If LB Devin Lloyd is available at Pick 25......
section122 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds both good enough to fetch a mid 2nd round pick according to the board and bad enough to be easily replaced by a rookie. Both good enough to be the captain of the #1 defense and also bad at getting the defense aligned and picking the right gaps. Both good enough to be one the field almost every snap for the #1 defense and bad enough that he should be traded after the bills pushed all their chips to the middle this year. Hmmmmm. -
With the 70th pick the jags select ol jamaree salyer uga. Versatile olineman which is perfect for the jags. Projects inside which is exactly where the jags have an opening. If he shows well perhaps cam robinson can walk next year. 2 edge players, safety, and protection for lawrence not a bad 1st 3 rounds for the jags. The bears and @Philo are up Sorry got busy with the kids finally got a chance to sit down.

Aww biscuits I thought for sure being a small school guy I was safe to wait on him!

with the 65th pick the Jacksonville Jaguars select Jaquan Brisker S Penn St. Would have been Pitre but we are happy to fill a safety spot with a decorated player who was a little banged up causing his draft stock to slip. Again I ignored the offensive line but guards can be had later. The last time the Jaguars had success it was built on the back of an amazing defense. This is another step in the direction of rebuilding the defense. The Lions and @NewEra are on the clock.

With the 33rd pick the jacksonville jaguars select david ojabo edge michigan. I know its doubling up on the position. I know its probably not popular but... I think taking Hutchinson allows them to gamble AND wait. The jags had success with myles jack who dropped and I think the value is excellent here. A top 15 talent who can redshirt. Does anyonw really think the jags are sb contenders no matter who the pick is? The and Lions @NewEra are on the clock
-
If he didn't go here he was going to the jaguars in a few picks.

I think Jawaan Taylor and Walker Little are better options at RT than Chaisson is to start opposite Allen. I think the bigger need is DE unless Cam Robinson leaves after this year. I know they are more than 1 player away so they may think more long term but even with that Walker Little could potentially slide into the LT spot. I think the Lions are really hoping it isn't Hutch though. He just seems to fit Dan Campbell's style better than a Thibodeaux who deserved or not has some motivation questions. I don't think they go qb as Goff played quite well when Campbell took play calling duties away from Anthony Lynn. Not the answer at qb but good enough to hold off until there are better prospects. All as always just imo
-
Yeah I saw those and I think the Lions are hoping that happens so they can get their hometown boy. I think it is DE for sure though. Cam Robinson was franchised and putting the #1 pick at RT or even worse kicking in to G would be a terrible move imo. The pairing of Allen and another force to collapse the pocket is the best way to immediately improve the team.
-
oops sorry about not adding that in!

With the 1st pick the Jacksonville Jaguars select Aidan Hutchinson from the university of Michigan. I don't think its o-line here. I think someone opposite from Josh Allen to create havoc for opposing qbs is the best way to improve this team. The Lions and @NewEra are on the clock

Was Allen the top prospect on the Bills board?
section122 replied to SoMAn's topic in The Stadium Wall
IIRC they hadn't had Lamar in for a visit yet. Another conflicting report was that they were over the Tyrod experiment and Lamar reminded them too much of him to be their choice. No idea which is true though Not at all. Leaks since have stated that the Saints would have drafted him at their pick and were heartbroken he got taken at 10. He might be better than he has been but there was a story from I believe Jordan Palmer where he said Darnold would work on things until he got it right and Allen would work on it until he had perfected it. -
AZ cuts Jordan Phillips - now signed by Bills

Self proclaimed president of the Jordan Phillips fan club. I've been waiting since he signed in arizona. Love his energy and I think the energy he brings to the field is a plus. -
No criminal charges for Deshaun Watson; civil deposition 3/15
section122 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He will be on the Panthers by the start of the new league year. Maybe the hiring of Flores pay immediate dividends for the Steelers? Giants and Lions as complete longshots. Colts are out as they are in the division. QB spots aren't as plentiful as they were just a week ago. edit forgot about the Seahawks. Imagine going from squeaky clean Russ to Deshaun lol -
Old Belichick move to scout the highly touted qb prospects. He would pick their brain and then use that information against them going forward.
-
Jameson Williams, Wide Receiver, Alabama (COM) I know he had the injury and I know WR isn't the absolute biggest need for the Bills but I would love if Williams gets his name called by the Bills on draft day!
-
Do you have any data to back that up or just shooting from the hip? I don't know that I agree or disagree with this assessment but I don't think paying a known commodity 3 million a year is going to be problematic regardless. The last 2 super bowl winners were a qb away. They had really good teams that needed improvement at the most important position in sports. Their situation doesn't at all mirror where the Bills are. The Chiefs with Mahomes had plenty of homegrown guys including the main 3 on offense in Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. I also think just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean the Bills aren't trying. They were in on JJ Watt, they had reported interest in Ertz and Fournette. Currently there are rumors they want to trade for CMC. They did trade for Diggs. They have been in on big names but haven't hamstrung themselves to bring them in. That is a good thing.
-
They let Shaq Lawson walk because he wanted too much money. Same with Jordan Phillips. They re-signed Milano, Levi Wallace, and Taron Johnson who all played important roles on the defense (coached up). It seems like they are doing exactly what you are asking them to do. We have that mix. Diggs and Beasley were acquisitions from outside the team. Daryl Williams as well.

Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
section122 replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
He only had 2 winning seasons and the team got blown out both years when they had a chance to make the playoffs. Week 16 to the titans this year and week 17 to the bills the year before. Neither game was even close. -

Marty schottenheimer was let go after 3 straight, going 14-2, and winning the division 2 out of 3 years. Flores didn't make the playoffs either year he had a winning record. -
How many chances does McDermott have left?
section122 replied to Igotbills's topic in The Stadium Wall
The patriots have completely warped people's sense of reality when it comes to winning a super bowl. Who are the best coaches in the NFL right now today? Bill Belichick - 6 super bowls head coach for 26 years Andy Reid - 1 super bowl, head coach for 23 seasons Sean Payton - 1 super bowl hc for 15 years Mike Tomlin - 1 super bowl hc for 14 years John Harbaugh - 1 super bowl hc for 14 years Pete Carroll - 1 super bowl hc for 16 years Bruce Arians - 1 super bowl hc for 9 years (Brady) The only other active coach to win a super bowl is Mike McCarthy and I don't think anyone thinks of him as a top coach. No other active coach has a super bowl. Not McVay, not LaFLeur, not Shanahan, not any of these other guys thought of as the best coaches in the league. Having a competitive team with a chance to win it all every year is the goal. The Bills have that with McD. Yes we are all hurting today but come on, he is already what the 2nd or 3rd best coach the Bills have ever had? Firing him would be one of the dumbest mistakes the Bills have ever made. -
If the Bills re-sign Edmunds, they're stupid.

Yeah sorry was a bit fired up lol. Boogie is older than him as well as stevenson and hamlin. -

I hate this thread. Do people really think any player on the #1 ranked defense isn't good? If he was bad then opposing teams would go at him constantly and be successful doing it. If that was the case teams would be racking up points and yards. Neither of which is happening. Edmunds is the 6th youngest player on the team! There are rookies on this team younger than him! Eve of the divisional playoffs and this thread exists.... Don't let perfect be the enemy of very good. -
Great job as always @Virgil here are a couple extra: Dumb point but here is as good a place as any, I feel like the Chicken Broth is not getting enough love. What an absolutely brilliant idea. As soon as it was mentioned I thought about it. Warm beverage with sodium to assist hydration, and who doesn't love chicken broth? It really spoke to me about the absolute level of preparation this team had for the night. This game was a dream come true. There wasn't even time to get nervous. After the first td drive, Hyde made one of the best int's I have ever seen (no hyperbole), the Bills marched right back down the field and made it 14-0. Then it snowballed from there. No wondering or worrying about the patriots doing patriot things. Those days are over. Josh's run on that first drive I think helped a ton. He has stated previously he likes to get hit to get in the flow of the game. With this run, he got his blood pumping, what better way to get warm than run for 25+ yards? I loved that at the end of the game all of the talk immediately became that none of it mattered anymore and it was on to next week. They are locked in. Jerry Hughes was angry still at the end of the game and in the press conference. We go play football, you talk about it was the quote I believe. They have payback to give this week and everyone is counting them out again. Time to get payback for last year's AFCCG!
