  1. Any info on years/money? I apologize if it's the subtitle that doesn't show on my phone.
  2. Of course it will never happen but I thought it was an interesting idea. However to question what fans would continue to follow a perennial serie B team is ignoring all of the fans who currently do this. When was the last time the Bills, Browns, Jags, Fins, had a chance at the super bowl? A realistic legitimate shot. The Bills haven't made the playoffs in 12 years and still continue to sell out games (early ones but still). Fans follow crappy teams in all sports. I don't think any KC Royals or Pittsburgh Pirates fans have grand illusions of winning the world series nor will they be choosing a new team soon. Any city that had a team in it would be followed for the pure and simple fact that there is a team to follow.
  3. If the Bills were to move Vegas would be where I would prefer them to go. It would be a great weekend getaway to catch a game... and maybe the bookies would hook us up a little bit following the soccer idea... I think expansion would be feasible without watering down the product if they did like European countries do and Have a Serie A and B. This way teams at the bottom would play for a chance to move up to the big boys division while the top series would guarantee good games each week. If this is done they would have much more ability to plant teams in these locales that they want and not damage the end product. Instead imo it would actually enrich it.
  4. A couple of ideas I had on this subject. -Replace the pro bowl with a game between the two worst teams. The WINNER gets the #1 pick -scrap the game altogether make being named to the pro bowl something like being named an all pro. Players can still get a bonus in their contract but it removes the multiple backouts and subs. -as others said replace the game with a skills competition. Invite off of the Pro Bowl list (from idea above) and have replacements if people back out. There used to be a QB competition that I loved watching and I think they still do it for college QBs. I would much rather watch something like that than a half speed game. -Introduce a bowl game system for all non-playoff teams. This would involve a 3-4 week layoff before the games are played. To make it matter would be the difficult part and this is the weakest of my ideas but I'm just throwing stuff against the wall. I think any of these could/would be more fun for the fans and would remove the many extra pro bowlers that get bumps in their contract because they were the 3rd alternate and made it.
  5. bump... I do not want this to get buried beneath all of the crap. Love that Dareus both knows and speaks up about Brady Rules. Love this guy even more for this. I wish Yahoo would get a hold of this and make a big deal out of it so it won't happen on Sunday!
  6. The good news is that I googled the top 3 names and came up with no notable controversies. All I hope for is a fair and balnced game. Or at least if its slanted to be so towards the Giants
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE_covmW9vY My feelings for Tom Baby and the Pats*
  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-superbowlofficials Theres a Steratore on the list At least it's not Gene though. What do you guys think? Good Crew? Her's an interesting article I found about the head ref... perhaps we won't see any bs roughing the Brady calls http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/tag/_/name/john-parry
  9. I'm aware of sb25 but the last 10 years of beatdowns at the hands of the Pats* makes me hate them WAY more. I would also root for the Giants against the Dolphins, Jets, Titans (that was a backwards lateral!), and possibly a couple others that I can't think of. The Giants definitely don't get a rise out of me like they used. They got a ton of redemption from me when I was the rooting for/ecstatic when they ruined the Pats* perfect season.
  10. I agree with your point somewhat but not your example. I think Adams is a late 1st round choice due to his performance against some elite pass rushers more so than any off the field issues. I will agree that interviews could/should impact draft stock. However performing well at the combine means little to me (see Gholston and a myriad of others). Potential is also scary as projections are very inexact (for every JPP there are a million busts). I prefer the turn on the tape and see who sticks out method. Even that though is inexact because one needs to pay attention to talent around player, talent performed against, etc., but it seems like the best method to me.
  11. I would like to see a link that has them at 100-1. The worst I could find is 30-1. Also I would think if Vegas was "shitting bricks" they would have made the spread more favorable to the giants in order to encourage betting on the Pats* and minimizing their losses. BTW it doesn't need to be a lot of calls to fix this game just the right one at the right time. Holding, PI, any QB penalty all are easy judgement call flags that change momentum. IT'S A BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY! It can't be easily dismissed that the games are somewhat fixed. What is the basis dismissing it? America's great morals? edit: correction I found 66-1 but that is the lowest I found please find me 100-1 linked http://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nfl/sb/120123.html
  12. He was wrong about the odds http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ycn-8863455 And I don't know why you vomit thinking about cheering for the giants especially over the pats*
  13. This is scary but I actually agree with Crayonz... Excuse me while I go I can't believe how much stock people are putting in Senior Bowl performance. This game matters as much as the Pro Bowl. It also is strange to me how people are moving up and down boards still. Aside from interviews nothing should drastically change where a prospect is ranked imo. Not combine results, measurables, or the ultra unimportant pro days. What they did/do on the field should be what matters. Mercilus owned Adams in an actual game! I don't care what Adams did in a glorified scrimmage. He also did well in the Wisconsin game. With the switch to the 43 that was announced I am actually leaning towards Mercilus over Upshaw at this point. He can play RDE and at 6-4 265 has ideal size for the position. Combine that with leading the nation in sacks and forced fumbles! Check out this link and look at his weaknesses, they are all about his lack of extended production but nothing about his skill set. http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2012wmercilus.php
  14. that was quite possibly the worst article I've ever read! Makes Bleacher Report look like the NY Times compared to that lol
  15. Seriously! not like I think we have a chance at him but this could/would be a franchise changer much like Reggie White to the Packers was. Before he went there people said many of the same things about them as they do the Bills. Small market, unable to keep/attract talent, losing/middling team, etc.. Everybody start Tebowing now and maybe we will have enough good karma by march to make this happen!
  16. Ouch I don't like hearing the Pats. I'm taking the Giants and also won on them over niners and ravens over pats. I don't mess with the sides cause I agree they are sucker bets. However I don't have thousands or even hundreds to bet lol. Interested to know why you like the Pats... Now how bout that job? haha
  17. Hook a brother up with your picks (or a job)lol!
  18. I strongly disagree. Bowls mean nothing as they happen so far after the season to matter for me. Once Miami and Va Tech left there was no power team/teams in that conference. Routinely struggling to make a BCS bowl is not a good conference. They are behind the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12, and prob ACC (yes I did see what WVU did to Clemson see my above statement). 6th out of 6 conferences makes you terrible in my book. All that said its official. Schiano and his 68-67(! no idea it was that bad) record has been named the new coach per ESPN text.
  19. I'm with you on the team needing to learn to win and feel strongly that a culture change needs to happen. I'm suprised to learn that Freddy and Wood were the leaders especially as you said with Camp Fitz and I hadn't heard that before. I'm also very disappointed. The qb should be a leader and someone that is leaned on when times are tough. Could you imagine Brady or Manning or Brees deferring to someone else? I guess we do agree on the majority of things, except whether that what he said was said was something bad or not. To me it is an indictment of the entire organization. Not a player, coach, unit, or otherwise but the entire organization. Chan's job should be making sure his team stays humble and prepared. This would be where more Merriman and Barnett (FAs from winning teams) would be an asset. It also is why building through the draft is not all its cracked up to be. Until the culture is changed bringing young players into this mess won't help things. I was an athlete and winning was the end goal. When we won it didn't change anything about how I prepared. Then again I didn't have media hounding me for interviews, my time, etc... is there someone on the staff who handles this for players? Is that the media relations guy's job? I remember a quote after Stevie dropped the Steelers ball in ot and an analyst said he dropped that ball not on sun but tues-sat bc of all the media he had done from the Cincy game. Seems someone dropped the ball on preparing/managing these players interviews/appearances. p.s. great discussion nice to have a convo without attacks/name calling but honest discussion about our Bills!
  20. That's what's so scary about those quotes. Fitz is supposed to be the leader and the face of the franchise. Who spoke up when things were bad? Dareus a rookie! I'm as big of a homer/excuse maker as the next guy (ok maybe not as much as PTR but still) but this is a bad situation. I'll again state that these PROFESSIONAL athletes should not have to learn how to win or how to deal with winning - most come from either a very succesful high school or college team. This speaks volumes about the culture of the entire organization and again is a very scary statement. This to me is akin to Jauron's "it's hard to win in the nfl." I'm with you on Upshaw and think that "the culture" needs to be one of excellence "the Yankee or (eff me for even saying this but) the Patriot way." ....and it starts at the top!
  21. wow I thought the shine had completely come off of this guy. He had a couple good years when ray rice was there and hasn't done much since in an absolutely terrible conference. I'm sure its not easy recruiting to NJ and he is very successful for Rutgers but wow. I'll go on record as thinking this will not work out at all.
  22. So he averaged just under 5 catches and 63 yards a game, with no complimentary receiver to take coverage or pressure away, facing the teams best cb each week, with fitz as his qb, and hurt almost the entire year, but he is taken out of most games?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? As for the second part of your comment - have you seen the comments from the Raven and Niners locker rooms? 1 player or play does not lose a game for you. Easy drop in the steeler game yes definitely. Jets game yep but it was in the middle of the field - what about the next play when he was open in the endzone and Fitz threw it behind him? Why does Fitz get no blame for that loss? (if its only one players fault) Bottom line is Stevie is a great player GREAT. If he leaves it will be nothing but a terrible thing for the Bills.
  23. I think we reached this conclusion in another thread and I will 100% agree with that assessment!
  24. I am. Our special teams from a coverage standpoint and punting seem to have gone way down from April. Not sure how Raymer ended up being the choice either but he was beyond terrible. I like Lindell and trust him to make kicks but he is 35. I know kickers play later than most positions but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
