  1. I don't watch too much acc football (only the national games) so I won't necessarily disagree but.... In my experience the SEC rules over all when it comes to bad officiating. Their streak of 6 straight championships is slightly tainted in my book. It seems whatever team is the top team in the conference (and one with the best shot of getting in the "nc" game) gets many calls to keep them undefeated and in the hunt. I can think of several calls for florida and bama (their first "championship") that were iffy to say the least. I do remember the ACC doing something along the same lines when FSU had that ridiculous streak when they enetered the ACC so I'm sure it continues to this day but the SEC def stands out to me as well.
  2. After 9 rounds I actually thought Cotto was winning 5-4. Then Mayweather clearly won the fight. He's good but I don't think he is an all time great. Too much picking and choosing of the best fights for him on top of the fact boxing is not at all what it used to be. Mayweather is very good and seems to have no challengers - except Pac who he won't fight.
  3. Yes and no. It would be a benefit to add a pass rusher but what is his position. He has played de in a 43 and the ravens run a 34.
  4. To help you avoid your lawn for a bit more... The scenario I laid out was because you had mentioned Kelsay would be cut after tc and Mario would take the number then. As for your list all of those players were cut/released/not re-signed at the end of the year, not after tc. That would certainly send shock waves through the team.
  5. I can't find the link but Buddy made a comment about being completely unprepared for your guy coming off the board. Mentioned how it had happened to him in the past. I think this is what happened here. Jags got caught unprepared and scrambled.
  6. If it is after tc Mario most certainly will have a number, and all of the people who pre-ordered his jersey will have that number on their jersey. The stock would be huge. The cost would go beyond financial though bc many (rightfully so) would be up in arms about their brand new jersey being obsolete.
  7. I'm torn on this issue. As some have stated I feel suicide is the most selfish thing someone can do. It is also a cowardly thing to do. While the person committing suicide may be at peace they leave behind a trail of wreckage. The so called easy way out is only for the person that commits the act. Family and friends are left to pick up the pieces wondering how they didn't see it coming and what they could have done to prevent it. I have had a friend a friend commit suicide more than 2 years ago and I'm still mad at him. His close friends are still a mess. His family is still a mess. I've had a family member attempt it and I still worry to this day that they may try again someday. It is a terrible terrible selfish and cowardly act. The reason I'm torn is because the people that commit this act feel like it is their only option and that the world would be better for it. Thank you for those that have shared your story. Although I carry a lot of anger towards those that have I also am empathetic to their plight. I can only imagine what it must be like to think that death is your only way out. I have never been there. I just hope those that feel that way can remember their family and friends. Knowing that anyone who would be hurt by their action is someone they should call and talk with, lean on, and use for strength.
  8. for 100 million I'll deal with that stress I'm having a hard time following your post though. In one breath you say Kelsay is a leader on the team and the next say he will get cut in tc. Add on to the fact that Mario can't change his number without buying all of the leftover stock with all the fans who would have the wrong number on their jersey and it ain't happening (if Kelsay were to get cut which I would be shocked by). Mario did leave his team, town, home and I'm sure that is stressful. Not sure how it compares to leaving his number (although I would imagine it is much less stressful) but he never even asked Kelsay about it. If it was that important I would think he would have already had the conversation.
  9. For those arguing Kelsay should give up the number I ask you this: Have you ever played sports, even on a high school level, for an extended period of time? You start to identify with a number. It becomes part of your identity especially in the sport you are playing (and sometimes across multiple sports). These sentiments were echoed by Kelsay. He has been on the Bills longer and been in the league longer. Mario could have had 90 if he stayed with the Texans. On the Bills he has no claim to it. As an aside, why do people hate Kelsay? I can understand thinking he isn't very good, and I can understand thinking there are better options, but I don't get hating someone who has played for our favorite team for as long as he has. As an olb he is terrible but as a de he is an acceptable player. One who will be (and should have/would have) a depth player on a better team. Stop hatin' on Kelsay!
  10. came here to post the same link. Instead I'll put a few quotes from the article that I found interesting. If Chan Gailey can't save Vince Young no one can. good to see Chan getting love esp from NFL.com He makes a lot of sense as competition for Tyler Thigpen for the backup job. At this stage in his career, it should be about opportunity, not money, for Young. He's not going to find a better opportunity than this one. what many of us have been saying.
  11. When I clicked on this link I immediately looked for 19-0 to put as my vote. I figured the next best thing was the super bowl. I'd be pissed at 16-0 it would mean we went undefeated and lost the first playoff game at home!
  12. How can it be anything but the Super Bowl? It's May we are allowed to think that until at least October! I wish this was a public poll though. I would love to see who voted 7-9 so I could add them to the "never take anything they say serious list". How are you a fan and guess that as the record?!?!
  13. What in the world?! I would wager that VY is better than Corp, I'll also say I think he is better than Thigpen. Why would you want your qb coach spending his time with the udfa? I'm not saying he should be completely ignored just be realistic. Corp is no Hamdan after all! I'm all in for VY. He has better physical tools than any qb we have on the roster bar none. With Gailey's rep for getting the most out of qbs why not give it a shot. Fitz has been given the reigns and an opportunity to prove he is the real deal this year, but what if he doesn't? What if he falls apart this year again (injured or not)? Does he get another year? I would imagine it is put up or shut up time for Fitz and view this VY thing as Chixley just trying to improve the overall talent on the team. Not start a pr war, not cause a locker room disturbance, not make Fitz uncomfortable, just improve the team. After the draft there was a thread about the weak spots on the team. Nearly everyone that posted in it wanted to improve the back up qb position. Now that it is being looked into people are upset that its a former pro bowler?! I guess all you negative nancies have had a hard time this year with all of the good in this off season so you gotta get it in somewhere but wow. On a side note: Can people stop killing him for the Dream Team quote? You have a problem with him thinking he had joined a great team? Think about what all the pundits were saying before the last season, how great the Eagles were going to be, how awesome their offseason was. He was on board with those sentiments and echoed them big deal. I want every player on the Bills to think they play for the best team in football! It is not even on the radar for why the Eagles stunk last year and was a media thing that got driven into the ground. Their lack of d/lbs along with an unhealthy Vick hurt them more than a comment made by the back up qb in tc did.
  14. See ya! Seriously a back up qb signing would make you switch allegiance? What has vy done to deserve such vitriol? He isn't qb dog killer and has no police blotter. I don't understand one bit why you would hate this so much. Did he steal your girl or something? Damn man!
  15. http://www.opposingviews.com/i/sports/nfl/2012-nfl-draft-winners-ryan-tannehill%E2%80%99s-fianc%C3%A9e-matt-kalil%E2%80%99s-mom-photos How is Kalil's sister not getting any love? I'm assuming it's her in the orange dress as she looks very much like the mother. I'll take her over Tannehill's girl and I prefer blondes! As for the guy who asked how many of us have gotten a girl as hot as Tannehill's... sorry it never happened for you bud .
  16. I don't understand how this guy fell so far. He was a 5 star recruit out of high school, then followed it up with leading a major program in tackles 3 straight years (just like kuechly who went #9 overall), was a team captain, and a special teams ace. Great great great value with this pick. I just don't get why he fell - the only thing I can think of is his 4-3 olb only rating as many teams play a 3-4.
  17. an interesting stat I came across: Graham had receptions of at least 47 yards in five games this season while catching a team-high 46 passes. That is some serious big play capability. The comparisons to Mike Wallace have been made on a few sites that I've looked at as well. The low number of catches originally jumped out at me but they somehow led the team which made me feel better. Also learning about his track ability (I know it doesn't always translate) had me impressed as well. Let's hope his dad doesn't get him on the clear... or maybe that he does just found something else interesting: 30 WRs taken in the 3rd round since 2007 and those guys averaged 14 catches for 182 yards and 0.6 touchdowns during their first year. Half the list had 10 catches or fewer and only four players had over 30 catches.
  18. I watched Friday night of the draft with a browns fan and he was talking about this. Hates te ravens more than any team in any sport bc they won the super bowl AFTER leaving Cleveland. Then the team that was given to them to replace the original has been horrible. I told him I prob would stop watching football altogether if that happened.
  19. I would like us all to pause for a minute and consider this: This team has no glaring holes. Some question marks sure but every team has those. This is such a different year where our picks are depth and allowed to learn before being relied on to contribute substantially. After the draft our secondary, linebackers, offensive lines, and special teams are much improved. Add in free agency where our defensive line was greatly improved and were looking at a bright future. This team is leaps and bounds better than the one that started 5-2. It's also light years ahead of the team that finished 6-10 with our healthy guys returning. All in all best offseason for the bills in a while. Some areas could be improved like backup te, wr, and qb but that's the thing that has me excited were talking about backups! Last thing I'll add is this: it's fitz's year to sh*t or get off the pot. With our limited needs next year the fo may go all in for a qb of the future type. We will see how the season plays out but that's my 2 cents.
  20. He should call raymer and thank him. May make it for knockoffs only but I envision him getting put on the practice squad for insurance. Not a bad pick imo. As an aside on a related topic... I was surprised at the number of kickers drafter this year 3 pk and 1 punter off the top of my head which seems like way more than normal.
  21. I think a qb is a definite possibility with the last 2 picks. I love Moore and only time will tell if the bills do to. You hope we draft in the top 10 next year?!?!?!
  22. For those interested he also ran a draft diary for walterfootball.com it's nothing earth shattering but I found it interesting none the less. I'll have to reread it now that he plays for the bills.
