Hines Ward calls out the league
section122 replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First I think anyone who is a fan of this team would take those dirty players if it came along with the two super bowls they won Secondly I wasn't talking about whether or not harrison should have been fined simply that fighting is much worse for the game than that hit Thirdly the size difference btwn finnegan and johnson is nothing to sneeze at although I recognize finnegan is noted for being dirty the punishments hardly match up imo. Finally do you really think that johnson would not have been suspended if it wasn't right before a huge nfl network game that probably becomes a laugher if he doesn't play? Or if this game had no playoff implication? Imo he would have been... would this behavior have been tolerated from a bills lions browns panthers etc player? Favorite new tag line and it fits.... come on man! -
Hines Ward calls out the league
section122 replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he makes valid points. Andre johnson got fined 25k for throwing three haymakers while harrison got fined 25k for what last year (or even earlier this year) would have been a legal hit. The nfl is very hypocritical and kudos to ward for saying such. -
Did you know Cam Newton was ineligible

I have to say I don't blame any college athlete that takes money. The rules and guidelines for employment and money making opportunities are extremely limited for the athletes that make millions for the schools and ncaa. I have no problem with a player "getting his" when given the opportunity, as you never know when the gravy train will end. Btw I understand they are given a full ride worth upwards of 40k a year however education is not neccesarily the top priority for a majority of these athletes that get paid. Biding their time until they can turn pro is. -
Is there a worse TV Analyst than ...

Steve Johnson Should Not Blame God
section122 replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He clearly says thanks tho at the end of the tweet... not to compare the two because they're not even close... jesus questions god while on the cross. And come on no one in their living room said any variation of "oh my god! Why!" I know I did and one of my friends responded cause your a bills fan that's why! -
Concur williams was unblockable and I think they felt bad calling repeated holding on him. That said the o line for the steelers is not very good and unless they figure it out I think were going to see them slip a little. Secondary calls are always hit or miss and don't make me as mad but throughout the game their line was holding on what seemed like every play!

Preparing to get called a homer that knows nothing about football on this one but... This offense is exciting for the first time in a long time, the head coach has a pulse and seems to be adept at building effective gameplans, fitz has taken control of this team (whether you believe in his skills you can't question his leadership), and the d has improved since the switch back to a 43 (kelsay most noticeably - terrible lb better de)

I am going to say it....Bills don't need a QB
section122 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So after reading this entire thread I am left with a few questions I wouldn't mind some answers to 1. Who besides luck fits your guys description of a franchise qb? Mallet? Ponder? Locker? 2. With what pick would you be willing to take said franchise qb with? Top 5? top 10? 3. Who do you feel is better than fitz or will be better than fitz? 4. Will we realistically have a chance to draft this qb with what is looking to be a pick in the 4-10 range? -
I was talking with coworkers about this topic yesterday and I explained my feelings as this. From the time I wake up on Sunday until the game is over I am convinced the bills will win and root for that to happen. If they lose the sting is not there as I remember it just helps their draft position and I feel that way all week until I wake up Sunday morning. I never ever root in game for them to lose I just don't mind as much this year when they do when its all said and done. In previous years back to back ot losses would have crushed me (the kc one still did) but not so much this year. I don't believe chan and buddy are tanking on purpose but I do believe they are evaluating talent this year and not worrying about wins and losses. Seeing who has passion, desire, work ethic, and talent to go forward on this team in order to build a long term winner!

This to me is what makes the talk of the bills moving unrealistic to me... we've been terrible for 11 years and still sell out regularly. The chargers routinely challenge for their division title and can't sell out. The jags tarp seats to ensure sell outs. The bills are not in terrible or even bad economic standing. Yes the city may leave something to be desired but the fans don't and ultimately no owner new or otherwise would move this team

Do you honestly think ryan fitzpatrick will try to lose on purpose so that the billls can draft a qb? Or any player that could be out of a job next year because they're aren't trying to win? Players get paid to win (or try to for that matter) not to worry about draft position!

What were the Bills thinking?
section122 replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was upset that the bills called t.o. it does nothing but benefit the offense so they can get in exactly the right play and takes the pressure of the play clock out of the equation. Also seriously who didn't think the ball was going to calvin johnson?! -
So astro you mentioned jj watt took a big jump... where is he projected now the few games I've seen him he dominated the line of scrimmage no matter where he lines up also does he project as a 34 end or 43 tackle better? this is one of the players ill be watching throughout the draft process so any info would be appreciated

4 at ESPN pick the Bills to win!
section122 replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tried to find the stat but couldn't.... teams records in their third consecutive road game (I don't count this as a home game cause its not) is very bad. That coupled with the bears coming off of their bye concerns me. But f+ck it let's go bills! -
Ummm isnt this the thinking that got the bills f.o. in trouble for not drafting orakpo because they hated UT players. Each player is a separate entity and should be treated as such. Do you get judged on your work performance because someone who went to the same college as you did a good or bad job? ummm does it have to be racist or could it be that he was thinking that cam newton would be a bust?

I think this year maybe bpa available again. Reaching for needs is what got us into this mess whether it was a rb to replace mcgahee or a cb to replace clements. I think if fitz keeps performing qb could be addressed in the second rnd w a ponder type pick... if he's the best bpa

Reality check about yesterdays game...
section122 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+1 No mention ever by the announcing team about the poss of his elbow being in! How many cameras are in an nfl stadium there had to be a view more definitive than what we got when they kept showing him stepping on the wr shin -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
section122 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spiller hasn't made the field as much as some would like for a variety of factors 1) he still is a liability in pass protection which most rookie rbs do so its tough to have him in when the d knows it means run 2) he still needs to learn this is the nfl w athletes everywhere the highlight bouncing to the outside and run by everyone doesn't work in the pros... he does need to learn to cut upfield sometimes and take the extra few yards 3) fred jackson is a beast! Anyone want to try to discredit that? Although rb is a position where players can come in and contribute right away not all do. We have a good rb in front of him and no super bowl expectation so why rush him? -
With the first pick in the 2011 draft the Bills select....
section122 replied to DC Grid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know where he's rated as a prospect but every time I watch wisconsin jj watt on the dline is the best player on the field... does anyone know where he is expected to go? -
2 things... first I agree it seems he's gearing this team up for sale and that's why there are not going to be big contracts handed out which is general operating procedure when selling a sports team (thinks no hornets talking about trading cp3). Secondly isn't he trying to protect his family from the inheritance tax? Seems to me he is lowering the value of this franchise more than the cost of the tax (finance experts little help please) would be. For all of the people thanking him for keeping the bills in buffalo for so long couldn't he set up a sale that would execute upon his death to a group that would keep the bills here (jim kellys group perhaps). He is a bussiness man making money and we are the fans suffering because of it which is why... Hitting him in the wallet is the only way to incite change! Don't give me the they might move argument either floating that idea forced people to pay for an inferior product just to keep it around jax and oak are way more likely candidates to move. When they tarp seats at the ralph then we can worry.

Spread offenses also are more succesful in college because it relies more on having better athletes than your competition. The field is spread which gives your athletes more room to maneuver. It doesn't translate to the pros because everyone (even the bills) have athletes everywhere. That's the simplest description I can give hope it helped.

Why all the hate for cuse fans? I am nowhere near a bandwagon fan and neither are any of my friends! You used to see me on the thruway but I'm sorry I can't afford 400 for my tix and 20 each trip in tolls 35 in gas and however much for beer and food. On a flip side though the dome and not the rodgers center is where the home away from home games should have been played imo. Simply bc there is no geographic allegiance here it could be nyg nyj pitt phi or buff and the bills are not doing what they need to create fans. To finish if the bills won bandwagoners would come from everywhere not just cuse....
