  1. This is why a blocking te or just another te in general is an undermentioned need. Knox stays in to block out of necessity. Shoring up the oline and protection will benefit him tremendously imo.
  2. 3 years 12 million. Singletary is punching air right now. Id imagine he will be back on a very team friendly deal now.
  3. Seriously! Dude makes a joke and the same people whining about beane not doing anything are jumping on him lol.
  4. I don't disagree but it is wild to me that in the middle of march they are still whining about things that will not change. I am also excited about mcd taking over play calling duties as he has been very successful and I'm looking forward to a more aggressive style defense. Ive posted previously how hard it is to win the super bowl with a lot of stats regarding different coaches. Mcd has some flaws but no coach is perfect. Mcd has clearly performed at a minimum as a top 10 coach in this league and over an extended amount of time. People can be mad about not winning the sb this year but does anything think on a talent level at the end of the year the Bills were as good as the eagles, chiefs, or bengals? At the start of the year with Hyde, Von, and a healthy Poyer id say yes. By the end of the year I don't think they were. Add in everything that happened to the team and the city and I thought mcd coached very well this year.
  5. You negative posters really cant help yourselves. It's march go do something else other than constantly whine and cry. Life is about so much more than the Bills and football. If this team makes you that miserable you seriously need to reflect on your life and where it's at. If you're trolling and spreading misery brings you joy please again reevaluate yourself.
  6. A bright offensive minded HC like Robert Saleh? Maybe the OC is your guy, Nathaniel Hackett? The Jets have negative cap space and Rodgers carries a tremendous cap number. They would have to cut some really good players to fit him in. The sky is falling for you but that is par for the course. Is the sky falling for the other 31 teams that didn't win the super bowl? Calling McD a bad coach is laughable especially when compared to Saleh. Saleh has an 11-23 record as a HC. For perspective, the Bills have won more than 11 games in each of the last 3 seasons. Even better the Bills have lost 18 games total over the last 4 seasons. Saleh has proven nothing as a HC thus far. Rodgers no doubt makes the Jets a better team how much better remains to be seen.
  7. The argument for Washington is that he helps the run game and can also help the pass game by freeing up Knox to run routes. He then is also a tremendous red zone threat. It makes the offense less predictable while offering protection for Josh and opening running lanes. The Bills (I think) ran a lot of tackle eligible plays. Washington removes the need to do so. I won't disagree that 27 is likely too rich for a blocking te. Looking at the trade chart, Seattle would be a great team to trade down with. They could give 37 and 83 for 27. Then the Bills would have 2 2nds and 2 3rds. Washington is a lot more palatable at 37 and the Bills would have an extra top 100 pick to bolster the team. Best case scenario is somehow one of the top 4 qbs (would have to be Levis) is still sitting there and someone wants that 5th year option. Unfortunately I think the floor for the top 4 qbs is Tampa Bay at 19.
  8. I know a blocking te isn't sexy but I think Washington has the athletic freak profile the Bills like, can help the run game and pass game, and help protect Josh. He won't be there when the Bills pick in the 2nd so I wouldnt be upset if he is the first pick. Added bonus his blocking skills would free knox up to catch the ball and also help make the run game less peedictable. His ability to pull would help runs to the outside where Cook can use his speed.
  9. https://twitter.com/nickbaumgardner/status/1632201089289273349?s=46&t=WCK9Qjjqglqbehoc9NnkiA Jsn had elite agility scores and best short shuttle run in 9 years!
  10. Love that movie shirley you remember the end of it tho.
  11. Mediocrity? Are you serious? They are consistently successful something that hasnt been said about the Bills since the 90s! They have won the afc east 3 years in a row in a divison with the best coach of all time. Nothing about the Bills or their results have been mediocre. As i put in the op they have the 3rd most wins in the league since he took over. That's not mediocre.
  12. So the only 2 positiona that matter are hc and qb? Thw rest of the roster means nothing? I disagree strongly. As I pointed out earlier the Bengals offense is miles more talented than the Bills. Also the gap between Burrow and Allen is narrow if it exists at all. The Chiefs have a head coach and qb combo that is inarguably better than the Bills. The AFC is a bloodbath right now. Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, Allen, Lawrence are all fantastic qbs. Homefield and the bye have become hugely important. Not only the rest but avoiding that second round matchup of either the Chiefs or Bengals. This was a regular talking point this year. The Bills have gone afc cahmpionship divisional round divisional round. Do you know how many other teams have made least the divisional the last 3 years? The chiefs and bengals. That's it. No other teams have had the consistent success. Hopefully one of these years things break right for them. There are problems with the Bills but I don't think McD is one of them.
  13. I want to go paragraph by paragraph to address your points: 1. You talk about each other AFC east team starting at least 3 qbs. The Bills won the division by 4.5 games. In a 17 game season! Secondly Josh may not have missed a game but he was clearly hampered by the elbow injury. 2. You talk about losing to the Jets and the Dolphins. They were division games which are always tough. Should we talk about the Chiefs losing to the 4-12-1 Colts? Should we talk about the Eagles losing to the 8-8-1 Commanders? Should we talk about the 49ers loss to the 5-12 Broncos? The Bills finished 13-3, it's not like they struggled all year. 13-3 is good for the 2nd most wins behind the Chiefs and the Eagles. You know the Super Bowl representatives.... 3. You really want to compare the Kelly era Bills to this team? Does this version of the Bills have a Bruce Smith? Does this version have a Thurman Thomas? I agree Allen is more physically talented and I'll even say better than Kelly. The 2 teams do not compare talent wise. I love Allen but he is not as good as Mahomes. Hell I love McD and he isn't as good as Reid. That doesn't make him a bad coach. 4. I'm not sure how you got I said teams won with less talent. My point was the opposite. Those teams were all MORE talented than the Bills teams. Especially this year when Hyde and Miller were out for the year, Poyer was banged up, White didn't return as quickly or successfully as we hoped. That is a lot of talent missing. Hamlin going down meant the Bills were down to their 3rd string safety. To your last paragraph "Most of those teams didn't have a Josh Allen" Sure I'll grant you that. They did however have a Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald/Cooper Kupp/Jalen Ramsey/Matt Stafford, Legion of Boom, Ray Lewis/Ed Reed, etc. The one outlier is Pederson winning with Foles. Logic's post below lays out exactly where your thinking goes wrong imo. This is exactly what I have been thinking about and I appreciate your post here. He isn't flawless and this post was never meant to point that out. This post just was meant to show that he is a hell of a coach and clearly has established himself in the upper echelon of the league.
  14. This is the exact nonsense that prompted this post. The goal is a championship and McD is as good as any coach in the league as evidenced by the facts i laid out in the op. Of the last 10 sb winners, 3 were belichick, 2 were reid, then you have mcvay who just coached the rams to a worse record than mcd has ever had, arians who is retired, doug pederson, gary kubiak who is retired, and pete carrol who has a 1-4 playoff record since 2017. I'll take it a step further. In the last 3 years they have lost to the chiefs twice and the bengals. Does anyone really want to argue that the bills this year had more talent than the bengals especially on offense? The bengals are even at qb, way better at wr, and better at rb. How about the Chiefs? Mahomes is in a league of his own and the best qb in football. Tyreke Hill is at least as good as diggs and kelce is better than anyone else on the Bills offense. Say they made the super bowl the last 3 years. The bucs had tom brady, better rb, and a much better wr room than the bills the year they won it. The rams have kupp who is better than diggs and aaron donald who is better than anyone on the bills dline plus THEY had von miller. How about the eagles and the best oline in football, a better wr room than the bills, and a secondary where the top 3 dbs were better than anyone in the bills secondary (due to health poyer/Hyde/white if healthy would change that equation. The thing people don't want to admit when bashing mcd is the teams that beat them had as good or better players than them. They didn't lose to poor teams they lost to the class of the nfl. They are in the converstion of the best teams because of mcd not in spite of him as many seem to suggest. Winning the super bowl takes a lot of talent, a lot of skill, and regardless if people want to admit it, luck.
  15. As you said all coaches have them and I think people are just more emotionally invested in the Bills which leads them to judge more harshly.
  16. In light of the Frazier news and all of the whining about McDermott this offseason I wanted to shed some light on the success of the Bills. Reading this board it seems like the consensus is McD is on the hot seat and needs to figure it out soon. Time to put that idiotic nonsense to rest. (Also if Florio says it, it most likely isn't true...) Since 2017 when McD took over, the Bills have the 3rd best record in the NFL behind only the Chiefs and the Saints. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/team-records-since-2017 Since 2017 the Bills have the 8th most playoff WINS https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-team-playoff-wins-since-2017 Since 2020 when Allen took off, the Bills have the 5th most playoff WINS https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-team-playoff-wins-since-2020 Since 2020 the Bills are tied with the 2nd most playoff games played https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-team-playoff-wins-since-2020 Since 2017 The Bills have given up the 3rd least points per game https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-team-defensive-ratings-since-2017 Since he took over the Bills have been a top 3 regular season team and a top 5 playoff team by these measures. Here are some more ranking him against contemporaries: Amongst all active coaches he has the 7th best win % https://www.footballdb.com/coaches/index.html?sort=pct ahead of names like John Harbaugh and Sean McVay He has the 21st best winning % OF ALL TIME https://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/ He has the 46th most playoff wins OF ALL TIME (same link as above) Of those 46, he has the 6th most wins with coaches with the same or less experience OF ALL TIME Did you know? There are only 38 coaches who have coached in 10 or more playoff games? McD has 9 Of those 38 only Sean McVay has done that in 6 or fewer seasons. There are only 2 active coaches in the NFL with more than 1 super bowl win (Reid and Belichick) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_National_Football_League_head_coaches#:~:text=Belichick also has the most,Andy Reid%2C and Sean McVay. There are only 8 active coaches who have won a super bowl period. Give the man his flowers. He is a great coach and we are lucky to have him.
  17. Literally what i wrote.... "which called into question his agility along with a neck injury in college."
  18. Eagles drafted andre dillard and jjaw so yes they had a bad couple of picks salvaged with miles sanders who was also drafted before metcalf. Patriots drafted nkeal harry and joejuan williams before metcalf who both busted. Chiefs drafted mecole hardman who has been mediocre and juan thornhill who has been productive. Chiefs definitely had the best draft but missed on the wr valuation. The Bills didnt even draft that position in the first 2 rounds so choosing this hill to hammer them on is kind of silly. Yes it would be great to have metcalf on this team but he went 64th overall and the 9th wr overall. Every team had a chance to take him. Some very good front offices passed on him and selected other wrs that were much worse. It's the draft that happens.
  19. Them winning super bowls was exactly my point. You said you would fire scouts who discounted metcalf for his agility score. I used the chiefs and eagles because they didnt just choose another position they prioritized the position then chose a different wr than metcalf who are much worse than metcalf. Jjaw who the eagles took is every bit as bad as cody ford. Taking metcalf over ford was clearly the right choice but thats not at all what was being discussed. Metcalf being some cant miss prospect was. Also are you arguing prioritizing the wr position over building the oline? I disagree with that take if so. This year is a good example of that. I think the Bills will benefit more fixing the o line as opposed to finding a wr2. The chiefs have a worse wr room than the bills imo.
  20. He only has 67 total college catches. Don't forget he also had a neck injury that was concerning and the agility weren't just low for his draft they were low for a wr in any draft. A simple google search will show a plethora of articles stating concern for his agility scores. Again he wasn't a can't miss no brainer prospect. He ended up being great pick but he was taken 64th overall and was the 9th receiver taken. There were some very good receivers taken before him including aj brown and deebo samuel. There were also misses by the chiefs and eagles who were the representatives in the super bowl. You firing those scouts?
  21. Check again the only thing he set a record for was fastest 40 for a player over 225 lbs. The only thing he was best at his own combine was most bench presses. He had the 30th 20 yard shuttle and 27th 3 cone drill which called into question his agility along with a neck injury in college. He wasnt the can't miss prospect you are smugly declaring him to be.
  22. Its all in the wording. Note that it says stadium wide price increase. I will guarantee they have raised individual sections at times but haven't done an across the board raise like this year. Found it: https://news.yahoo.com/patriots-season-ticket-prices-increase-183742559.html Check the last line. Most sections have received at least 1 increase which again implies some have seen multiple.
  23. Thats interesting i read an article yesterday that credited bienimy with lifting those plays from the jags eagles game earlier this year. Wonder which is true
  24. I agree with your overall point but the Patriots never won the super bowl when they had to play in the wild card round. They only won when they had a first round bye. Now that the #1 team is the only one to get a bye, it is even more difficult. In previous years, that bye would have been a tremendous help to this year's Bills team. In fact 2 of the 3 years under the new format, the Bills would have had a bye. Who knows how beneficial that could have been. Here are some I haven't seen mentioned: 1. Ernie Adams - he was the voodoo master. I have mentioned before but he was someone who broke down film each week. I believe he was obsessive and searched until he found tendencies that could be exploited. The weird thing is, it was never really revealed what he did. 2. Dante Scarnecchi (sp?) - possibly the best OL coach of all time. Retired for a year or 2 and the line performed noticeably worse. Returned and the OL returned to form. 3. Gronk - love him or hate him he is in the top 5 at the very least greatest TEs of all time. 4. BBs ability to adapt. He was always ahead of the game seemingly and willing to zig when others zagged.
