  1. Skinny build and suspect arm strength yes but your links do not help your argument. Kellen Moore completed more passes in each of his years than Pat White attempted. Think about that for a second. Moore had 142 tds to 28 ints. White threw for 56 tds to 23 ints. As players I don't see it and that is what matters to me. Besides Pat White was black and Kellen Moore is white don't you know you can't compare the 2?  I keed I keed
  2. One of the concerning things about this injury (and the same for Kyle WIlliams and Merriman) is that an Achilles injury is usually followed by hamstring injuries. I hope this isn't the case for these guys but it is worrisome to say the least.
  3. I live out of the Buffalo market and "tools" is the only person who does extensive Bills coverage that I can hear. I enjoy his program on the way home from work and tend to listen for a bit longer sometimes as I like his takes. eh maybe... I listened to plenty of Jim Rome. I know all of the jokes, i get the premise but I just don't care for him. To each his own. I don't care for him and others do maybe it's the act I don't care for but he just rubs me the wrong way. I listen to sports talk on the way to work, at work , and on the way home. I find myself many times just turning it off when he's on because he as i've said comes across as a douche. Not sure why I got singled out but I will ask... You know this is a message board right? Where people come to post their opinions? Many times topics spin off and you can see I was clearly responding to someone else. Lastly, what exactly does your post add to the discussion other than adding your opinion on my opinion which no one apparently cares about?
  4. Why the eff was Bob Kraft involved in this?! I know he had a relationship with the AEG ceo but who cares. I hate seeing Bob Kraft front and center actually i'll correct that - the conspiracy theorist in me hates seeing him front and center with anything related to the NFL! unless the Pats want to be the team to move
  5. I see a time coming in the near future where depth is added in the draft and not holes being filled. I can''t wait for that to happen! What a welcome change - hope it lasts
  6. under lol see Tiki Barber last year. Jerry will literally turn 50 this year!
  7. I will agree 100% that he does a great interview. The rest of the time when he isn't interviewing is what bothers me. Another poster alluded to it with his 11:30 tease 11:40 tease... I prefer John Ditulio(sp?) and also enjoy the loose cannons and dan patrick.
  8. and that interview is why I dislike Rome... He's been beating the UK lville horse all week - it's dead sheesh!
  9. slightly off topic but have you guys paid attention to the potential qb draft class next year? It's exceptional! http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/story/2012-03-23/top-college-qbs-2012-tyler-wilson-tyler-bray-mike-glennon-james-franklin-murray Matt Barkley- will more than likely be the 1st pick next year from article linked above Tyler Wilson, Arkansas, Sr.-All the measurables NFL teams crave: physical frame (6-3, 220 pounds), big arm, athleticism. Wilson plays in a pro-style system and knows (and thrives on) the NFL route tree. Tyler Bray, Tennessee, Jr-Potential—and loads of it. The biggest jump in production and grasp of the game for quarterbacks comes from the freshman to sophomore seasons. Bray was on his way to a big season last year (14 TDs, 2 INTs before thumb injury) Mike Glennon, N.C. State, Sr-Glennon’s breakthrough season (31 TDs, 12 INTs, 3,054 yards) James Franklin, Missouri, Jr-Physically, the total package. A legitimate Cam Newton-type player: a strong arm and pass-first mentality and the ability (and want) to punish defenses in the run game Aaron Murray, Georgia, Jr-A strong arm and a high quarterback IQ. He has terrific leadership skills and a rare toughness. and this doesn't include the come from nowhere prospect that will be there as well as Landry Jones. That is a lot of talent that will be available early next year!
  10. They just signed Finnegan this offseason though so there need at cb isn't as great here is a list of their wr's and it is scary bad. Brandon Gibson Dominique Curry Danario Alexander Greg Salas Steve Smith (the former Giant) Mark Clayton Danny Amendola The only thing that would help is fisher being a defensive minded hc so he may lean towards shoring up that spot. I think if they don't take Blackmon they look to trade down near us and draft an olineman so maybe they are a viable trading partner. Still though I say they take Blackmon if he is there. I also feel there is minimal chance for the Browns to take Tannehill at 4, if that is who they want they might trade down to 6 or 7 if not later.
  11. I agree with your idea but disagree that he will fall past the Rams. I think they have their sights set on him and are hoping he falls to them.
  12. I read that link in another thread (there are 2 of these running simultaneously mods) and found it interesting as well. My point however was more that all positions have a lower probability of success later in the draft not just qb. Also (as I will touch on lower) that there is no harm in taking a developmental qb later on as it works out or it doesn't same as with other positions. If it does maybe you hit the lotto and end up with Brady or maybe you get an asset that can be turned into a higher pick/contributing member of your team Yes! I made the same comment in the other thread. Ron Wolf used to do this every year. If they were good he had a competent backup for cheap before they became a trade able asset. Then he would do it all over again In theory I wouldn't be opposed to this however you would need a dance partner. As for the second part of your post I think we would all agree that this is case however past regimes picks don't necessarily apply as they weren't the type of players to fit the current coaches style.
  13. Yeah I really can't stand him either. He is pretentious and a douche. Also the show is horrible as it is filled with repetitive topics as well as a snails pace talking to elongate the section ever more. His interviews usually are good though but his filler is horrible.
  14. I want Whitney Mercilus in a trade down. While our signings have certainly beefed up our line I would love to add this guy. I think some players that other teams will be interested in are Tannehill, Richardson, Coples, maybe even Decastro. Other teams draft boards may necessitate them jumping up in front of teams that are picking in front of them to get the player/position they want.
  15. Yep I've actually come around to this as well. There isn't a position I would be mad that they drafted. I certainly have preferences but if an elite prospect is staring you in the face you almost have to take him regardless... And save the Decastro pleas. OGs are not top prospects imo
  16. This. The idea of whether or not to take a qb late has more to do with other positions success rate in the nfl not the qb position alone. Is it less likely a qb from round 6 will be a hof yes but the same can be said for a multitude of positions if not every one. Oh yeah eff Tom Brady and the Pats for getting Lucky!
  17. What in his game reminds you of White? White was a horrible passer and a runner first second and third. I see no comparison of the 2 at all. The McCoy comparison maybe but def not Pat White. As for Moore the prospect he does have a chance to be good/great in this league. I understand the knock on his height but not in his game. He is lethally accurate to the tune of 74%. He has a long history of production and through watching his games I keep seeing an NFL player. Then again I thought McCoy would be a star (he still may be good but has no weapons) and to this point I have been wrong about him. For the other argument that is going on... Late round qbs are brought in to be developed. You see something you like in a qb but some things you don't like. Bring them in try to work on them. If it's a success you get Matt Hasselback, Matt Cassell, Brad Johnson, Trent Green, Rich Gannon, and maybe just maybe a Tom Brady. If it's not it is another late round pick that didn't make the roster. I don't understand why it is acceptable to take other positions have it not work and cut the player, but if it is a qb it is a waste of a pick. Late round qbs SHOULD be taken with teams that have an entrenched starter that will give the pick time to develop. I remember the Ron Wolf (former packer gm) saying he would take one every year and hope to find a good one or at least one he could use as a trade able asset.
  18. Although I do like Moore and think he has a chance to be a great (yes great) qb in this league I really would like his LT. Nate Potter to me has everything you want in a LT. I'm hoping he is picked with our first 4th rounder and is the multiple tackle Buddy is talking about. If they took Moore with the 2nd 4th rounder I wouldn't be upset either. 3rd to me is to early as I have the top 3 picks slated for OT, CB, LB, WR. Yes I know there are 4 positions there but I feel the top 3 picks will be out of these positions. I like the idea of drafting a qb every year with a late pick and see if you can't get lucky, but if the player is a 2nd or 3rd rounder they should be a day 1 contributor and starter down the road.
  19. I'm not a Tannehill supporter so this article scares for a couple of reasons. Cosell has some concerns about Tannehill... a tendency to lock his front leg as he delivers the ball This screams a knee injury waiting to happen Cosell says Tannehill compares favorably to last year’s 12th overall pick, Christian Ponder who the Bills loved At this point, he would be best in a quick-rhythm, short-to-intermediate passing game which we run If the Bills take him I will root like hell that he turns out great but I just don't see it. If Barkley had come out this year Tannehill would not be rated this high and there wouldn't be this lovefest for him imo. He doesn't seem to have the "it" factor to me. I will be hoping he is off the clock before the Bills pick for 2 reasons. 1. I don't think he's very good and 2. It will push someone better down to our pick.
  20. This. He's looking to get paid not to take a bargain deal and join a contender. He already plays for one. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats part with picks for a great player just don't see why the bears would do this
  21. Ryan broyles.... Maybe the injury is why he is rated so low but wow does this kid produce!
  22. first 50 on me implies that the number of attendees wont be limited just the amount of people he will pay for. I would assume others can join but pay their own way. All just my assumption though...
  23. How about this list of 3 guys I want in the draft... Whitney Mercilus - amazing production albeit for only 1 year. Ideal size/speed combo. Fumble forcing machine! DeQuan Menzie - Cb from alabama played opposite of Kirkpatrick and saw the lions share of throws his way. He held up quite nicely. He is rated anywhere from third to fifth round and would be a steal that late imo. Nate Potter - LT from Boise. No confusion about whether he will play left or right. His athleticism lends itself to the left side. He has a ton of experience in a pass first offense. Some knocks on strength/level of competition but to me looks like the real deal. Since we've pretty much panned the OP's picks (save for Quick who I also like and he IS on people's radar) what do you guys think of these 3? btw as an add on please save the maybin/mercilus comment they really couldn't be more different players....
