridiculously bad performance by the starting qb, and the gift of 5 turnovers. Since when is a 3-6 team playing a 5-4 team a lock to win?!?!? Please stop the nonsense!!! /rant
  23. uggghhh that ridiculous missed tackle on 3rd and 3. My post was tongue in cheek though. You remind me of a poster that isn't here anymore unfortunately. I miss his posts although I guess I don't have to pay up on our bet about Wentz that I lost horribly.
  24. Thanks I was but I just assumed I made a mistake in my calculations I think you are stuck in comparing careers. Although they are closer than many (including myself) thought this is more about who they are as a qb now. Eli hasn't looked good for the last 2 years. He played great in 2015. Since then not so much.
