To your point here.... 3rd and long. It's where I personally noticed the biggest change for myself. The other night it was 3rd and 13 and Josh threw a 32 yard pass to Ty Johnson and of course he did because that's what he does. It is such a great yet still strange feeling. To your coaching point, I also watch games thinking oh man McD would get killed on tbd for that call or series of outcome. Giants scored 3 tds yesterday, gave up none and still lost. Bengals had the Chiefs 4th and 16 and gave up the conversion on a penalty. Ben Johnson and his amazing offensive mind scored 16 at home yesterday in a loss to the Bucs. Ravens lost at home to Gardner Minshew. The "terrible" Cardinals team destroyed the Rams and MHJ went off and going 1 catch for 4 yards against the Bills. The Saints scored on every drive and put up 44 against the Cowboys who were at home! On a different note, some fun stats from the NFL through 2 weeks: Bills have gone an NFL record 43 games without losing by more than 6 points. 6 teams did that this week. Derek Carr and Baker Mayfield have the most passing TDs at 5, next up is Sam Darnold and Kyler Murray with 4. Carr and Mayfield are also 1/2 in QB rating. Top 4 qbs in completion % are Minshew, Carr, Jayden Daniels, and Geno Smith! Ja'Marcus Ingram is tied for the NFL lead in INTS. There are 32 PLAYERS who have more tds than the Broncos, Bears, and Panthers TEAMS

Yeah between that, poyer giving up the cook 49 yard td run, and hyde sitting on the couch those secondary losses aren't looking to bad right now

I don't like to bet game outcomes I prefer prop bets. My favorite is deebo samuel over 23.5 rushing yards. If you want to build a parlay I went for jordan Mason over 74.5 yards rushing too. If you're a degenerate you can add any time td scorer for both like I did lol
-
This thought also occure to me when I posted elsewhere about poyer moving down to lb last year in obvious passing situations. I think a 4-1-6 with 3 safeties could be very effective with someone like Rapp.

They scored 24 points in the first half. The dolphins ran the clock out on themselves at half time bc they were so concerned with giving the ball back to the bills. Then after half the pick 6 ended the game and they ran clock. They were pretty impressive in the 1st half when they had to be. It's weird to penalize them for the cook score not being a sustained drive. They went td, punt, fg, td, td. They scored tds on 60% of their drives and scored on 80% of drives. That's impressive.

That is kind of a funny line. If they hadn't put up 34 and 31 points lol. I don't regret anything in life as I have a good one but I do sometimes wish I had followed my dream of being a sportscaster. I could run my mouth all day and it doesn't matter if I'm wrong or right!

I don't totally disagree but I think the "Bills can only win when Josh Allen goes crazy and does it all" took a huge hit last night. He played well and I'm not knocking him but that win came from the defense and run game I absolutely agree with your 2nd point. I thought it was clear when they had to move Poyer into the box on 3rd downs and make him a lb that he was clearly on the downslope. Seeing Cook beat him as he took a bad angle was a weird familiar feeling that was nice to be on the other side of lol.

In a year with a lot of turnover and a lot of new names these things stood out to me as there was a lot of negativity and consternation headed into this year. Here are some interesting stats through 2 weeks for the Bills. I'm interested to see what other things can people find. Narrative: Josh has to do it all himself Through 2 games, Josh Allen has 42 pass attempts. There were 5 games last year where he had 40+ pass attempts. Through 2 games, Josh has 41 yards rushing on 11 attempts. He had more rushing yards in 4 of the last 4 games individually as well as more attempts in 3 of the last 4 games. Narrative: The o-line was great last year, they shouldn't have messed with a good thing and moved a guy who hasn't played C since HS to such an important position Through 2 games, Josh has been sacked 2 times. He had 7 games last year where he was sacked at least twice. Through 2 games, Josh has a 124.2 qb rating. He only reached that number twice last year. Narrative: "everyone eats" is just because they don't have any good WRs not because they want to spread the ball around. Through 2 games, The Bills do not have a 100 yard receiver. Total not in either game. Shakir is the leading receiver and has 96 yards through 2 games. Next is Keon Coleman at 51 yards. Narrative: The loss of Poyer, Hyde, and Tre White will cause major problems for the pass defense. Through 2 games, The 3 leading tacklers on the team are Dorian Williams, Cam Lewis, and Damar Hamlin. Through 2 games, Ja'Marcus Ingram is leading the team in both interceptions and passes defensed. Through 2 games, the Bills are giving up 179 yards passing per game.

Bills Coordinators Need To Be Much Better
section122 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hard to complain tonight. Babich held the dolphins o to 10 points and did it without 3 of the best defensive players on the team available to him. Brady played the line of scrimmage advantage very well. James cook had the best game of his career and the offense spent the whole 2nd half chewing clock. Very reminiscent of the cowboys game last year. -
Daniel Jones leaving the stadium to intense heckling
section122 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Before I dive into why I disagree strongly with this post, I think the heckling is very mild. I expected much worse based on the title. To your point though, as someone who worked in a similar setting as you for even less money, where is the demarcation line of it now is okay to treat someone poorly because they have x amount of dollars. It isn't and it doesn't magically make it okay at 100k or 1 million or 40 million. I would imagine your correction officer, military, and police friends have many days where no amount of money makes up for what they have to go through. My first realization after leaving the place I worked at was how much abuse I was taking and how I had normalized it. It's not normal and it's okay to call this behavior out for what it is, juvenile, idiotic, and dumb. Boo him on the field but when he isn't wearing the jersey it's ridiculous to hassle him imo. -
I missed him way down there thanks for the catch! 8 catches for 39 yards is something lol I'm gonna have to dig up those "highlights"
-
So far 2nd in catches and 1st in yards. That's a good start to his campaign!
-
Yeah I would imagine this is the real catalyst to the changing of the depth chart. As Davis improves/proves his worth I think he will see more snaps.
-
It was a very weird TE week league wide: Only 3 TEs had more than 4 catches this week: Likely, Bowers, McBride Only 2 TEs had more than 50 yards: Likely and Bowers Only 5 TEs scored TDS this week: Pitts, Likely, Moreau, Okonkwo, Juwan Johnson Some stud TE numbers: Kelce 3 for 34 LaPorta 4 for 45 Engram 1 for 5 Definitely would play the wait and see as you say I meant taking over for Ty Johnson as #2 which is why I compared the 2 of them. Cook is very safe as the #1 back lol
-
Couple of interesting things I saw: For all the complaining about McD's D-line rotation, Oliver (81.97), Rousseau (78.69), and D Jones (73.77) all played more than 70% of snaps. Ray Davis was only in for 6 snaps but got 3 rushes and a catch on those snaps. Conversely Ty Johnson got 14 snaps, 2 rushes, and 1 target. How long until Davis takes over?

The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
section122 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I tried not to have a favorite wr predraft bc there were so many choices there was a small chance my guy got picked. Unfortunately I landed on Worthy as my guy. He is not just a speed guy and outperformed AD Mitchell last year. That said it's annoying the the narrative is the Bills "let the Chiefs get him" He was pick 27. There were many other teams that could have taken him if they wanted him. -
Joe Marino: 1/4 of Bills 2024 salary cap is dead cap!
section122 replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd be surprised if knox wasn't back I just don't think it'll be at 14 per. He and Josh are boys so I could see a pay cut to stick around. 14 for the #2 te is just too steep to stick imo. -
Joe Marino: 1/4 of Bills 2024 salary cap is dead cap!
section122 replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
For sure Milano and Von account for 40 million have to imagine those numbers change. Knox is 14 and I don't think he sees that either. Finally next year is allegedly the Josh renegotiation year. I doubt he goes in with a 60 million cap hit. -
Mason Crosby had by far his worst year with bojo holding as well. Maybe he has since figured it out but it was a known weakness. Also it was a knock on Araiza coming out as he didnt have experience with it.

Bobby Babich to call Bills' Defense
section122 replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
You do realize the "why your team sucks" are written as tongue in cheek criticism of each team right? They are written from the standpoint of being the most negative you can be. -
I wonder how different this thread would be if the carolina qb didn't short arm the throw when Hardy blew the coverage. Should have been a long td but the throw was poor. I was also surprised by the cut however if he is truly injured I expect fully he will be re-signed. I also expect/think a couple of guys (maybe toohill and morrow) are cut for a couple of claims.

I thought bothroyd popped a couple of times this preseason. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the ps.

Joe Buscaglia's Projected 53 man roster as of today
section122 replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get that logic I just don't like it lol. If Collins is playing you're screwed anyway so I'd rather they go with the youth and take the chance. If the vet you speak of becomes available you can still make that move. -
Joe Buscaglia's Projected 53 man roster as of today
section122 replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't really think Collins having experience matters when he is so limited and frankly not good anymore. I spent some time thinking about the 53 recently and it was harder yet more fun than I expected. Here are some differences I see: I would keep Davidson and in turn release Gilliam. I know it isn't likely but Gilliam is such a limited contributor offensively I think Davidson can be the 3rd TE and have Morris fill the H-Back/ST Ace role. More realistically, I would be okay with cutting Collins and keeping Davidson. I had Hamler over Shavers. I know Shavers has had a great camp but here is my thought process on this - Hamler can play but usually gets hurt. I would keep Hamler until the inevitable and then promote Shavers from the PS. I think Edwards gets cut but is immediately resigned once someone (Bishop maybe) goes to IR. With Bishop being injured I find it difficult to think they will keep effectively 3 safeties for week 1. -
My very special training camp report (7/29)
section122 replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
What kind of stuff did they have for the kids. I'm trying to get them to camp and work on making them bills fans but if I'm going to bore them for 2 hours it'll have the opposite effect lol.
