well played! That is easily one of the most annoying thought processes on this board to me.

(hypothetical) Alabama vs. Bills spread
section122 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems like a lot of people are forgetting the spread aspect of it and just going to heads up. In a football game weird bounces happen and when it gets to 3 or 4 scores it doesn't matter anymore. That said the 28.5 isn't even what Vegas thinks WILL happen they just think that is the number that would get bets on both sides. They have the Pats at 49.5 but would never install the Pats as a 21 point favorite over the Bills. The number isn't what they think will happen (as you know) but what they think the public will bet on happening. From this thread it looks like 28.5 is the right number to do that. I have 2 exceptions to your argument and I want to point out the first here. This thread came out when Peterman was starting and the Bills offense was historically bad. Now that they are just bad and Allen is leading the charge, your number doesn't change at all? This is my second exception. Players talk all the time about their welcome to the NFL moment where they got rocked, or they realized everyone was as fast or as big or as strong as they were. I know Bama has world class well everything but we are still talking about some 19 and 20 year olds competing against fully grown men. The 3 year rule is in place imo to protect the players because at 18,19, or 20 most (not all and Bama certainly has some that can) kids can't compete with the functional strength of grown ass men. Imo it would be a blow out for the Bills. Final score prediction? None Bills would win handily which I don't think anyone denies but I don't see the Bills caring whether that was by 21 or 40. -
First playoff season in 17 years has you unimpressed? I know he isn't perfect but jeez.... So according to various people on this board Tyrod gets no credit for the Bills playoffs last year and neither does McDermott. Who gets credit for last year's 9-7 record and playoff berth?

Rate the rookie QB after week 13
section122 replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't lol. Seriously though the last 2 games I have been very impressed with Allen. The best part of his game is that he just makes plays. It may be running but it could also be passing. The last play would have been dead before the throw for a majority of qbs in the league imo. He started slow yesterday but was lights out in the 4th quarter. I'm excited and hopeful we have our guy. In a personal anecdote that means nothing I watched the end of the game with my wife (not a big sports fan). When they lost she said she was surprised I wasn't mad. I told her that this year is all about finding out whether or not Allen can be a qb in this league. She said he is really good but the offensive line is terrible. So there you have it. Josh Allen will be a franchise qb because my wife is never wrong (at least that's what she tells me!). -

Thanks for this! I would be interested in seeing Josh's numbers after sitting as opposed to the start of the season to see if the eye test improvement I've seen is matched in the box score. -

Are you doing your qb rankings on the spreadsheet again this year? Are these yours or QBR? I would be interested to see what your sheet put out! -
Chuck Pagano? Dick Jauron? Jeff Fisher? Hue Jackson? I didn't try that hard Talk to any Packers fan and see what they think of McCarthy. They have been pining for his firing for a couple of years now. He routinely makes completely boneheaded decisions that cost his team. No thanks.

Ouch! I pay $1100 for 2 season tickets! That team last night was much more representative of the team i had seen at the games in the dome. I don't know what was up in nyc but they were completely disjointed. Elijah continues to impress and be my favorite player on the team. He, brissett, and battle make a formidable trio that can actually also hit foul shots. I stand by my assertion that this is a top 15 team once they gel.

A lot of you guys will get to see Cuse for the first time tonight. Here is what I've seen so far (I'm in my seats so some of what I've seen might not match stats - just one guy sitting at the dome) Brissett is an animal this year. He is the go to player for the team. He is much more aggressive this year and it is nice to see. I thought coming into the year it would be Battle's team but it is clearly Brissett's. Tyus Battle looks like he is still trying to find his place. First half of last game he was nowhere to be found. Second half it looked like he started finding himself andexploded. Jalen Carey is really frustrating to watch. He makes freshman mistakes but then looks aloof. Him "learning" from Franklin is a scary idea. I couldn't believe Boeheim let him stay in after some of his bonehead plays that were frustrating on their own being followed with not hustling back. Elijah Hughes is already my favorite player on the team. He "isn't afraid of the moment" and has looked like he belongs. He is a highlight reel and it looks like the team feeds off of his energy. We've already got some timely charges, chase down blocks, and all around exciting play. For some reason I keep calling him Elijah Strong even though I know it isn't his name lol. Dolezaj is Doleazaj. Cuse fans love their scrappy white guy. Chukwu is still Chukwu and can frustrate with his hands and then pull a monster rebound/putback. Sidibe is back and I honestly forgot about him but the ability for them to spell each other is huge. The depth along the front line is something that will greatly benefit the team come February/March. The depth on this team in general is the best it has been in a long while. I didn't even mention Buddy or Franklin. Brissett and Battle returning make this team one that will be in the top 15 if not top 10 all year and that is without seeing what Frank brings to the team this year. They won't beat Duke imo but they will compete with every other team on the schedule this year. Should be an exciting year!

Matt Barkley (asking for a friend)
section122 replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I immediately thought of Warner after your original post but now that you've clarified I did some more thinking. Warner did have his stint with the Giants where he was proclaimed washed up. Rich Gannon would work here. He played for 3 teams before ending up with the Raiders and having his MVP type season. Maybe Doug Flutie? NFL flunkie before starring for the Bills for a couple of seasons. It is certainly rare. Can anyone think of other examples? All of these go back to the 90s so not exactly relevant to Matt Barkley. Interesting point I initially disagreed with before thinking harder about it. -
Deadspin: Someone Left A Poo At The Bills Game

I quit watching yesterday early for the first time since that SF game where they went 300/300 against us. They aren't trying to win this year and I understand it but that doesn't help me enjoy watching that nonsense for 3.5 hours on a weekend. I found myself wishing they would switch to the patriots game because at least that was entertaining. I found myself wondering if they aren't trying to win why am I watching hoping they will win? MNF should be a big deal and I know I will watch because I always watch MNF but I wish it were different teams. A long time ago @BADOLBILZ talked about apathy from fans being the worst thing for a sports team to recover from and I think apathetic is a great word for how I feel right now. I used to live for Sundays and Bills games. Now it just doesn't matter... sad state of affairs right now hopefully they work hard this off season to address the assortment of issues (many self created) to be at least competitive again.

On the flip side Dabo kind of hurt his team a little to free up Kelly. He benched him which I'm sure hurts but he did it in a way that allows him to continue on and maintain some eligibility. So long run he helped him out but I get Kelly being hurt by the decision.

Pats cut TD Mike Gillislee per CBS Sports
section122 replied to Cripple Creek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stand by my original prediction of the td mike signing was a bluff by bb trying to force the Bills to match a bad contract. The Bills called their bluff and got an extra 5th out of the deal. -
I have sat in the VIP areas a coupe of times and was there for the national MS society. I talked with the staff there on both occasions and the VIP sections are regularly used/utilized by groups that are non-profit or work with people with disabilities. It isn't (wasn't) common that they were just private groups. The best part was being shaded and being able to see both fields. The VIP parking was nice as it allowed me to only have to transfer my mom once instead of multiple times and on/off the bus. Just a little different perspective on them. Not saying it is always the case but again there may be more than meets the eye there.

For me a game day experience is 2 parts. A giant party before the game then the actual game itself. Tailgating is one of the main draws for going to the game. Drinking, grilling, playing kan jam at 9 am on a Sunday? Awesome. Take away tailgating? I'm not going to drive 2.5 hours each way for a 3 hour football game. Combine the 2 and that is what I travel for! Chalk me up as another that has never actually seen a table smash. It isn't nearly as prevalent as it is made out to be.

Bills trade with Browns for Corey Coleman
section122 replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The same device you used to post this could be used to gather this information.... He's had some injury issues. If he can stay healthy, and it's a big if, thos would be a great addition for the Bills. Wheres @Kirby Jackson? Hes been advocating for this move all off season! Great call! -
Bills' 2018 Training Camp Day 2

Yeah I agree. I don't know how he felt pre-draft but just the 2 tweets 26 has put up has me guessing he thought bust. -
New Helmet Rule & Changes to Kickoffs Adopted

I have no history of concussions either but I can think of at least 2 times where I have gotten my bell rung and one of them knocked me out cold. I was never diagnosed with concussions but I'm pretty sure I've had a few. Personally I don't think it matters that it is CTE or anything else. These players quality of life is much poorer than after playing other sports. It is a violent game that will never be totally safe but that doesn't mean strides can't be taken each year to try and make it safer. It only makes sense to allow the game to continue to grow and be accepted. I'm a hypocrite though I love highlight hits lol. You got jacked up was one of my favorite segments for football highlights. -
I was too young for Lamonica but Pat Williams was dumb all around. He wanted to stay in Buffalo, was a great player, and went on to have so many more productive seasons. His leaving the team coincided with the drought lasting as long as it did imo. Looking up stats the Bills finished 04 as the second best defense, 7th in rush d, and went 9-7. In 05 they fell to 29th, 31st in rush d, and finished 5-11. Probably the dumbest mistake Donahoe made including the trade for Losman and drafting of Willis.

Last night was an interesting one... Went to Canalside and watched Big Something. First the venue is beautiful, more family friendly than I expected, and a great atmosphere. I actually got to meet the band after the show which was really cool. Love listening to these guys. Umphrey's McGee came out after and we watched them play almost an entire set then we set out for Rochester's party in the park. Made it there about 8:40 in time to catch Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. They put on a fantastic show. Atmosphere there was incredible. 2 venues, an hour apart, 3 bands, what a great night of music!

Yeah Kenny Wayne Shepard was a welcome surprise. I would drive 2 hours to only pay $5 to see Beth Hart lol. Her voice just hits a chord with me. Sister Heroine, I'll Leave the Light On, and Am I the One, and almost anything with her and Joe Bonamassa are those music experiences that I don't know how to describe. Raw. I can't wait! It's funny @Metal Man I'm about 20 minutes from Lakeview Amphitheater and I'm headed to Buffalo twice to see some shows at Canalside lol. It (Lakeview) is a great venue but if anyone goes pay the extra few dollars for VIP parking. You get your own exit and none of the ridiculous (and it is ridiculous there) traffic after the show. It's $10 for regular parking and $25-$30 for VIP. From experience spend the few dollars! Now I need the same kind of tips for Canalside lol. This will be my first venture out there. Does the music start right at 5 and end promptly at 10? How is parking close by? How is leaving after the show? Any help would be much appreciated! edit: Just saw that you are Liverpool lol I'm not telling you nothing you don't know

I don't know that I've ever seen Gov't Mule be bad lol. Youtube Gov't Mule Soulshine and enjoy one of any of the links!

Can't wait to see Beth Hart. I routinely check her tour schedule and Joe Bonamassa's to see if they are ever going to be anywhere together or close by to possibly see them together but I saw him last summer and will settle for her this summer. Are you going to Palace Theater? I'm gonna make the trip to Buffalo and see the show for $5 lol
