  1. Its a 5 minute time limit. Getting the right answers isnt neccesarily the hard part its doing it in the time alloted.
  2. We see every year players do well and others do poorly on the wonderlic. I thought it would be fun to post a link and see where people fell on the score. It's a fun little experiment that may or may not put a little perspective into how you feel about players scores. The instruction are on the page as well as a link to the answers and how to score it. I got 10 out of 12 in the 5 minutes. I didnt have time to figure out one of the word problems and got the one I did work out wrong (numbers 9 and 10). So I ended up with a 41 out of 50. Take it post your scores, compare, and enjoy! http://www.walterfootball.com/draftwonderlic.php
  3. surprised noone picked cb as an offseason need maybe I should replace it with rb
  4. my friend refers to him as grandpa gailey (bc of the glasses he wears) but I love that nickname
  5. This is always what I did. I would then either gift those games or donate them. The first year I had seasons I was able to sell them for face value to some drunken idiot but no luck the other years. The drive makes it to costly to attend exhibition games so I just consider it a sunk cost and enjoy the regular season (unless one of the home game sis the 3rd preseason game then I might make an attempt).
  6. Why cut him and create another hole? He is serviceable at the very least and has had ups and downs throughout his career. If we needed cap space maybe but they don't and probably won't spend what money they do have.
  7. I think Mercilus is a more apt comparison to JPP they are similar in size (JPP has 1 inch and 5 pounds) and both only had one monster year of production. That's why he was my pick so I feel you... I didn't have him in there at first because I feel we are riding the Fitz wagon for one more year at least. Since I felt management wasn't going to do anything I left it off (it's on now thanks for the feedback) Added. Don't think he fits as Buddy's type of receiver but who knows. Now he's an option Thought you'd like that I was going to put Coples as PDaddys boy but I don't know if he would have appreciated it. Since your open about your man crush I knew you wouldn't mind Thanks I appreciate it especially coming from our resident draft expert I know about DE and also feel its a need. I'm hoping for wr to be addressed in fa with more than just a stevie re-sign then pass rush heavy in the draft (the throw enough sheet against the wall and hope some of it sticks theory). As for moving CB down. I would love DeQuan Menzie and Cliff Harris to be Bills next year. I think Menzie is underrated on the drafttek rankings but we shall see. What are your thoughts on those two?
  8. Yeah both LB and DE were tough to pass over for me as well. It looks unanimous to re-sign stevie which surprises me. It seems like like there are tons of bashers on here that want him gone. Good to see the board agrees about something... hope I didn't break your site SDS
  9. I gotta say reading those studies didn't change my thoughts one bit. Again I will state that the impact can't be measured in a vacuum. Different areas are affected differently by the presence of a pro sports team. The first one was about the DC area where there already was the wizards as well as many tourist attractions. The second uses 12 cities as "control" cities which is a ridiculous statement as nothing is controlled about 12 different locations with varying degrees of attractiveness to a tourist/consumer. The third link is about the yankees, mets, and cowboys, I've already covered why their situation is different than the bills but it does include this statement at the end I found interesting and think it does apply to the Bills. These quality-of-life benefits are not always included in the debate on subsidizing sports facilities because it is so difficult to measure these types of benefits. It is hard to argue, though, that one main benefit of a new sports facility comes from the improved quality of life of the surrounding community. I will agree that neither of us truly know the answer to this. Yes Buffalo will survive but it will certainly hurt on a personal/civic level at the least.
  10. Thank you... as for the other vote who would you like to see stevestojan maybe I can add them onto the poll
  11. Just some questions I would like to see where people are at this off season. I left the poll public just for fun's sake (we all know PDaddy wants Coples ). My answers btw are Yes to Stevie, Mercilus at 10 (or Ingram still undecided on this but leaning Mercilus' way), and WR as the most pressing need (but its a tough question to answer. I think WR is our most pressing need because even if Stevie does re-sign I think there is still a need for another playmaker (maybe Easley? but no way do I put my eggs in that basket). DE, LB, and even OT have pieces there whether or not they work out is a concern for sure. Anyways can't wait to see what some of the consensus is here... btw for you board english professors... should that be shore up or sure up on the last question? I believe its right but it doesn't look it for some reason.
  12. Finally some factual numbers! My only question is did the Bills roll over their money? It seems like it is/was an option but that teams had to notify the league they were doing it. Is their any evidence that this has been done?
  13. I agree with your post and would like to add something more. Professional sports teams and their impacts can't be measured in a vacuum. Each sports team effects areas differently. Imagine Green Bay without the Packers and how devastating economically that would be. With the Bills being the only pro sports team in town it would be damaging if they left to the hotels, airports, restaurants, etc... The impact of they have Buffalo is different from an area that has other things to offer. It is the only major ticket in town. If there were other sports teams or other draws to the area (I'm not forgetting Niagara Falls but a lot of that money is spent on the Canadian side) then the impact of them leaving would be lessened. It is THE identifying factor for Buffalo as others have pointed out. If your not from the area and mention Buffalo as others have pointed out they will either talk about snow or the Bills.
  14. Field a competitive team, people stop bitching. edit: who am I kidding field a competitive team, people B word less lol
  15. Just saw this too but I'm torn. I can't commit to anything until after free agency and the draft. I gave me tickets up 2 years ago and the ones I had are still available I would love to be back there. I wish I could talk myself into them but I also wish I could talk myself into believing they actually care about winning........ Until that happens I'll stay home and watch.
  16. This... I think he had 2 picks in college and it was a point of emphasis that he couldn't catch during the draft.
  17. Umm no they aren't... only 12 teams make the playoffs and I would be interested to know who you think on SF and Denver are better than Stevie. Also Bowe does drop passes see these quotes lifted from his wiki In the Chiefs first game of the 2008 season, Bowe recorded five receptions for forty–nine yards, but he also dropped 4 passes, including a game–tying catch in the endzone on first and goal. On November 17, 2009, Bowe was suspended for 4 games for an NFL drug violation. (Just thought I would add this in) Bowe got off to a slow start in Chiefs' 2010 campaign, catching only 9 passes in the team's first 4 games. In the Chiefs' fourth game against the Indianapolis Colts, Bowe dropped crucial passes including one in the endzone which would have given them the lead, as the Chiefs' got their first loss 9-19. Then there is this http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2011/11/28/dwayne-bowe-gave-new-meaning-to-alligator-arms-with-this-pathetic-effort-against-the-steelers/ In case you can't click on the link it was him alligator arming a ball in the final drive of a game. So in summation; he is one mess up away from a long suspension, has a history of drops, and suspect effort in the clutch (your biggest knock on Stevie). So how is he better than Stevie?
  18. food for thought: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors/_/date/20120220#14121 Just think how this would make you feel
  19. some food for thought http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors/_/date/20120220#14121 says basically all of the same things you put in your post. I would absolutely be sick to my stomach if this happened.
  20. Vincent Jackson sat out last year on his own free will. He was able to play in those games and chose not too. Its not cherry picking stats its comparing a two year period (which is all stevie has to go on). Stevie had a worse qb and worse supporting cast but put up just as good numbers. If you would like I will "cherry pick" VJ's two best years (2009 and 2011) and I come up with averages of 64 catches 1137 yards and 9 tds. I don't understand why fans want to dump Stevie to pay more for this guy. As for the ypc argument you do realize that they are different types of receivers right? A wr is not just a wr. Some are "possession" and some are "speed" receivers. Speed receivers by nature will have more ypc and possession more catches. Which is exactly what plays out here. Again I don't understand how VJ is so much better than Stevie and clearly a #1 when Stevie supposedly is not (according to the fans here). Stevie has already played in Buffalo and supposedly has a love for this city. I don't understand the want to try for someone else other than this being a grass is greener situation for fans.
  21. Agreed... I'll also add when your fan base doesn't support the players or turns on them at the drop of a hat. I beg you posters that think the Bills should resign Stevie on the cheap to go check out other teams message boards. Stevie is a hot commodity. He WILL get paid. I can't stand this talk of letting him walk for any reason. It's not your money! Then Bills will be under the salary cap regardless of how much he gets paid. I would also like to add for all you VJ fans go check out there stats and tell me who you would rather have. I'll also add DeSean Jackson to this list. They both make plays and have great games but there is zero consistency to them. They both also have made a big deal out of their contracts and let it affect their play. Stevie wished people a Happy New Years for crying out loud! I know its just a fan board but please check out facts and bring them to your argument. I'll post stats from the last 2 years for you: DeSean Jackson Games Played (GP) 29 Catches © 105 Yards (Y) 2017 TDs 11 (1 rushing included in that number) Vincent Jackson GP 21 (he held out!) C 74 Yards 1354 TDs 12 Stevie GP 32 C 158 Y 2077 TDs 17 So I ask who is the better receiver? Also let me add both VJ and DJ have MUCH better qbs throwing to them. The last tidbit I'll pass on DeSean has never had more than 62 catches in a year and VJ has never had more than 68. Stevie topped both of those numbers each of the last 2 years! Stop the insanity PLEASE! :wallbash:
  22. My point was in my original response. I said that a great qb can make lesser talent look better than it is. To say that a qb is immaterial to a discussion about receiver productivity is ludicrous. I think we agree that Fitz I'd not a great qb so getting him help is not a bad thing if the player is right. Again the best receivers in the game are Larry Fitzgerald Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson are top 5 picks. Are you saying those are wasted picks? I'll ask it this way does Calvin Johnson make stafford better or does stafford make Johnson better? Or how about this way if we put Fitz on new England new Orleans or green bay do those receivers still look as good And is the offense as high powered? Or how bout if we put Andre Johnson in new England does it make their offense worse because he was a high draft pick? All I'm saying is wide receiver should not be out of the question IF there is one worth taking because our skill level is not at a point where bpa can ignore the position entirely. Edit: I am not saying it should be the pick either just that it shouldn't be ruled out due to your offense rankings which are clearly qb predicated and driven by qbs much better than fitz
  23. my statement was you cherry picked teams with great qbs and you did it again.
