Murph + Tasker, new show "One Bills Live"
section122 replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
26 you get a new job at wgr? -
I'm not that young but I'll take it as a compliment. I'm a Lakers fan because of Showtime. Magic was my hero and 11 year old me cried when he retired because I thought he was dying. I'm also not all wrapped up in LeBron but he is incredible. Too many people are wrapped up in the "glory days." Jordan was a great player and the greatest shooting guard ever. Best player for me is too hard since each position requires such different things. I prefer to do greatest by position. Mine goes something like this: PG: Magic (did you expect anyone else ) SG: Jordan SF: LeBron PF: Center: I left the last 2 blank because there are so many options. For PF Duncan, Malone, Dirk has an argument, Bird if you call him a PF instead of SF, and I am sure there are more. Center is even more muddied. Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem, Bill Russell, among others is too hard to clarify. All that said and LeBron is, to me, a hybrid of Jordan and Magic. He has an incredible BBIQ and makes so many amazing passes or the correct play. He can also score at will a la Jordan. I used to question his killer instinct but his game 7 track record is pretty incredible. He is 6-2 and before the Boston game he averaged 34.9 ppg, 8 boards, and 4.5 assists. In that game 7 he went for 35, 9, and 5. Consistently dominant in the most important game. I get your point about 3 hours for a regular season game. Life has taken away a lot of opportunities to follow sports as much as i used to but I sacrificed baseball viewing lol. I watch pretty much every NFL game on, Laker games when available or big matchups, Yankees when there is nothing else on. I just can't follow them all as closely but the NBA will always hold a special spot. When engaged NBA players play the sport at an incredible level. That was so much fun last night watching Kevin Durant. He is my favorite player in the league mostly because he is so smooth and everything he does he makes look so easy. That performance is exactly why I still love the NBA. Your point though is why I don't follow the league as closely as I used to. Well that and the NBA is the easiest sport to fix and many many questionable things happen but that is a different conversation for a different day

Make 3 predictions for the 2018 Bills.
section122 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Josh Allen starts week 1 2. Bills Defense finishes top 10 overall 3. The offense finishes bottom 10 overall -
You hate the NBA so much You used Spree and Ewing as examples so this has been going on for a long time. It isn't new and it isn't going anywhere. 82 games is too long of a season. LeBron is tired BECAUSE of the effort he has put forth. I couldn't disagree more that he only tries if his team has a chance in the second half. He is almost punished for having been so good for so long in many fans eyes. He is still, at 33, the best player in the league bar none. I think we can cut him a break if he isn't the best player on the floor every night. He dragged this team to the finals and I'm sorry Celtic fans but that is partly because the East is still so terrible and partly because he is just that damn good. He has been to the Finals 8 straight times. That is incredible in this day and age. He has been in the spotlight since he was 16 and his only mis-step was the decision that raised 2 million dollars for charity. The Raptors didn't quit they suffer from plsd. Post LeBron Stress Disorder. The look on Derozan's face after game 1 told us all the series was over. Is LeBron really not supposed to get mad at JR Smith after an all time bonehead play where LeBron went off the entire game and has his chance at victory stolen from him by a team mate? LeBron is and has been playing at an incredible level for a loooonnnngggg time. He is in the discussion for the greatest player of all time. I wonder how many that wouldn't want him would have taken Jordan during his Wizard years. That was washed up Jordan. Next year teams are getting end of his prime LeBron.
-
I don't disagree however there are still many match ups where both teams get up for the game. Can you really fault the teams though? Why do the Warriors need to try every night? They know they will be playing in June and need to be rested and ready to do so.

Little late seeing this but congrats!!! I started at 225 and hit a wall at 210. Now I at about 201 and have hit another wall. The way my clothes fit has been an eye opener for how big I allowed myself to get. I wore a shirt to a job fair that used to be stretched over my gut and was almost too baggy. It's strange but even minus the almost 25 pounds I feel really big and gross lol. Congrats again and keep up the good work!!!

Y'all are crazy. I'd take LeBron in a heartbeat!

All NFL Contracts Should Be Performance Based ...
section122 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This irony of this post coming during work hours. This place is hopping during Monday - Friday 9a - 5p when most of us are working. During off hours this place is a ghost town. How many of us aren't allowed to post here during work hours? This whole topic is funny to me because the contracts are performance and incentive based. There are many incentives worked into current contracts and they are paid AFTER they accomplish something. The performance they are paid for already happened (see Dareus). Under the new CBA the hardest contract to get is the 2nd one. Players that have completed their rookie contract and are in line for a raise get squeezed by the rookies making peanuts. Further imagine playing DT and killing yourself, putting your body on the line every day, putting your future at risk, on a rookie deal. Kyle Williams made 468k and then 360k his first 2 years in the league. That second contract is the one that sets players up for life. I can very easily see the motivation to put yourself in harms way being greatly reduced once you sign a huge contract. Once that extra motivation is gone it isn't surprising to see players struggle imo. -
Football is obviously different than basketball but Steve Kerr runs the Warriors like this. He is the coach but also one voice among a sea of others. The players and assistant coaches are allowed to speak and offer up their ideas which are listened to. I know he caught grief for doing it but at one point had players running the huddle during timeouts. I thought it was unique but a great way to work with the younger generation. Well Beane and he got rid of Sammy and Darby when they still had value once it was determined that they weren't going to contribute to the team concept. I won't try to compare my select team coaching to professional athletes but I always preferred players that I knew would give it their all to players that were better but I might not get their best unless they feel like it (Dareus). Football by nature churns the bottom of the roster each year. That doesn't mean that players, during their tenure, can't feel or be valued. I think Marsh hit on the reason the Pats* are so successful while trying to bash them. "It wasn't fun there" I think BB thinks that football is work. Hard work and putting in that work every day is what separates the Pats*. To BB this is a job and hard work. That's how he runs his team and it is hard to argue his results. To Rex Ryan it is a game and his results are not unexpected. These guys talk about football being there job and the Pats* embrace that ideology. Not every team does. Someone like Marsh, a career backup, didn't shut up and do his job so it isn't surprising that he was cut.

Roseanne Show cancelled by ABC after racist tweet
section122 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting That's what she said. I don't see that as blaming Ambien. If I said I was drunk texting and am an idiot for doing so would your takeaway be that I was blaming alcohol? It read like she was giving context to her ridiculously poor decision making. I don't know honestly I don't really care enough to continue on discussing it. She was an idiot, paid the price for it, and now can fade back into obscurity. I more was commenting on how every company has to have a social media manager who likes to be edgy. This is one of those moments where I feel old as I just can't back social media. It brings out the worst in people especially twitter where they can hide behind an alias and throw pot shots at everyone. I am amazed though at how many people can stick their foot in their mouth in less than 140 characters. -
Roseanne Show cancelled by ABC after racist tweet
section122 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I really can't stand companies trying to be edgy and cool on twitter. Ambien shut up and keep your head down. It has so many crazy stories associated with it that they should shut up. Nobody was blaming ambien for her doing this. Their sales weren't going to be affected. Seriously google "crazy ambien stories" and it comes back with a ton of results. Anything from sleep walking, sleep driving, activities including sex with no memory, using weapons, etc. Anyone who has any experience heard she took ambien and didn't go to sleep and thought yeah I can see that happening. She's an idiot, has always been an idiot, and lost her tv show for being an idiot  -
Pooj I really couldn't disagree with this more. I think with all of LeBron's gifts his basketball IQ is the thing that I am always in awe of. Rarely does he make a bonehead play. I can remember a few times in his younger days when he would pass in the closing moments of the game because he had a wide open player. Critics (skip ) would say he was scared to take the shot but it was just the right bball play. This team needs him to be super man. He has to give it his all every game and dominate offensively because his supporting cast is terrible. Nance and Clarkson got the Laker hype bump but they were coming off the bench of a 36 win team. JR Smith can't ever be trusted, Korver is ancient, Tristan Thompson has motivation problems, Kevin Love well I don't really know what to say about him. Without LeBron they don't sniff the playoffs let alone make it to the NBA finals. My knock on LeBron is he inserts himself too much in the gm/coach role. Tristan Thompson and JR Smith's contracts are his fault. He holds that team hostage like no other player. When he left the first time the team was in shambles and when he leaves this time it will again be in shambles. Miami was in shambles when he left as well although the decline of Wade and unfortunate Bosh circumstance also played in that. With LeBron you get a hell of a player. Still at 33 able to dominate a single basketball like no other player I've ever seen (yes I saw Jordan - personal opinion). Any series that goes to game 7 is his. You also though get "LeGM" and "LeHC" he's a diva but still at 33 a player I would love to have on the Lakers.
-
Yeah I can't tell if it's great defense or just really bad basketball lol.

This thread for a Lakers fan is like a liberal wading into ppp. ?

When that adult child of yours just won't move out....
section122 replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I won't crush the parents because we don't have information on what is causing this. However there is an online movement that I would not be surprised this guy was a part of. It's called NEET and stands for not in employment, education, or training. Basically people who do what he is doing and that is freeloading off of parents or family members. It should be embarrassing but there group think has made it acceptable. Reddit has an entire community dedicated to it and a quick browse will show you the entitlement. Be honest too when you think of someone who lives in their parents basement and spends all day on the internet isn't this guys picture the one that comes to mind? -
Lakers fan and became one during the showtime era so I hate the Celts. Yankee fan so I hate the sox Obviously a Bills fan so I hate the patriots* I'll be rooting for LeBron. Off/on topic but I'm jilted when it comes to Chris paul. He should have been on the Lakers! Then he went to the clippers add in a few unsporting nut shots and ill also be rooting for the warriors in game 7.

I am able to button all of my 34 pants. I can't move in them yet but I can button them. I knew I held onto them for a reason! lol I haven't done any weight training. Really I hate working out. My wife built her diet plan with exercise so she gets more calories than me. I knew I wouldn't do it so I built mine without the exercise. 203.7 this week so I'm still making progress. I drink so much water to curb my "bored eating" and it really does help. Not snacking late at night has probably been 75% of how I have dropped the weight. I really miss bad food though lol.

I saw umphreys McGee on Thursday and it was a blast. Will make it to 3 or 4 more tbd shows before the year is out.

Oh thank god lol. Everyone is debating Laurel and Yanni and I hear Yam-me too! Wife hears Laurel. She though I was messing with her and got annoyed until I showed her the articles. We then proceeded to the blue/gold dress again and I see gold she see blue and black. Fun times, thanks internet for needlessly getting me in trouble with the missus. I don't need your help I do just fine on my own!!!

Awesome congrats! I just put the numbers in and my BMI at start of 225 was 33.2. I'm now down to 204.6 and my BMI is 30.2. I don't really care for it though as I would have to get to 165 for "normal". At 165 I look emaciated and like someone needs to feed me a burger lol. BMI is a standard but not one I really pay attention to. I'm pumped though. Officially down 20 pounds! 200 seems a lot more achievable now than it did at the start. I have become a bit obsessed though. I have begun eating sandwiches using lettuce as the bread which saves a ton of calories and is actually good. I eat a lot differently and stopped eating when I was bored but it really has been easier than I though to stay disciplined. I drink a ton more water to curb my hunger many times too. Hope all of you are enjoying success as well!

These are both things i texted my Celtics fan friend last night. Cavs still don't seem to care, get disinterested/aloof any time there is a hint of difficulty. I don't really see any way LeBron is wearing a Cavs jersey next season. JR was JR last night and the Celtics continue to play great team basketball. LeBron to Warriors this offseason and they go 82-0
-
Barring a complete blow up of the Cavs I don't see how LeBron returns next season. Lue is not a great coach and the team just looks so disinterested. They remind me so much of the Lakers in 03. Lakers were coming off the 3 peat and just never really engaged all year. I expected them to turn it on in the playoffs and they just didn't ever do it. Cavs team around LeBron looks like they just expect to win because LeBron is on the court. He had a rare off game and nobody could pick up the slack. JR Smith with 4 points? 36-18 after the first quarter? Marcus Morris had 21 and 10? Somehow I'm sure he still beats them because I still won't bet against him but I feel even stronger he is gone this off season now. Celtics are about to take over the East. Stevens is a great coach but I feel people used to give Ainge a lot of credit and are kind of over it. That's a great duo running things. Ainge is just as important as Stevens and has really stacked that roster. I do want to say though the east still sucks.

I understand Ben's pov. He's thinking about Ben Roethlisberger and what is best for him, the Steelers are thinking about the Steelers and what is best for them. That is it. Further you say they should have taken him earlier than they got him which is a strange argument. Why would they take him earlier? Every pick is need vs bpa for every team. When the players are closely ranked you take the need. When they aren't closely ranked you take bpa. Rudolph didn't hold the value in those picks that he did in the 3rd for the Steelers.
-
We get it 26. You don't like rudolph. We got it predraft. It is because you don't think Rudolph is any good that the pick wasn't worthwhile to you. The Steelers had him as a first round pick and took him in the third. Therefore in their mind they got great value and can possibly transition from big Ben to their next franchise qb. It is simply because you refuse to accept that Rudolph COULD be good that you can't accept that the pick may have been wise on the Steelers part. Kamara and Hunt are nice pieces and on their way to being superstars. Are they more important to their teams than Russel Wilson? Obviously the answer is no. If Rudolph hits the Steelers have the most difficult spot to fill done very cheap. If he washes out then it was a missed pick which happens all the time in the NFL. Are we also going to pretend like the Steelers didn't have an extra 3rd from trading Bryant away? They got okorafor to help their o-line. So they did add a 3rd round pick to help the team as well as grabbing their potential franchise qb.
